Gaslighting oneself?

I got a 92. But a simple test like this can't be that accurate.

I pay attention to criminal records. Convictions give you up. But law enforcement hires plenty of criminals with no records till they become cops.

"Gaslighting" was in use in the 60s to refer to persuading someone that their memory/perception was faulty. It did derive more from the film than the earlier play.

In the 60s, too, I was once charged with "assaulting an officer." Fortunately, the judge didn't buy the story that I "struck his fist with my jaw." Other than that, sorry to say, James, my worst cited offence was "walking on the ice on Prospect Park Lake."
