I am thinking of moving to New Mexico by September, but would like to know about the gay and lesbian life there. Is there anyone out there with some personal insight? Please share with me....thank you!

Please let me know if you have any insight! Thank you!

Oh my GOD! There are not Gay or Lesbian cool places in NM! I'm going to HELL! Help me...

I don't know anything about New Mexico, I've never been there, sorry; but I understand your frustration.

I do hope someone has some advice or information for you though.

GLB in NM

It all depends on where you are in New Mexico. Santa Fe is only second to San Francisco per capita for gay population. Albuquerque also has a good presence.
But if you get into some of the smaller towns, forget it.

The bad news:

I did a search of databases on two other adult sites for New Mexico and found only 2 Gay men, no Gay women and no bisexuals at all.

In fact it looks like there is no sex in New Mexico.

The good news:

Currently, New Mexico has no public policy, law or pending legislation regarding same-sex marriage.

I have a friend (bi) who moved from NM to CA, she seems so much happier now. Sorry...that is all I have, but when I am looking into moving...I vacation there first. If you can afford too, try that.

Thank you!

Thanks everyone!

I used to live in CA. Too expensive for me, but an AWESOME gay life.
I was planning on moving to a larger city, but it's great advice to vacation first. I have already decided to book a trip this summer. I have vacationed there in the past and found everything to be pretty positive as far as making it a home.
Great news about the same-sex marriage laws. Doesn't do anything for me at this point yet, though.
Dry and hot? I live in WI right now, and used to surf in CA. Dry is a state of mind...I am rarely dry, if you don't mind me saying so. Especially if a hot woman is around. (Sorry...piggy of me, but true)

Okay...thanks again, everyone who replied.

I lived in NM for like 5years, and there really isn't alot of bi/gay people. In the town I lived in, if you admitted it you got shit til you left, and everyone knew. Small town life I guess. I don't know much about the bigger towns though.
