Play online.
 If you don't mind 13 year olds insulting your sexuality with every key except for the letters when you blow nail them with PPCs.

PS: Best thing about Advent Children? The music! The opening title piece was great, the one where Cloud is on the motorcycle trying to get away from Kadaj's gang, and then of course the rendition of "One Winged Angel" when Sephiroth appears.

Well don't have a warp core overload! Sit down and geek out with us! I just saw Advent Children last night. It was sooo good I had tears in my eyes the art, seeing everyone again, the music... I was emotionally and physically moved. Can't get it til next month tho.... I collect midi files of video games so aeris' theme hit me like a ton of bricks too. :D

The Turks at least that’s what I think they were called made the movie for me especially the bit with the glasses the expression on (Rude wasn’t it I suck with names) was priceless.

Am I a geek?

I'm not sure if I qualify as a geek. I'm into the following:

Math, science (esp astronomy and cosmology)
Watching science fiction and fantasy (all types)
Watching shows like Family Guy
Playing RPG's like Baldurs Gate 2
Reading graphic novels
Art and literature (all types including poetry)
I hate sport

Does this make me a geek?

no...watching family guy doesn't make you count as anything...family guy is evil

the rest almost make you a nerd <<

'tis shiek to be geek.

Hi gamers, sci-fi, fantasy, romantic, techno, bohemian, thinkers...

So this would be the cult-classic, b-side of lit??

Anyone here play Magic The Gathering or YUGIOH?

family guy -- it's the only sitcom I can stomach.

Hovever i prefer anime -- FLCL, Witch Hunter Robin, Samurai Champloo etc...

and for manga, errr.. hentai... Bondage Fairies anyone?

bondage fairies is funny, but i prefer some of the fanmanga << i hate family guy, for the same reason i hate shows like The Simpsons and American Dad

yes, anime is the w00tz0rs....they need to show GXP on Toonami...i still haven't seen it yet

Wow, quite a geek turnout...
I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I don't think titles like Nerd or Geek are things other people give you.

If, in your mind, you are one of us, then no one can question it.
There are no requirements.

Just my two cents.

any bi geeks out there?

hey!

this is a great thread.

I was wondering if there are any cute bi curious geeks around?

my friend and i are starting our first hot bi male relationship as soon as we go on a trip this summer and would love to find kinky guys, girls and couples to become friend with and hangout with us and perhaps come along with us.

we are really funny and plan on hiking a little and reading a lot. Beside streams and the like while traveling together for a few months. We are more into girls, but just have a hard time not being totally into loving eachother at the same time. So we are looking for some company pretty soon.

pm me whoevers interested !
we will probably get underway in mid june or so. and i have no idea where we are going. so its a real hot adventure.

Hey,

Do you hate Family Guy cos of the art, or the whole show? I love the Simpsons, and KOTH, but I only dislike Family Guy and American Dad cos of the art.

Oh, Hentai is the bomb, 'kay?

i hate the show itself...all of them suck << the only TV worth watching is Toonami and SciFi Fridays

I'd have to agree, the art on Family guy is not extroidinary -- but no less fantastic than the Simpson's, Futurama, or even Teen Titans.

Nothing beats the qualities of incredible anime. FLCL had so many ground breaking techniques -- the manga style scenes were extremely costly to produce but so worth it as far as I was concerned.

I thought Samurai Jack was very well done -- the water color backgrounds were astounding. And yet the harsh use of blacks and silhouettes gave it almost an industrial or tribal art feel. I was never unimpressed artistically by an episode.

I think Family guy's slap stick, vulgar hunor is more three-stooges like in appeal -- making it a instant hit with us mindless men:)

As for the latest from William Street on adult swim -- god please stop! I can handle another cheap production shock cartoon. Really -- it was funny once or twice but move on. Anymore the William Street productions are like a 4th year animation class project, lacking in substance and trying too hard to be funny.

A new Season of Big-O would be so much more desirable.

Does anyone else want a Meatwad of their very own? I'm totally addicted to Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which I think is enough to make me a total geek.

Damn puter... I'm not geek enough to figure out why it made me post the same thing twice, but I can come back and fix it...

Keep in mind reading this post that I do like several anime series, so I'm not just trying to start a huge arguement or insult everyone. However, I also am a fan of American animation and TV.

Everyone always talks about how the quality of drawing/animation in anime is so much better than that of American animation. However, in several series, especially one of my favorites, Rurouni Kenshin, constantly has the thing where they draw they eyes and eyebrows OVER the hair! This annoys me to no end.

And I will agree that the stories are far more involved in Asian cartoons as opposed to American cartoons, but sometimes I don't want something all serious and involved, where I have to have seen the previous 20 episodes to have an idea of what's going on. Sometimes I just want to watch and laugh at random stuff for 30 mins.

I agree. While I like the complexity of anime story lines, and the fact that they have a beginning and and end to the story (opposed to the never ending until the ratings die western method), Good cartoons are good cartoons.

Venture Brothers rules -- it's like Jonny Quest meets Hanna Barbara. And Harvey Birdman was pretty darn cool as well.

But, since geek has many facets -- how about movies and books;

Sci-Fi anyone?

New Jedi Order?
Stargate?

I was never a huge Star Trek fan, though I know Rydia is.

And I did like Xena (the princess warrior) -- so I guess that makes me a lesbian trapped in a man's body :D

hahahah

New to the thread, kind of a geek here. Angry computer geek who dresses in black and listens to industrial >.>

Hmmm. I'll take all of the above, with an extra side of Birdman.
So good! :p
