Galaxy Patrol (one on one)

Sari looked down at her wrist comm and saw the readings go through the roof of high energy ratings.

"Oh, the cave is hear all right. No doubt about that. But my scans are showing that there's a life form here. Possibly surrounding us." Myo-Oh stated, as she stood on all fours and walked over to Sari and got into a protective, pouncing positiion.

As soon as Myo-Oh said that, Sari happened to look up and saw razor-sharp teeth about ready to chow down on them. "I can understand that Zero can handle anything that is thrown at us, so forgive me for doing this. Shadow Shield!" Sari yelled, as she quickly thrusted both index fingers to the ground. In a flash of black light and silver lightening, an impenetrable shield formed around them just as the teeth came crashing down.

"Ew...whoever those teeth belong to, they drool more than Kayubara." Myo-Oh remarked, as she gave a look of complete disgust.

"I totally agree with you there, Myo-Oh." Sari remarked, as she stood up straight and dusted her fingers off, then unsheathed her sword.

Tanis was wearing the full armor, as several of the teeth break against the energy blades that had replaced his arms briefly. He tore through the teeth one after another, as his eyes scanned the walls around them. One of the blades vanished, replaced with a hand held missile pod, which fired at a specific spot on one of the walls. The wall exploded outwards, revealing an opening and a glowing chamber beyond. He darted back, grabbing Sari and carrying her over one shoulder. He darted for the revealed chamber, waiting at the entrance for the cabbit. When they were all through, the hole vanished as if it had never been there in the first place.

Sari blinked in confusion as Tanis picked her up over his shoulder and jumped through the opening, with Myo-Oh following close behind. "Well, that's not what I had in mind of an idea for an escape, but it sure worked." Myo-Oh commented, as she purred loudly, then watched as Sari teleported out of Tanis' grip and reappeard standing off to the left of the overgrown panther, blushing heavily.

"W-well..um..that was sure close. I'm surprised my Shadow Shield didn't hold up. It usually works well against those attacking me." Sari said, as she put her left hand behind her head and laughed nervously as Myo-Oh raised an eyebrow and looked at Sari.

Myo-Oh snorts. "I'm betting it was because you were distracted. When you're fully focused, it works." Myo-Oh commented, just as a loud roaring could be heard from a far distance, deeper into the cave.

Tanis spoke quietly, studying their surroundings. "We're both distracted. That's why I didn't want to go anywhere near this cave. And now that I think about it.... I'm not so sure this is a cave. It almost feels...alive. It would explain the data I'm seeing. More importantly, I think it's here as a trap for Ryoko. Which would explain why you were drawn into it. It would also explain the barrier and a host of other things about this place. I think whatever's in control here is in that direction."

He started towards the glow, coming from deeper within the cave.

Sari and Myo-Oh looked at each other, then back at Tanis. "I'm really not liking this." Myo-Oh said, as Sari unsheathed her sword quietly, as she and Myo-Oh began to follow behind Tanis.

"If this isn't a cave, then what is it?" Sari questioned, as she looked at the walls more closely to see them actually start to secrete a weird blue film all over the "cavernish-type" walls. "I don't want to alarm you, Sari, but, I think it's probably something's stomach." Myo-Oh thought out loud, as Sari looked down at her feet and saw that the floor was turning to a jello-ish state underneath them as they walked further and further down the bath towards the inner glow of the creature.

Tanis kept walking, scanning his surroundings constantly as they moved closer to the glow. He spoke quietly, in response to the questions and thoughts. "I believe it may be some sort of extradimensional entity. A demon or some such. Readings would be consistent with such a creature. Of course, readings are also consistant with a dimension hopping monster called Tartarus, known for swallowing ships whole."

"So, as it stands, we're in a demon?" Sari questioned, as the grip on her sword's hilt tightened. "That would definitely explain the walls being so disgusting looking. And the smell. It's worse than Ryoko's body odor." Myo-Oh said, as they continued walking towards the glow.

While Tanis was looking ahead, a gaping hole opened up underneath Sari and swallowed her and Myo-Oh. The only thing heard, was the gasping of both Sari and Myo-Oh as they fell through the hole.

Sari and Myo-Oh, back to her cabbit form, found themselves in an overgrown bubble shield when they awoke from their fall.

"Ah. I see you have awoken, Sari. A shame that your mother wasn't along for the journey. I was so hoping to catch both you and her at the same time. And be rid of you both for interfering with my plans!" Kagato yelled, as he materialized outside of the bubble shield.

"But, then again, you will be perfect bait for the next part of my plan. And don't worry about your boyfriend, Sari...He will be in perfect hands." Kagato said, as a flash of light blinded Sari and Myo-Oh for a few moments as Kagato transported himself and his two prisoners back to his ship, which was cloaked from any scanners or systems within the universal realms.

Suddenly, the cave returned to normal, as a woman about 5'9", with short blonde hair, blue eyes, and wearing a black kimono dress stood about two hundred yards in front of Tanis.

The movement was so fast, Tanis hadn't been able to do anything. He hadn't realized they were gone until he heard the sound of the hole in the floor closing. And by then it was too late. He growled inwardly, then closed his eyes, standing that way for some time as he consulted with Zero itself, the mental conversation resulting in knowledge of what happened, but not of where Sari was taken. As the cave around him returned to normal, and a rather statuesque blonde in a kimono stood before Tanis, he opened his eyes. He walked slowly towards the blonde, and came to a stop before her, looking down into her blue eyes.

He regarded her for a long time, without speaking. When he finally did give voice to his thoughts, it was a single word. "Kagato."

The blonde-haired woman looked up into Tanis' eyes and gave an evil smirk that would scare anyone dumb. In a heavy British-ladened accent, the woman took in a deep breath and her smile widened.

"I'm sorry, but Master Kagato can't be disturbed at the moment. He wishes for me to have you disarm yourself of the Amadaru Zero Armor System though." The blonde woman said, as she then leapt back another two hundred yards and produced a pair of twin sai that were glowing with red energy, as she prepared herself against any attack that would more than likely come at her.

Tanis sighed as the woman jumped back, preparing herself for a fight. It figured, Tanis thought, that nothing would ever be easy again. He studied the stance, and the glowing energy of the sai weapons. He stood there, and shook his head. In each hand appeared a large pistol that looked like an old revolver. When he raised one, it was sudden, and fast. The shot was even moreso. The wall behind the woman practically disintegrated as a bolt of energy passed so close to her that it passed through her flowing hair. When he spoke, it was only as a warning.

"You don't want want to fight me. You're not even close to my level."

She blocked the main portion of the bullets streaming by her face by crossing her sais over it and closing her eyes as she felt the attack brush by her hair. 'And to think, Kagato wants me to fight him.' She thought, as she projected a barrier around herself, then lowered the sais from her face, only slightly.

"And what makes you think that I'm your main opponent in this fight?" The woman questioned, as three other people formed out of the shadows behind her, all stronger than she in power and weapon formations.

"Ah, so this is the bloke that Master wants us to disarm?" The older looking male questioned, as his blue hair whipped around him dramatically.

The blonde haired woman lowered her sais completely and pointed the right one at him. "Yep. That'd be the gentleman all right." "Shouldn't be too hard, considering our weapon systems are nearly identical to the Amadaru Zero System. So, we should be fine." The huskier man to the woman's right stated, as all three men appeared to be wearing nearly identical armor as Tanis.

"Personally, I would have rather been selected to do harm to that girl. She looked positively delicious. But, of course, Master Kagato has to be selfish and have all the fun." The youngest of the three males said, as the blonde woman let go of her sais as they disintegrated into thin air, then a black fan appeared in her right hand. "I'll let you boys have your fun now. Try not to harm him too much. Master wants that armor unharmed." The woman ordered, and with a flick of her wrist with the fan, the woman disappeared into a cloud of black rose petals.

The three new guests were not a surprise. But as Zero scanned them, and Tanis interpreted the data, he realized something important. These three were also bonded with an Amadaru weapon system. More amusing, however, was the fact that Zero identified each system. He said nothing as the older looking one questioned in a bad British accent. Nor did he respond at the boasting of the other two. Even when the bulkier man called their systems nearly identical, his expression didn't change.

As the blonde woman disappeared in a swirl of black petals, telling them not to harm him too much, however, his expressionless face curled slightly into a smirk. As the three advanced, he studied them more intently. The older one was likely to be the hardest fight, but the younger was probably the most dangerous. The almost maniacal gleam in the young one's eyes were obvious.

Instead of speaking, he merely adjusted his stance. The handguns vanished, and in their place appeared an oversized scythe that he held with the blade hanging down behind him. Everything about him seemed to change, as if he were an entirely different person before them. The biggest advantage Tanis had wasn't the Zero system. Zero paled in comparison to his own analytical abilities. And with the two of them acting as one, they were an entirely different fight than their opponents would be used to.

~Kagato's Ship~

Sari rubbed her head and stood up to get a better look at her surroundings within the bubble. Myo-Oh scratched her left ear and then meowed.

"This isn't looking so good for us, Sari. When your mother finds out, she's going to come in a blind rage and possibly attempt to kill Kagato. Which, in turn, may kill us in the process. We need to tell Tanis to get Ryoko's temper under complete control before the worst happens." Myo-Oh stated, as Sari nodded her head and then touched her left hand to her forehead.

'I really hope this works. TANIS!!! Tanis, if you hear me, please...PLEASE remain save and alive. Kagato has me and Myo-Oh trapped. He may be planning on baiting my mother. Please, answer me. TANIS!" Sari cried in her mind, as she closed her eyes and prayed that her telepathy powers worked in such a weakened state as she was.

Tanis was surprised to hear Sari's voice in his mind. But that surprise didn't register on his face or in his body stance. He heard her words, and nodded slowly. Zero's mechanical voice came out instead of his own when he spoke. "Mission priorities: Eliminate all opposition. Rescue and extraction of Galaxy Federal Police Officer Sari. Destroy Kagato. Priorities confirmed. Targets designated. Mission: Accepted. Commencing submission one: Eliminate Opposition."

His voice changed only slightly as his stance shifted. "Zero. Show me my enemy." The movement wouldn't have registered to any normal person, but his three opponents were far from normal. Even so, they weren't quite prepared for just how big a difference there was between their capabilities and that of the Zero. Tanis' speed was such that he seemed to vanish, almost not registering on their scanners until it was too late. They barely had time to get their own defenses up before the scythe came down, creating a crater where the bigger one once stood. Even as one tried to attack him from behind, the scythe was still swinging, blocking the attacks without even looking at his opponents.

As they jumped away from him, the Brit spoke. "So, guess it's true what they say. Zero can see the future, mate. But it won't help this bloke. Not in the slightest."

Zero's voice responded, with no emotion whatsoever. "Incorrect. Our advanced sensor system reads the slightest difference in local surroundings, body language, biodata, physiology. Our advanced quantum phase space computer then studies that data in real-time, predicting multiple courses of action and then selecting the most effective one based on probability. Although you have the advantage in numbers, it is negated by the inferior capabilities of your armors, and more importantly, of your hosts. You have no future."

The three fighters stood no chance for the advanced Zero systems. Even though their Master said that there was no chance alive in Hell that they'd match up to the real system, fighting Tanis would be a great honor in itself. Before the three could do anything to parry the moves or block Tanis' attacks, they found themselves quickly out-numbered and out-matched.

Soon, after a big flash of white because of Tanis' quick destruction of the three males, Maruka, Ayeka, and Tenchi all ran into the cave, battle gear on and ready for a fight. But, when they saw nobody but Tanis standing still, Maruka became quickly worried.

"Tanis, where is my sister? Where's Sari?" Maruka questioned, as the worry in her voice quickly escalated.

"Man, this can't be good." Tenchi stated, as he scratched his head and sighed.

"No kidding. Ryoko....We must warn Ryoko." Ayeka stated, as she turned and looked at Maruka an Tenchi, as they both nodded their heads slowly, even though, it probably wasn't the wisest course of action, but it was the only thing to come up with on a short notice.

Tanis dusted himself off, letting the scythe vanish as his last opponent fell. He turned to look at Maruka, Ayeka, and Tenchi, and tilted his head. At their question, he glanced upwards. He spoke calmly, quietly, a bit of the mechanical tone of the weapon system leaking in. "Commencing second and third priorities. Rescue GFP Officer Sari and destroy the criminal known as Kagato."

He accessed the controls of the ship they'd come in, and walked slowly from the cave, scanning their surroundings. He looked up, scanning as far as Zero's telescoping vision field allowed, then turned back towards the house at a run.

"Where on Earth is he going?" Ayeka questioned, as Maruka sighed heavily.

"I think he went to go see if he could outfly Kagato's ship to retrieve my sister and Myo-Oh before Ryoko learns of her kidnapping ahead of him. We all know how Ryoko's temper is. And it's not something to be joking about when it comes to Sari's well-being at stake." Maruka thought out loud, as she re-sheathed her sword, and Tsubushi meowing in agreement of what Maruka had stated.

"Well, we all know that once Ryoko hears of it, she'll go into a blind rage at any rate. And none of us will be able to stop her." Tenchi remarked, just as Maruka closed her eyes and sighed again as she and Ayeka nodded slowly. Maruka raised her hands above her head, then arced them down in a fast manner.

In no time at all, she had managed to transport herself, Ayeka and Tenchi to the house.

"WHAT?! That no good for nothing....He has my Sari?! He's going to pay for that!" Ryoko screamed, as a large explosion took place inside the house, as Ryoko took to the air, with Ryo-Ohki in the crook of her arms. As she got 1,000 feet up above the Masaki house, Ryoko threw Ryo-Ohki up into the air and ordered the confused cabbit to transform into her ship form.

After Ryo-Ohki completed her ship transformation process, Ryoko transformed into her battle gear and together, the two of them went in search of Kagato's ship.

Maruka sweatdropped and sighed. "I see I need to learn on my transportation spells when it comes to something this important."

Tanis watched Ryoko, and frowned. Then he ran up the boarding ramp of the ship they'd arrived in, already getting it started up. He stopped suddenly, then turned around, and waited for the others. He had a feeling he'd need the help in reigning in Ryoko, or at least getting her to serve as a distraction. Once they were onboard the cruiser, he climbed into the pilot seat, taking off into the atmosphere at high speed. He followed Ryoko at first, then scanned the surrounding space with Zero's sensors again.

He made a sudden change in direction, and took off straight towards Kagato's ship. He looked at the others, then stood up. "One of you will have to fly this ship. I'm going to have to get ready for a rather large fight. And I need to make sure Sari has everything she needs to ensure her own escape."

Mihoshi and Kiyone blinked, then both took the controls. "We got this. No problem." Mihoshi stated happily, as Maruka walked over and placed her left hand on Tanis's right shoulder.

"I'm coming too. She's my sister. And....if anything happens to her...." Maruka stated, as Tsubushi growled, as Kagato's cloaked ship came up on the ship's sensors. Everyone watched in awe, as Ryo-Ohki sent off blast after blast, trying to de-cloak the ship and to provoke a fight.

~Inside Kagato's Ship~
Sari stood up when she felt the first blast against the ship. Myo-Oh jumped up into Sari's arms and growled, as Kagato re-appeared. "Foolish woman. Thinking that attacking my ship will do anything. It'll take more than that to destroy my ship." Kagato stated, as a blast managed to penetrate through in front of Kagato, which made him extremely angry.

Tanis nodded, grabbing a duffel bag. He started filling it with weaponry from the small cruiser's armory, and busied himself with a plan. Once he was ready, he nodded again to Maruka. Then he let Zero take over, the full armor system appearing as he headed for the air lock. He sent a short message to Mihoshi's console, telling her to try to ram into Kagato's ship and get them inside. Then he waited for the moment of impact so that he could finish his mission.

Once they crashed into Kagato's ship, with a compliment to Kiyone's shooting and Mihoshi's piloting, he jumped down the boarding ramp, letting Maruka follow behind. Navigating the ship would take a while, he thought. And he had a feeling that Kagato would be right near Sari.

"SARI!" Ryoko screamed, as she teleported from Ryo-Ohki and onto Kagato's ship, her orange swords a glowing, as she glared at Kagato. "Release her." Ryoko ordered, as her anger seemed to radiate in the swords, making them more menacing to use.

"Release who? Oh, your daughter? Now, why would I do that for? She's the reason why I lured you to your doom.....Ryoko." Kagato laughed, as few strikes of powerful energy zapped Sari, making her scream. Myo-Oh mewed, not knowing what she could do to help Sari, since she could almost feel the pain that Sari was going through.

"Kagato! STOP IT! I'm the one you want, not her. Leave her alone!!" Ryoko said, as she charged Kagato, engaging in a very bloody and anger-filled sword fight until Tanis and Maruka showed up.

The sudden change in pressure from Ryoko's fighting filled the air. It made it seem a bit heavier around them, as Tanis made his way through the ship. It was almost a disaster as Tanis rounded a corner and then ducked back just in time to avoid a massive blast of energy. He frowned, waiting for it to dissipate, then darted around the corner. He was less reckless than Ryoko was, but the sudden attack was no less furious as he opened up with full force at Kagato, firing bursts from twin tribarreled miniguns.

Sari looked up from her weakened state and through her blurred vision, she saw Tanis and her mother attack Kagato from both sides, while Myo-Oh attempted to get Sari to either sit up or up onto her feet.

Maruka materialized a large scythe with a glowing purple blade, as she attempted to break the bubble shield to get to Sari. Before Maruka could swing the scythe, another round of electric attacks hit Sari with more force and energy, sending her into unconsciousness after screaming.

Myo-Oh looked at Maruka worriedly, then attempted to transform, but the bubble shield was preventing her from doing so.

Sari had one thought before succumbing to the pain..."Ta...ni....s..."
