Yep, a 24 hour Gay TV station is on the way. Could BDSM TV be far behind? The far right Christians are going to have a tissy.

I doubt you will spark much debate with the lit crowd. Gay TV is long overdue, considering we have BET, Univision, Telemundo, Playboy TV, etc.

Hmm.. is it like, gay porn all the time? Or is it gay lifestyle stuff? Are we going to be seeing Anal Dice Fishing 3 or Ellen?

no, don't think it's porn. Stuff like the teletubbies and men's ice skating and Ellen.

hee hee Dom ...

you yanks are ancient sometimes ... it's old news darling ....

in Canada, Pridevision TV (all gay programming) has been on air since September '01 ...

Hey wait a minute

Some of us like ice skating even men ice skating. So if that is gay, then we already have it.

Personally, I prefer to just see any kind of sex on TV. :D

saves money on porno rentals. :)

well we had it even longer ... although it wasnt a whole channel we had a weekly gay tv programme that was aired on terrestrial tv for about 3 to 4 years ... it was rubbish though so i never watched it :p

Dont forget Sex Tv the channel with its softcore pron movies all night...

Don't you think gay men and lesbians should have separate channels? I imagine the two would have very different viewing interests ...

well my goodness ... here is a link for you to check out exactly what kind of programming an all gay station would have ....

http://www.pridevisiontv.com/

and sexygirl ... i don't think you would consider this programming rubbish ... the documentaries / interviews are great ..

I watched Red Dwarf on that station too ... hilarious btw if you haven't seen it ... very "off the wall" which i love ...

and i actually saw a few Rock Hudson / Doris Day movies on there too ... i love those old movies ... they are so damn hokey they become "camp" ... :)

oh and you can be sure i won't be missing the upcoming Barry Manilow special .... not ... ha ha ha ....

and yea Pheonyx dear SexTV is great ... but i don't care for those soft porn flics ... simulated sex you know ... it ain't real ... that is a turn off for me ... but some of the other programming is amazing ... documentaries with extremely explicit scenes / interviews with real people ... now that i love ....

but alas we gave up all that programming last w/e when the "free previews" ended ... the total cost of all the new "specialty channels" <SexTV and Pride are only a couple of about twenty> the total cable bill would cost with taxes $100 / month .... geez ... i never thought i would live to see the day that people would pay $100 a month for cable .... ha ha now i sound like an old lady ...

in my day .... ha ha ha .... we had no remote controls .... we had to get up and change the channels the hard way ... and we had like five channels to choose from ... ha ha ha ... but no cable charges .... nada ... but no sex on tv either .... lol ...

P.S.

oops ....

I also want to say that on that station SexTV, they also feature programming about sex from England and Australia ... and wow ... some of that stuff really blew me away ...

like male stripping in England ...

and documentaries from Down Under that showed everything ... welll ... down under ... if you know what i mean ... lol ... ;)

soooo i was very surprised to see how liberal Aussie television really is ... i think .... n'est-ce pas?

I want my SCTV. Probably will take forver for you to figure out what I mean by that. As for the question, I said yes. It's great that Showtime is breaking new ground with Queer As Folk. Gay & Lesbian Sex...YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!

eh, Nasty?

Second City Television ....

i love Catherine O'Hara and Martin Short ....

RIP John Candy ...

*beep*

Wrong. Try again. Think about my nick, and you'll get it.

It already is...

on t.v. You have to consider that there are quite a few programs w/ gays on it. Ellen, Will & Grace, Survivor, Big Brother, etc. Been there and done that.

I think the only bridge left to pass is the all gay sex channel.

damn good idea

I don't know if it's long overdue, but I would not mind watching as long as it was not too far-left

Truth be told, I would no doubt watch it more than anything else.

Now that's nasty ....

wellll ok i thought about it all damn night ...

and <hanging my head in shame> alas, i have no idea what SCTV stands for <except for Second City Television> ....

is it like "Sucks Cock Television" ...

or does "TV" stand for Transvestite? .... i give up ...

please tell me ... pleeeeeeeeeease ....

Ya know, I realized after I posted that there really is an SCTV. But, do you know what my fetish is? Scat. Or, in abbr. SC, and, the TV goes without saying.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ....

god damn ... i am so innocent sometimes ..... lol ... no seriously ... i mean ... yikes ....

and the TV goes without saying? you mean as in Transvestite? ...

Gay TV

The U.S. already has TV shows with gay males and lezbians. A TV channel primarily for those and similar shows would be a smart marketing strategy. All identifiable groups in a culture that have a specific venue they are able to identify with will seek out that venue.

All of us seek approval or recognition from our peers. Even the homophobics. Here's one straight male that gives it a thumbs up.
