Galaxy Patrol (one on one)

"I heard Ryoko got out again." A female voice said across the hall from the suite as they passed by the door. "Yeah. Apparently, the warden wouldn't let her do Family Visiting Day here at the headquarters, so she blew up her cell in retaliation and left for Earth. Again." Another voice answered, as a third sighed heavily.

"Poor, Sari. I'm betting anything Commander Mizuru is going to make her go after her mother again. Seeing as she's the only one strong enough to restrain her." A male voice stated.

Tanis tilted his head, having been about to turn away when he heard the name Ryoko. He frowned, putting his hand on a nearby computer terminal keyboard and searching the database. Images passed by quickly, until one in particular came to his attention. He whistled slowly at the sight of the space pirate, Ryoko. "Not bad. Not bad at all." He read her file quietly after that, then laughed. "Only one strong enough? Not likely, considering she was imprisoned for a thousand years by a Juraian prince on Earth of all places."

Sari walked in and sat on her bed, as her red and white furred cabbit, Myo-Oh, bounded to her and meowed happily. "Hello, Myo-Oh." Sari greeted, as she hugged the cabbit closely, and noticed that not only did she share a partnership with Tanis, but she also shared a suite with him. 'Amazing that Myo-Oh didn't growl her dislike of him. Oh, well.' Sari thought, as she petted her cabbit casually.

"Who was imprisoned for a thousand years?" Sari asked, as Myo-Oh's ears perked up and she snorted in annoyance.

Tanis blinked, surprised to hear Sari's voice. He turned to one of the doors, and saw her sitting on a bed in it, petting a cabbit. He tilted his head, regarding the creature, then realized something. He needed a ship of his own. He frowned, then turned to look at the others, but only for a few seconds. When he turned back to look at her, he spoke quietly. "Your mother spent a thousand years trapped by a Juraian sword in a shrine on Earth. She was released by the grandson of a Juraian prince, who was raised on earth. Apparently, she took quite the liking to him. As did a 'mad genius', two princesses, a space ship, and two Galaxy Police officers. Make that two space ships. Apparently one of the princesses became the avatar of the Juraian royal flag ship, Tsunami."

He shrugged, and then turned back to the terminal, studying information on it. When he spoke again, it was to fire a question over his shoulder. "Any ideas on where I can get a ship? Nothing too fancy, something I can fix up will be fine."

Myo-Oh snorted once again and then mewed. "Oh, relax, Myo-Oh. I'm sure he's harmless. Well, save for the armor. So, just relax and nothing bad will happen, I promise." Sari said, as Myo-Oh mewed her indignation once again, but Sari calmed her by petting her back.

"A ship? Hmm...No clue. At least, not right off hand. Taru'd be able to tell you though." Sari answered, as her wrist comm started to beep loudly.

"Sari, you are needed in my office. At once. And bring your cabbit." Commander ordered, as her face appeared on the small screen. "Yes, Commander. Let's go, Myo-Oh. Taru should be in shortly, Tanis. You can ask him about the ship thing." Sari said, as she quickly grabbed her sword, tied it on her back, grabbed her back up weapon and stuck it in her thigh holster, as Myo-Oh quickly jumped up and landed on Sari's head.

"We'll be right back." Sari said, as she quickly ran out of the room, taking a sharp left, then booking it as fast as she could run to the nearest elevator.

Tanis didn't have the time to argue, as she took off, running down the hall. He frowned, then turned his attention back to the data, looking through personnel files and a variety of other information. It took him only about two hours to memorize ninety percent of the database. That was when a guy with bright green hair came in and introduced himself as Taru, and said that he heard through Sari about Tanis' question regarding space ships. Tanis removed his hand from the computer, and took a seat on his bed, conversing with the young man. It was a long conversation, and at the end of it he had a few good ideas and Taru had a few contacts in the works to help.

After a brief de-briefing of the situation about her mother, Sari sighed, and nodded her head at the Commander's request. Myo-Oh meowed in agreeance and purred as Sari scratched under her chin.

"Now, I know this is an inconvenience...Princess. But, you must be sure to restrain your mother completely. You may even have to sedate her to the point of near destruction if she doesn't comply with the rules. This is the thirteenth time she broke out!" Commander Mizu exclaimed, as Sari slightly cringed, as she remembered most of the times her mother broke out of her prison cells just so that she could see her daughter.

Her father, Prince Jukotsu of Mirosa, a nearby planet close to Jurai, made sure that Sari was only given a handful of chances to know who her mother was, some of them before she joined the Galaxy Police Academy. The sword in her back sheath, was a gift from her father, stating that it was the Sword of Storms, powerful enough to defeat any demon, began to glow a dim silver aura. So far, it was able to persevere against her mother's rages and attacks. Once again, it was going to be used to make sure that it kept up to it's name and dangerous reputation.

"Now, I know you're used to going to Earth solo, but, with Kagato still roaming about, you may want to take some back up with you. I know Myo-Oh would be able to sustain anything your mother throws at you two, but not Kagato and his ship, Tusuri. It'd be best to have someone there....just in case. I'll allow you to chose who goes, Sari. You leave in 24 hours. I suggest you get some sleep and prepare for a long flight to Earth." Commander Mizu ordered, as Sari bowed, then walked back to her room, as she jumped up in the air and floated to the very top of her ten shelf book case.

There, she reached for an old black book, a red and gold cigar box, and a red and black striped duffel bag. Myo-Oh jumped on the bed, and snuggled into a tight ball on the pillow. If she was going to be Sari's royal transportation, she needed to be at her best. In no time flat, she was making cute mewing noises in her sleep.

Tanis was sitting in a chair in Sari's room when she returned. He'd listened in on the entire briefing, on a hunch. And he pondered the implications. Ryoko was one of the few people who could match Kagato at all, according to records. But Kagato seemed to have found a new target, thanks to the weapon system that even now was calculating probabilities in Tanis' head. It had come to several conclusions, and Tanis knew that they were most likely accurate. So when Sari didn't notice him, he spoke.

"You know, if Kagato has been after your mother for so many centuries, I think I may now understand why I ended up with this weapon system. Kagato was looking for a way to beat her. I'm pretty sure the Zero is capable of it. However, now that I have it, I'm most likely a significant target for him. That means he'll come after me again. It might not be the best of ideas to remain here. It may put the officers and cadets here in danger."

"Eh...well then...that just made my decision for me. To save the other officers and the civilians who live here, it would be just as well that you came with us. At least, this way, Kagato will be caught off guard. And knowing how my mother is, it probably wouldn't hurt to have.....bait, I mean...a distraction there with me." Sari said, as she put the cigar box and the old, dusty black book in the red and black duffel bag, along with several outfits, then sat the bag down on the floor next to the bed.

Tanis nodded at her response. Though the idea of being live bait for her mother was a bit disconcerting, everything in Ryoko's file indicated it was a good idea. He had already packed his bags up, having had a feeling that they'd be leaving. Then he turned to look at her, studying her intently. "You realize we'll need a ship. One a bit less conspicuous than your pet. Taru found one for me, but we'd have to hurry, and we might need a bit of money for it." He accessed a nearby display, and showed her the ship in question, an old unmarked military vessel that had been recently confiscated from pirates. As a result, it was significantly overpowered compared to its base specs.

Sari looked at Tanis, then back to Myo-Oh, who was twitching her feet while in her sleep, then sighed. "Less conspicuous? Myo-Oh has the ability to cloak herself from any ship's radar. She's used it against Kagato's ships plenty of times before. But, I'm sure she'd appreciate the break." Sari said, as she sat down on the bed, then looked over at Tanis' side of the room and saw that he was already packed and rearin to go.

"We don't leave for few hours yet. I'm going to go to the Cafeteria and see if I can get Sanoma to cook up some treats for us on the way there. Be back soon." Sari said, as she stood back up and strode out of the room.

Tanis nodded again, then got to work securing the funds to both acquire and fuel the ship, and make sure they were ready to go when they needed to. Taru helped him procure some weaponry, just in case, and by the time Sari got back, he was putting the finishing touches on a special order that would be waiting for them at the docks. He shouldered his bags, and nodded to her.

"Well, we're ready to go. The commander brought something in for us. Apparently she thought it would help when she found out I was hacking the databases trying to get a ship. It allowed us to fully outfit the pirate ship and then some. Oh, and she got us a blackbox to cover up our ID for the trip."

Sari picked up her duffel bag and slung it over her shoulder. "Myo-Oh, we're leaving. Time to wake up now." Sari ordered, as the red and white furred cabbit woke up, stretched fully and mewed while jumping up onto her shoulder, looking at Sari confusedly.

"Relax, Myo-Oh. We won't need you to transform this trip. At least, not until we get to Earth." Sari said, as she patted Myo-Oh on the head as Myo-Oh purred with delight with not being used directly.

Sari looked at her wrist communicator as it beeped loudly. "Yes, Taru?" Sari questioned, as she looked down at the communicator as Taru's face appeared on screen.

"Just thought I'd give you a quick, 'Be careful' before you take off. From what we're hearing in the Command Center, Kagato's a bit sore at you for the last time you interfered with him attempting to fight your mother. He may intend to attack you while you're doing this favor for the Commander." Taru warned, as Sari smirked, as Myo-Oh growled. "Right. He'll have his hands full if he tries." Myo-Oh remarked, as she raised her ears, then blushed, since she forgot Tanis was still in the room.

"On another note, your half-sister Maruka will be there to assist you. She's visiting Ayeka and Sasami while on vacation. I did you a favor and sent her a fair warning of what's going on here. She said to tell you to also be careful." Taru reported, as Myo-Oh's ears perked up and meowed loudly.

"Well, that's good news. The more the merrier when it comes to fighting Kagato." Sari noted, as Taru's face disappeared. Sari looked up at Tanis, as he looked a bit surprised at Myo-Oh's brief verbal outburst, then sweatdropped. "Come along, Myo-Oh. Time to go see which ship we get to commandeer this time around." Sari said, as she calmly walked out of the room, her heels clicking down the hallway.

Tanis raised an eyebrow at the unfolding conversation, then followed Sari. At least until they reached the dock, where he tapped her on the shoulder. He pointed towards a sleek, startlingly clear military pursuit craft at one of the berths. "That's our ship. Looks like they finished adding the extra weapons. We should be ready to go any time."

He headed up to the uniformed woman in front of the ship, a species of alien that looked distinctly feline, and rather curvy. But the lack of military gloves immediately betrayed the dangerous nature of the woman. Her long, tapering fingers were tipped not in fingernails, but sharp talons. She was also sans boots, and her smile as they saw them revealed rows of razor sharp teeth. After verifying their IDs, the woman handed them each a packet with fake IDs in it for their mission, then saluted, before walking away.

Sari and Myo-Oh looked at her fake ID and nearly cringed at the thought of holding it. "Isn't having fake identities a bit......over kill?" Sari questioned, as Myo-Oh pawed at the fake identification card so she could get a better look at it.

Suddenly, Sari's wrist comm began to beep once again, but with a more urgent chirp. Myo-Oh meowed loudly when she saw that the incoming call was Sari's father.

Sari sighed, then blew a deep breath as she answered her wrist communicator.

"Daughter, I take it you are all prepared to go re-capture your mother?" King Jukotsu questioned, as Sari nodded her head. Luckily, her father hated video feeds, so she didn't really have to worry about her appearance this time around.

"Yes, Father. I am. Myo-Oh is up to date on all her virus checks, her weaponry is all in code, and she's ready for anything." Sari replied, as Jukotsu breathed a heavy sigh.

"Good. And your battle armor?" Jukotsu questioned, as Sari looked briefly down at her duffle bag, then back to the wrist comm. "Don't worry, Father. I am taking it with me. Lord knows, I can't fight mother without it." Sari replied, as Jukotsu hummed a "good" in the wrist comm, then immediately disconnected, since he got the information he needed.

Tanis started carrying their bags up into the ship quickly as Sari spoke with her father. Once he'd stowed everything away, he took a seat at the pilot's chair and started to run preflight system checks for launch. He concentrated on those while listening to her long, drawn out conversation with her father. When she finally came on board, he raised the boarding ramp remotely, and started running the various startup procedures. He filed their travel plans, and waited only five minutes for launch clearance.

As the ship left the docking bay, he maneuvered into an outbound lane. Once they cleared the station's orbital path, he accelerated, preparing for the jump to hyperspace.

Sari watched, as the stars glimmered and shined, then let out a heavy sigh. Myo-Oh looked at Sari questioningly, but decided it was best not to interfere with her Mistress' thoughts, for fear of persecution of reading her mind, like she had many times before.

Instead, Myo-Oh curled up in Sari's lap and gazed out at the window as well, since Tanis had took it upon himself to pilot the large ship, when Sari was capable of doing it herself.

"Relax, Myo-Oh. No need to tense up on my account. I'm just thinking is all." Sari said, she smiled and closed her eyes, as Myo-Oh looked up at her and mewed quietly, then looked over at Tanis as he stared at her for a few moments.

Sari noticed his staring at Myo-Oh too, and decided to ask, "Is there something troubling you, Tanis?"

Tanis raised an eyebrow at the question. It was several long moments before he responded with a shrug. "I've read a lot about the mad genius Washu and her work, but I think that's the first of her creations that I've seen up close. Is the bond between you as strong as the bond between Ryoko and her ship, according to records?" He handled the controls expertly, a surprise for someone who had never been a pilot before and certainly nothing as complex as a starship. The ship was large for two people, but was little more than a high speed military cruiser with a few pirate-installed extras.

Sari and Myo-Oh looked at each other and then back at Tanis. "Even more so, actually. Considering Myo-Oh IS Ryo-Ohki's daughter. But, Myo-Oh is a bit more advanced in her ship form, even though Mother tends to not want to admit it." Sari said, as she scratched underneath Myo-Oh's chin, then fingered Myo-Oh's collar playfully.

"I'm quite the match against Maruka's two totems, Asuku and Mirima. I love wooden sparring partners." Myo-Oh stated, as Sari laughed a bit.

"The last time you fought them, you nearly caught them on fire and Maruka had to send a Beta Shield to block your attacks." Sari said, laughing at Myo-Oh's last spar/bout.

Tanis considered that, then turned his complete attention back to navigation for a moment. When he spoke again, it was in an almost emotionless voice. "We'll arrive in about twelve hours. If you need sleep, now is the time. You might also want to make sure we have everything we need, so we don't have to arrange any stopovers for supplies."

He just hoped that they caught their quarry unawares, and not vice versa.

Sari nodded her head, then went to the storage compartment of the ship with Myo-Oh to check on supplies, then to grab a quick nap.

Ayeka opened the front door to see Ryoko with her arms crossed over her chest and her yellow eyes glaring. "Ah...look who came to grace us with her presence...Once again. So, how long did it take for you to get out of prison THIS TIME, Ryoko?" Ayeka questioned, as Ryoko growled, then teleported into the living room, where Mihoshi, Kiyone, Tench, Yosho, Maruka, and Washu were quietly visiting.

Sasami and Ryo-Ohki were outside playing near the lake. Asuku and Mirima were closely on guard, since Maruka requested it of them. Maruka's ship, Tsubushi, was cloaked and in hiding in case Kagato decided to make a surprise visit.

"Have any of you seen my daughter since the last time she visited?" Ryoko questioned, as she curled her tail up around her waist and glared at Maruka, who was taking a small sip of Green Tea, while everyone else was quiet, calm and waiting for the fireworks to start.

"No. Now, if you would just sit down and relax, then the rest of us could get back to visiting." Maruka commented, as her sea-green eyes glared at Ryoko.

"We got word that Sari will be on her way soon, Ryoko. It'll take her a few days to get here though." Mihoshi said, as she fidgeted with her blonde hair, since it was curling around her face and making her cheeks itch.

Ryoko snorted, then sat in a chair across from Maruka and glared for most of the time that she was sitting down. Tenchi drew a deep breath, glad that Ryoko and Maruka didn't get into one of their legendary fights like they did the last time Ryoko showed up unnannounced. Nearly half the house was destroyed because of all the ruckus.

Tanis continued piloting. As they came out of hyperspace, and Sari finally joined him on the bridge again, he was absently singing the theme song to the old cartoon Silverhawks. The sensors on the vessel immediately started scanning the surroundings, before lighting up with a variety of potential problems in the form of the earth's various satellites. He shook his head, and activated the cloaking device that the old pirate ship had been outfitted with, then started to plot a course planetside. He stopped suddenly, looking back over his shoulder at her. "Where exactly are we setting down?"

Sari looked at her wrist unit and then back at Tanis. "Japan. The home of Tenchi Masaki, the descendant of the Juraian throne." Sari announced, as Myo-Oh meowed happily, then scratched behind her left ear, as her golden eyes looked at the green and blue planet before them.

"Myo-Oh, please do us the favor and transfer Tenchi's house into the coordinate database so that Tanis can set this overgrown tuna can down." Sari ordered, as Myo-Oh bounded off of Sari's right shoulder, jumped up onto the control panel, then closed her eyes, as her body began to glow a silver aura around her.

In the wee hours of the morning, Maruka, Tenchi, Sasami, Yosho, and Washu were all woken up screaming and attacks being thrown between Ryoko and Ayeka near the lake. Maruka walked down the stairs ahead of the others to see Ryoko send orange electrical balls of energy straight for Ayeka, who wasn't fast enough to parry with one of her own attacks.

"So much for sleeping in. Mirima! Asuku! Kamidake! Azaka! Protect Princess Ayeka!" Maruka ordered, as she quickly transformed into her battle armor and began to run down the stairs. Mirima, Asuku, Kamidake, and Azaka all swarmed around Ayeka in a matter of milli-seconds and projected a ultra-energy barrier around Ayeka and sent the oncoming attack right back at Ryoko, which sent her flying right into the lake.
