Gas Prices have More Than Doubled Since Biden Took Office

Fuel prices in the UK are almost 2x as in the United States.

Do we blame Carter or Obama?

If the oil companies were simply passing off cost increases to customers they wouldn't be making record profits, you dumbass.

Go ahead and keep throwing out lame insults, it's all you have.
Gas prices double since Joe takes office and that hurts anyone that gets up every day to drive to their job...real pain for those families. Then there is no baby formula to be found. Electric blackouts affecting more and more communities. Oh, and what food there is is becoming more expensive. The light at the end of the tunnel is November elections coming.

The last time the Trumplitards made waves in the mid-terms they failed to do anything with it.

I fully expect that the right has policies that fix every problem that they blame the left for as soon as they are elected.

They should promise the Wall along with Repeal & Replace - it duped the idiots in 2016.

Worth noting the Dems promised a ton of things that they failed to deliver as well, though I think inflation has eclipsed any fallout from that.

Double...fuck that....we will triple gas prices so that our oil industry shows record profits you will not have ever seen before. Anyone, not into oil right now missed the boat. Fuck...I thought I was making a killing off of land

Plenty of people saw this coming five decades ago. There's no magic way out of the end of fossil fuels. The nation was briefly halfway serious about energy conservation and decided fuck that. Now we are starting to fall down the slope of peak oil instead of walking down.

NATIONAL AVERAGE PRICE OF GAS SPIKES TO $5/GAL, CRUSHING PREVIOUS RECORD

Average gas prices are up 66c/gal in the last month as gasoline supply tightens

The national average price of gas in the U.S. surpassed $5 per gallon today for the first time ever, according to GasBuddy, the leading fuel savings platform saving North American drivers the most money on fuel. This long-anticipated milestone comes behind months of gas price increases across the country, accelerated by the rise in seasonal demand amidst supply constraints borne out of the pandemic.

Gas prices have surged in recent weeks as U.S. gasoline inventories have fallen over 25 million barrels, or over one billion gallons, since the start of March amidst a global decline in refining capacity due to the Covid-19 pandemic and accelerated demand going into the summer. The price of oil has also jumped due to escalations stemming from the Russian war on Ukraine, as countries choke off Russian oil supply via sanctions, pushing supply down at a time of rising demand. In addition, U.S. refining capacity has fallen by some 1 million barrels per day over the last three years. All of these factors have created an environment ripe for a surge in gas prices, while Americans balk at prices but continue filling up as demand has seen little decline.

Gas price records set in 2022:

March 5: National average price of gas breaks $4/gal for the first time since 2008

March 7: National average price of gas breaks previous record; $4.10/gal

March 10: Average price of gasoline peaks at $4.35/gal

April 29: Average diesel prices reach new all-time high; $5.16/gal

May 5: March record broken; prices rise above $4.35/gal

“It’s been one kink after another this year, and worst of all, demand doesn’t seem to be responding to the surge in gas prices, meaning there is a high probability that prices could go even higher in the weeks ahead,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “It’s a perfect storm of factors all aligning to create a rare environment of rapid price hikes. The situation could become even worse should there be any unexpected issues at the nation’s refineries or a major hurricane that impacts oil production or refineries this summer.”

In order to save money on summer travel, GasBuddy recommends drivers shop around for the best gas prices, and always pay with a gas card or gas rewards credit card. Drivers should also take advantage of gas station loyalty programs, and drive more cautiously in order to increase fuel efficiency.

Joe reaches another career milestone.

One day you'll read the entire link.

That literally means that big oil is gouging Americans and your wish for it to be the President's fault is bunk.

But we do appreciate you speaking truth to power. ;)

Worth noting the Dems promised a ton of things that they failed to deliver as well, though I think inflation has eclipsed any fallout from that.
That the Dems failed to deliver or that the Republicans (and Manchin and Sinema) blocked?

I see your point, I'm just not convinced there's anything the Dems could have done.
That's why you don't promise what you can't deliver. The problem right now is that they should be passing what they can deliver.

We have Donald Trump and his fantastic deal making for the rise in gas prices. Back on April 2020 Trump reached a deal with OPEC, Mexico, Saudia Arabia and Russia to decrease oil prices. This deal was to expire in April 2022. This means oil supplies would have been low keeping oil prices high. It also means between Russian sanctions and summer travel oil suppliers would jack up prices leading Trump Retards to blame Biden for the mess Trump created.

Why are you pretending Manchin and Sinema are not Democrats. Both the Republicans and the Democrats blocked it. That's what Democrats do. They give financial and moral support to conservatives who they know will block any and all meaningful legislation. This, "I'm shocked! Shocked that right wing conservative Democrats will vote with Republicans and kill all our most important legislation." is beyond pathetically naive at this point.

I see your point, I'm just not convinced there's anything the Dems could have done.
How about not supporting right wing conservatives in your party to the tune of millions of dollars year after year? I know that goes against inside the beltway DC cocktail circuit orthodoxy and is completely outside the Overton window of accepted opinions broadcast on corporate owned media outlets, but bloody hell. Even a fucking moron knows you don't put foxes in charge of the hen house.

Biden’s approach could affect you in ways you may not have considered. Because U.S. production is falling, it creates a global shortage, which contributes to rising prices. Rising prices affect the price of goods and services because of increasing transportation costs. However, what if it could leave you to defend yourself while Democrats work feverishly to disarm you?

The Isabella County Sheriff’s office in Michigan has already blown through its entire fuel budget for the year. To keep costs down, they plan to respond to some non-emergency calls by phone to try and resolve them. As any law enforcement officer can tell you, a non-emergency can quickly become an emergency. This policy may result in needless tragedies in a large county with longer travel times.

How many other rural and exurban counties could run into a similar issue? The cost of sending first responders has increased dramatically. The average price per gallon in Michigan is over $5.00. Last year the national average was $3.06. It hovered around $2.50 on Biden’s Inauguration Day. And our Commander in Chief told us plainly that we should not expect to return to lower prices anytime soon. He told Americans, “The idea we’re gonna be able to, you know, click a switch, bring down the cost of gasoline is not likely in the near term.” During the week after he sent that message, the average price jumped around $0.25.

True, and I doubt the GOP will do anything of ANY value with it this time.

But at least the woke left won't be in power.... you and yours won't be able to further destroy/threaten the rest of us with your insanity.

That's all that really matters.

Or the Extremist Green policies of BoJo?

It's all adding up to a perfect storm.

China is headed towards the financial shitter. Their zero Wuhan Flu policy has crippled their production as well adding to the inflationary spiral. Then there's the Russian bullshit in Ukraine. It has exasperated the inflationary pressures started by Biden's energy policies. We haven't even begun to see that end effects on food yet either.

B-b-b-b-but, the upside is that they aren't producing and shipping fertilizer to us.

Fertilizer is very, very bad for the environment.

The Gulf fish are very happy now!

Yeah buddy.

All of the new diesel tractors have those fancy anti-pollution systems that require that the engines go through a regen every so many hours of operation. This requires a special urea based fluid, DEF.

The price of DEF has doubled in the past month.

In case you didn't notice, urea is also a essential chemical used by agriculture and requires heat, usually provided by Methane, to manufacture.

Are we having fun yet?

You mean the, "We told you so," phase?
