Americans will be losing jobs!

- the news tonight.

yes. blame obama. gas prices are too low. the world market is going to kill our jobs.

yesterday i was in line behind a truck with a bumper sticker blaming obama for gas prices rising over $4.

no matter what, obama is at fault. there is no winning here.

in other news, climate change is real, but if you want to persuade our farmers to change their practices, you can't mention climate change. you must say your plan is to combat drought and soil toxicity. EPA restrictions = a communist society, but now we may actually need to do something, but we can't use the technical terminology, because that has been demonized.

also - if you want to truly celebrate christmas, you need to rid the world of homosexuality via mass extermination. anything less is a sin.

this is the shit i live in and around. i do not understand the masses and can't stand the money hoarding politicians and people who fund them to spew this shit.

Have you taken note of Rimmy's AV?

It'll make you lose all interest in politics.

Me, I'm about to set fire to this laptop. brb.

First of all, stop watching the news.

everyone around here watches the news.

for reliable news, i read.

also, weather!

Everything is the prez's fault.

I know this because I am told it all the freaking day long.

I hope he keeps the gas prices at what it is here, it was 2.35 before thanksgiving, its gone up to 2.50 now. Still livable.

Are you fucking telling me we've moved on from everything being Bush's fault? Someone should tell the President.

bush will never be at fault in this state.

Blue sets me on fire, but it's different, no gas involved.

Can we blame him for lower food prices next, I could get behind that.

only if the low food prices are organic!

How can low gas prices be bad?

people are being put out of jobs locally, because they cannot compete with the world market. if gas prices are below $79 a barrel, we cannot afford to drill locally - according to the evening news.

Wouldn't that be awesome.

super awesome. as long as we can live off it. funny thing. shop small town farmer's markets and you can find organic goods half the price as fancy city store organic goods. completly worth the drive for amazing produce.

Yes, I love a farmer's market. In season you can find some good deals.:)

Low fuel prices create jobs. President Obama desires the opposite in order to change behavior and collapse the suburbs. The economic uptick that we are now experiencing is due to a tax cut delivered not by Congress, not by the Administration, certainly not by the EPA who is going to soon deliver a new tax hike to the American people, but by the free market, the efforts of entrepreneurs and investors, and the men and woman who risk all to travel to out of the way places and erect and construct the infrastructure required to extract the energy that has freed us from the manipulators of the market in Riyadh...

Farming now requires an in-depth college education, those men and women know far more about actual Science than I fear you ever will.

We do not celebrate Christmas, we sell it all the while castigating those who do celebrate it with falsehoods such as those uttered here. What, again is desired is that tolerance has been exchanged and supplanted by the desire to change behavior. You can't think that because it offends me, your religion offends me, your morality offends me, your very existence is offensive to me because you're stupid and I'm smart. I'm so smart that I would demand high energy prices and destroy farming to create high food prices and destroy your business and livelihood because you do not believe that bride means any sex at all or even your real doll because I'm going to save the world.

:cool:

You cannot have organic and low pricing because its demand is lower productivity for the illusion of greater health for the planet no matter how many humans end up starving, but who knows? maybe you are in that camp which feels the population must be reduced to make the planet sustainable.

:shrug:

You cannot have the complete collapse of oil prices because eventually supply will be limited as the smaller, less efficient and less Capitalized players drop out of the production queue. There will be a net gain in jobs because people will have more disposable income which will create demand for other goods and services which will allow employers to make plans for the future. Hell, if we got rid of the onerous mandates and demands of the ACA, they could even begin to hire full-time people again with wages and benefits that will allow employees to quit that second minimum wage job and actually raise a family.

Are you fucking telling me we've moved on from everything being Bush's fault? Someone should tell the President.

No, it's still his fault.

Things were so bad when Obama ascended to the WHite House throne that no one really expected him to undo the damage in our lifetime, certainly not our children's and that is why we see the Republicans so fucking unpopular that they will never wield any real power again because in 2008, we consigned them to the ash bin of history, like the Whigs.

:nods:

Don't tell us how to get the car out of the ditch! Don't expect to even get in!

Don't tell us how to hold the mop!

That's nice Eric, but we won.

I have to do it now.

They won.

:mad:

Jesus Chirst... Is anyone else embarrassed by the sheer concept of oil production. Like if you had to explain to an alien why, in a universe of infinite energy, we're fighting for finite resources buried under the ground? Like would you be able to do that? Or would you just kinda... be like, "Dude, I got nothin'."

You do know that all oil is captured solar energy, right?

...and that the sun is also a finite resource. It will eventually burn out.

Is it a finite resource?

Let me ask you a science question. Does carbon fall up? Does it have a negative mass?

Let me assume that your answer is no, it must fall down, it's atomic mass is positive. If it falls down, especially in the form of biomass, over most of the planet, then the majority of it falls to the ocean bed where it accumulates. Tectonics dictate that it will be buried over time, subjected to heat and pressure thusly creating petrochemicals. In light of recent technologies and the discovery of new oil in old wells, one would be remiss to consider the possibility that we might not ever be able to exhaust the chain of creation...

;) ;)

Since the early 70s, we have been told peak oil was right around the corner and that it was time to panic. I guess I'd better panic...

:)

Not before it expands and consumes most every thing between it and Mars...

:D :D :D

Low fuel makes driving the first choice of transportation. Why take a bus when you can drive the SUV? We need (somewhat) clean air to survive.

Low fuel prices provide even less tax funds to be used for infrastructure improvement and replacement. American roads are shit.

Low fuel prices also discourage the research and development of more sustainable and less harmful energy sources. Who needs a device that stores the energy wasted when the brakes on a truck are applied and converts it to energy to assist the rig up the next hill when diesel is only 5 cents a gallon?

Thank you President Obama.

If I try only driving when necessary, to save money, I pay less tax, especially if I go hybrid or electric.

:eek:

If I am now more free to drive, I will drive more, drive in comfort, consume more gas and pay more tax.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who needs it? Someone who thinks if I can get it down to two cents a gallon, I can make a killing due to competition.
Pesticides and fertilizers are derived from fossil fuels, so farmers should be able to use them more liberally while the prices are low!! :p
