For those of you interested in making a contribution to the disaster relief due to the tsunami, here's some information for you.

Oxfam needs money ASAP. They are on the frontlines right now and need help getting aid and clean water to the victims of this tragedy. OXFAM

You can also give to UNICEF, Care, and the Red Cross/Red Crescent.

Give what you can. This is probably the greatest natural disaster of our time. Over 100,000 confirmed dead. Let's do what we can for the survivors.

Thank you very much for posting this. I was just wondering where to send money.

thanks couture honey, nice sentiment and bold action:kiss:

yes folks oxfam needs your help to help these poor unfortunates... all donations will go to the relief effort, oxfam's big enough that it doesn't take a cut for admin costs all the time as some charities have to... not saying don't give to others but you know what i mean.

i'm a volunteer worker at an oxfam shop and collection point over here, have been for years, and i can assure you we need the money, and we will help get these people back on their feet...

if you have a local oxfam collection point, donations of clothing, blankets and all sorts will also be welcome... anything donated will either be sent directly to the disaster area, or sold on to raise funds for the disaster if not needed on site.

please help:kiss:

UK private citizens have been contributing one million pounds an hour to the main collection point.

Og

Edited to add:

disaster emergency committee

That is a site for the main UK charities that deal with disaster relief.

Blessings on them. There's one matter in which I would love to see some intense international competition.

The link in my sigline has a list of multiple charities involved as well as information.

No matter where you give, please, give what you can. :rose:

Thanks for posting that link, Couture.

Thanks for chiming in LorriLove. I'd been wondering which charity would likely have the most direct application.

Still feels like not enough. :(

Thank goodness for people like you. Oxfam is a wonderful charity and the people who work for Oxfam, both paid and volunteer work, do a great job of ensuring the maximum amount of aid gets to those who need it most.

Here is a link for the Red Cross donation form . You can select any of the specific things, and the first one listed is for the Tsunami relief efforts.
