Anyone else have these? I have been having attacks since Feb. and went to the Dr finally. Thank God none of the attacks were all that bad (bad enough, but not bad). Had an ultrasound today and could see the stones. So now I have to be referred to a specailist and be scheduled for surgery I guess. Just wondering if anyone else has had the surgery done and if so, how did it go?

I had mine removed laproscopically a few years back. I do not miss the pain, vomiting and lack of sleep. I had a quick recovery and little scaring. Happy happy.

I am also proud to announce yesterdays birth of Sharon, a good sized, prickly kidney stone. I felt better immediately.
LOL

I have read that if you live in the south you have more of a chance of developing these little monsters. You will feel much better afterwards. Good luck.

Yes I had the attacks too . It was the stones blocking the bile duct . Feels like a real bad case of the flu. I had my gallbladder removed because the Dr. said it most likely will happen again. I dont miss it at all. The surgery is real simple now . Its a same day surgery. My Mom had it 2 yrs ago & my younger brother just had it a month ago ..he went back to work 4 days later ( light duties) He feels great now. Good luck to you. Hope you feel better soon :)

I had my gall bladder laproscopically removed a couple of years (two little incisions less than an inch long each, one was actually in my bellybutton, you can't really see it at all), along with several gall stones that they let me keep :)

My grandma started having problems with hers last year, but they were able to stick a tube down her throat and move the gallstones out of the gall bladder and into her intestinal tract and didn't have to remove her gall bladder (don't ask me how, I still don't get it, but this is how she explained it to me) and she was in and out of the hospital the same day.

You're all lucky you were able to have it with the small incisions. I had my gall bladder removed when I was 19. It was so bad that the pains felt like someone was shoving a hot poker through my chest. I would double over in pain and not be able to move. Now, they call gall bladder disease an old woman's disease because they are usually who get it.

I've had some problems since it's been gone. You'll find it's more difficult to lose weight. You may find a need to stay near the restroom after eating any meal. and as to why I think you are all lucky.....here's the scar I got. I was in the hospital for a week. But on the upside..the morphine and demarol were nice....
