The Galaxy Police. An organization spanning hundreds of worlds, protecting the galaxy in combination with the royal military of the worlds of Jurai. They protected the galaxy from pirates, from threats, and even from bad fashion. However, they had a code that meant that people from less advanced worlds had a strict no contact policy on them. There were people from thousands of species working in the Galaxy Police. Many of those species were humanoid. Many even looked human. Most were altered biologically to deal with the stress of the job. Using state of the art technology, high speed ships, and a variety of combat techniques, a Galaxy Police officer is trained to deal with threats of all shapes and sizes.

Among the planets on the list of Noncontact worlds was a young planet, a mere six billion years old. The natives of that world called it Earth. They had many legends of contact with aliens, ancient lost civilizations, and other things. It may very well have been possible that the legends were true. If they were, it didn't matter. The current civilization wasn't supposed to be contacted. In fact, their contact wasn't scheduled for at least another hundred thousand years. But things always have a way of going awry. Sometimes, not very often, the Galaxy Police make special cases. This is the story of one such special case.

Tanis Flynn was your average college burnout. Brilliant, but couldn't handle the pressure of all the tests and research papers. Having a name like Tanis was a bit odd to begin with. He got a lot of odd looks when he signed his name. His parents had named him after a character from the novel series Dragonlance. It had given him nothing but trouble.

One day, however, he was assisting one of his former professors in the excavation of a set of ruins when part of the ruins collapsed. He fell five stories. He passed out before hitting the ground. And when he came to, he was staring into the eyes of what looked like a person. Except it wasn't a person. Whoever it was, they were unmoving. Impaled on some sort of throne, with cables and cords running all over them. The professor and his students were looking for him. Unfortunately, something else found him first.

A demonic presence rushed him from several sides. He had been deemed something in the way, and they were to eliminate him. The tall man with silver hair that ordered them to attack couldn't seem to care less about anything, but in his eyes was madness. Tanis wasn't entirely clear on what happened next. It seemed hopeless to him. He knew he was going to die. But then he tripped on a cable, resulting in a slash that was intended to sever his head from his neck only flinging him onto the throne behind him. That was when it went strange. The throne...the things that had seemed to impale the person on them simply passed through him as if they weren't there. There was a strange sound that he couldn't place, and colored lights. And then came the pain. An instant of completely obliterating pain that should have killed him.

As he rose from the throne, however, it was clear that he wasn't dead. No, in fact, he felt stronger than he would have thought possible. The person on the throne had vanished. It hadn't been a person at all, but a technorganic weapon system. A biological android, built for combat. And now that android had merged with him, changing his body. More than that, altering his entire existence. In what seemed to last no more than seconds, but felt more like hours to him, he moved. When he stopped moving, the demons fell, their bodies disintegrating. The silverhaired man's disapproval was evident in his withering scowl. But as Tanis started to move forward, the man vanished in a flash of light. After that, Tanis passed out.

When the professor and his students found him, Tanis was unmoving, barely breathing. And they were accompanied by men and women in strange uniforms. When Tanis finally came to, he was no longer in the chamber. He was in a small tent, laying on a bed. He sat up as two men and one tall woman stepped into the tent. They all wore similar uniforms, and acted like military, which immediately made Tanis tense up. But the woman's voice was soothing as she explained what had happened.

The man who had attacked him was named Kagato. He was a notorious space pirate, and had been after an autonomous weapon system that was left over from an ancient war fought in the skies above the planet. A weapon system that had inexplicably bonded with Tanis, turning him into the biological equivalent of a battle android. Which led her to her next issue. She made him an offer. She suggested he join the Galaxy Police. She explained that normally, those from underdeveloped worlds were left to their own devices, and contact was forbidden. But in his case, between the meeting with Kagato and the weapon system that was now an integral part of his existence, an exception could be made for him.

A few days later, he was standing on the observation deck of a spaceship headed for Galaxy Police Headquarters. He stood silently, staring out at the inky blackness of space, a frown on his face. He could see his reflection in the artificial viewport he was staring through. His hair, once short and brown, had grown long and a silvery blue. His eyes, which were once brown, had become red. His body, once thin and tall, had become the long, lean musculature of a dancer or swimmer, but with more to it. His pale skin had tanned, his fingers lengthened. And he could see, almost, the multicolored lines of organic circuitry under his skin. He sighed, and shook his head, hearing the announcement that they were approaching the station.

OOC: For now, this will be one on one, to a gal playing the role of his commanding officer.

"Ma'am, S.S. Kuri will be here shortly with new recruit. Shall I go meet him at the hangar and show him around?" Detective Mikuri asked, as she appeared in her commanding officer's office, wearing a black mini skirt, yellow knee high boots and a revealing bright pink tank top (her off-time wear), with her dark maroon, shoulder length hair with yellow highlights up in a high ponytail.

The commanding officer nodded her head and smiled. "Yes, Sari. Since you're gonna be his partner anyways, you might as well go and make yourself acquainted. Just...go easy on him." Commander Suzukimi ordered.

Sari Mikuri bowed, and bounded down the halls towards the hangar, eagerly to await her newly appointed partner in question.

The ship slowly came to a halt in the docking bay, the sleek cruiser seeming almost out of place amongst the other vessels docked there. Tanis carried only a single bag, a gift from his 'recruiter', that allowed him to keep most of what he owned in as little space as possible. As the boarding ramp lowered, he stepped down it slowly, his eyes scanning everything around him.

As he did, he saw the figure running down the hall in his direction, and heared the footfalls loudly. He raised an eyebrow, watching the figure approach, and halted his advance into the station as she came to a sliding stop before him. He looked her up and down, surveying her, then looked at his watch. He pulled a sheaf of papers out of a pocket, and handed it to her. "I guess these are my orders."

Sari blinked her orange eyes and took the orders and read them carefully, then folded them in half and stuck them in the bra of her shirt, and lifted her right hand and smiled broadly. "Hiya! I'm Sari Mikuri. Well, Second Detective Sari Mikuri, if you want to get technical with names. I'm your new partner. You must be the new guy who found the android weapon system by accident. I've always wondered where it was hidden. Anyways, sorry about my rambling. Would you like me to show you around and to your quarters?" Sari asked, as she fidgeted with her fingerless gloves, as her hands crackled with purple energy.

"Oh, if you want to ask anything, feel free. I'm full of interesting facts." Sari said, as she winked playfully.

The woman before him, as exuberant as she was in her greeting, screamed slacker in the way she dressed and her mannerisms. The energy crackling over her hands made him think she was not used to sitting still. A troublemaker, he figured. Still, she was rather cute, in that way that anime girls were. At the mention of the weapon that he'd bonded with, he frowned. But then he looked off to the side, in the direction of a large video display showing the news. He watched silently, seeing a variety of stories, only half of which made sense, being told by a woman with bunny ears and a wiggly nose. He tilted his head, then shrugged, turning back to the woman who was his police partner.

"I suppose I should go to my new living space. I'll need to get situated before I start my instructional period, right?"

Sari nodded her head. "Yep. It's required by all new recruits." Sari replied, as the crackling energy fizzed out and Sari smiled nicely. "You'll have a roommate, just so you know. So, if there is anything that you don't trust in sharing with anyone, you might want to see to a rental trunk or something." Sari informed, as she turned around and casually began making her way back up the ramp towards the inner portions of the space station.

Sari stopped, since she didn't hear any footsteps behind her, and turned around to see the recruit still standing at the base of the ramp. 'I have a feeling this is going to get pretty vicious in the months to come.' Sari thought, as she concocted an electric ball of purple energy in her left hand and began to toss it up and down. "If you don't move it, I'm gonna give you a push in the right direction, mister." Sari warned.

Tanis was watching the display, his head still tilted. As the woman made her way up the ramp, he stood there, ignoring her. But the senses of the android weapon system immediately indicated the creation of an energy sphere. When that sphere flew, just after a warning to get moving, everything seemed, to passersby, to take mere seconds. To Tanis, it was hours. He looked to the right for an instant, then back to the screen. The ball of energy struck some sort of mirrorlike wall, then flew back at her at twice the speed, and with about four times the concentrated energy.

Sari's orange eyes grew wide, as she ducked as the sphere flew back by her, then back towards Tanis. 'Stupid sonofa...' before Sari could get the thought out of her mind, the purple electric ball hit the reflection barrier around Tanis flew so fast and hard that Sari didn't have any time to duck...

Sari flew about three hundred feet and smacked up against the main entrance doors of the station, then slid down until she kneeled on the floor, gasping for breath. "What...in the....nine moons of Jurai...was that?? My Electro Sphere never met anything like that before." Sari remarked, as she stood weakly, cracking her knuckles, then grabbed her head, as it began to throb.

Tanis seemed to be standing still one moment, then was gone the next, only to speak from right next to her, holding out a hand to help her up. "One of the weapon systems on this thing is an advanced phase shield system. It will reflect even a particle beam cannon." As he helped her to her feet, he looked away, and frowned. "We're being followed by a young woman with green hair and glasses. Do you know her?"

Sari shook her head and smacked her pony tail in Tanis' face, then turned around to see the woman in question. "Oh, yeah. That's Sana Himiru. She's the Galaxy Police's top psychologist." Sari remarked, as Sana walked up to them and bowed respectfully.

"Sari, I wasn't aware you were meeting the shuttle. I appreciate it very much. But, you do realize that you're breaking protocol by being here." Sana commented, as Sari sweatdropped and bowed back in return.

"Yes, ma'am. I know. But Commander requested it of me. And I figured that...um....Sorry, I forgot your name...Tarren?? Turis?? Whatever...it'll come to me.....Anyways, I figured that it would be a nice change for somebody to show the new recruits around instead of letting them wander around like lost souls. And besides, Dr. Himiru, isn't it quite unusual for you to be in the hangar? I thought you had patients to tend to this afternoon?" Sari questioned, as Sana blushed.

Tanis rolled his eyes at the attempt at forgetting his name. Then he regarded the young woman who was introduced to him as the top psychologist intently. He let the two of them continue on for a few moments, then walked over to a computerized information terminal. He put his hand on the keyboard for a few seconds, then started walking down the hall, shouldering his backpack again.

He'd already been given a map, which had been easy to memorize. But now he had directions and a location to be. He decided to let the two of them argue amongst themselves, looking at his watch again. The watch was more out of habit than anything else, as the android he bonded with kept perfect time for him.

"I'm surprised that Commander even allowed you access, considering what happened LAST time you were down here." Sana remarked, as Sari gave her an ice glare. "Hey. I was drunk. The pilot and I were dating at the time. And the maneuver would have worked if someone didn't walk in on us." Sari countered, as her hands began to gain a purplish electric charge again.

"I was only doing my duty as your friend, Sari. Besides...as much as a tour guide you think you are, your charge decided to leave you in his dust." Sana said, smugly, as Sari's eyes grew wide, then began to panic as she turned a complete 360 degrees to find that Taris had indeed decided to depart the debate.

"Oh, Konoha!" Sari cursed, as her hands dissipated quickly and then she took off to go in search of Taris, just to make sure he knew where he was going.

Sana giggled at the sight of Sari panicking, then decided to make her way back to the shuttle for some "Sana Time" with the pilot, who, without a doubt, was way more experienced than anyone gave him credit for.

Sari entered the Pilot Lounge to access the cameras, just so she could look for which direction Taris had gone in. Granted, hacking into the main camera system was a bit....illegal and against the Galaxy Police protocol, but to Sari, if you have the talent for electronics, why not put it to use once in a while?

"Ah! There you are! Wow. Looks like he made it to the Cafeteria. Well, that'll make it easy for him to find his way to his quarters then." Sari commented, as she quickly teleported herself to stand beside Taris. "Lunch sounds amazing. Hungry?" Sari asked, as she noticed him jump a tiny bit at her suddenly appearing beside him.

The flinching was involuntary. It proved he still had some of his human instincts, which he probably should have taken some comfort in, he thought. Still, Tanis stood in line in the cafeteria to get something to eat before going to his room. He didn't really want to spend time standing next to the overactive young woman who he was apparently going to be partnered with. She seeemed a bit unstable to him, and that meant dangerous.

Still, he couldn't exactly shoo her away. She was technically his superior officer. Not that he really thought that changed anything. He pondered what to get at the cafeteria as they travelled through the line. He said nothing, as he didn't see anything needing to be said.

"Sari! Sari! Over here!" A guy yelled, as he jumped up and down at his table, waving his hands excitedly, trying to get Sari's attention. But, as luck would have it, she wasn't really paying much attention to him. So, in true stealth-style, he snuck around the large crowd of people waiting to grab their grub, ended up right behind Sari and grabbed her ass.

Sari squeaked so loud and jumped high into the air, and glared at the male laughing so hard that tears were coming out of his eyes. "You know, Garu, that's not a very nice thing to do to people. Especially one who's mother is a Space Demon." Sari remarked, as an electro-disc began to form in her right hand, as she floated in the air.

"Ah...but...Sari...It was...so...funny! I think...that's the heighest I made you jump!" Garu said, as he began rolling on the floor, laughing uncontrollably. Now, by this time, the crowd had minimized in size, while Tanis, Sari, and Garu were still in close proximity of each other.

Tanis sighed as the little scene played out. As Sari started to get charged up, he turned slowly to face the offender, and his red, almost mechanical looking eyes focused on him. He studied the figure, rather energetic and obviously mad as a hatter to try to take on the young woman. To defuse the situation, he held out his hand, and in it formed a large, triple-barrelled gatling gun, aimed directly at the young male officer. He made absolutely certain anyone looking at his eyes could see the targetting reticule appear on them, and then spoke calmly and quietly.

"It is in your best interests to run and hide. I calculate only a four percent chance I can hit you without harming you at this range."

Garu stopped laughing and stood up to get a better look at the new guy who had came in the Cafeteria with Sari. "And who might you be to tell me, Garu Shinigata, what to do?" Garu questioned, as he then noticed the giant gattling gun in Tanis' right hand.

"Garu, this is the new recruitment that Command sent for. He's the one that found that android battling system that we've been looking for the last thousand years." Sari answered, as her Electro-Disc seemed to multiply into three discs at once, as Sari floated to the ground and glared at Garu from behind Tanis.

Tanis saw the indignation in the man's eyes, and his eyes changed focus. They shifted to a tall, wide, wizened old female in a uniform who looked like she could probably quite easily overpower even the enhanced strength of the Zero system. He tilted his head, regarding it as it made its way through the crowd to stand behind Garu. Then he opened his hand. The gatling fell a few inches, only to disappear into particles of light and vanish before it hit the ground. He turned away, reasserting his attention on the food as he stood in the line.

Behind Garu, the figure of one of the highest commanders of the Galaxy Patrol tapped her foot, her thickly muscled arms crossed across her massive chest. Her blonde curls were a stark contrast to her dark, deeply tanned skin. And she could immediately tell that the new recruit was smarter than he looked. He had turned away, and gone back to ordering his food. That brought a shortlived smile to her face, before she turned her attention back to the troublemaker who hadn't noticed yet.

The electro-discs quickly disappeared from sight. Sari knew that pissing off one of the highly intelligent Commanding officers wasn't a wise decision. Granted, her mother did that enough just by stopping in unannounced, but that was a different thought for a different time.

Sari took Tanis' quick action and re-joined the line to grab some chow, while Garu looked at them slightly confused, then turned to see the very annoyed Commanding Official, tapping her foot so fast that it was about to create smoke.

The woman glared down at the officer, and barked a single order. "My office. NOW." Then she whirled and stalked out of the cafeteria. Tanis, on the other hand, grabbed some things that he hoped were the same things they looked like on earth, and put them on his tray. He made a mental note to speak to someone in charge of the cafeteria to find out what exactly was what. It wasn't until his tracking system no longer registered either the commanding officer or the young man who had tried to pick the wrong fight that he spoke.

"Does that sort of thing happen often?"

Sari looked at him from down at her decision-making on what she was going to eat for lunch and nodded. "Not every day. But, at least a few times a week. This is the first time that anyone from High Command actually came down to disperse it though. The last time this happened, I ended up rearranging his face AND most of the cafeteria. I guess I do have my mother's temper." Sari replied, as she grabbed a couple black scoops of a meaty-gravy type dish, then some different kinds of fruit, then jumped up into the air and floated patiently, as she looked over her tray with delight, then quickly landed in front of Tanis to pay for both meals.

Sari then walked over to a minimally crowded table near a window, so she could look out and view the stars while eating her lunch.

Tanis was surprised to find her paying for his meal. But he said nothing about it as he carried his tray and followed her more slowly. He took a seat across from her, and started eating slowly, pondering what she said about what she had to put up with. He was mildly grateful that he wouldn't have to put up with such things. Then again, he hadn't met anyone but her, the psychologist, and her attempted groper.

He ate in silence, and after a few moments and a face that would frighten small children, he decided to try blocking off his taste buds and sense of smell. After that, he managed to eat fairly quickly.

Sari ate even more slowly now that Tanis sat across from her, so she basically kept most of her attention on the stars outside the window. Suddenly, a big thump broke her out of her thoughts, as a blonde haired cat-woman sat beside Sari and straightened out her uniform, as she bowed her head towards Tanis, then refocused her attention on Sari.

"So?" The strange woman asked, as Sari turned and looked at the woman. "Tanis, I want you to meet Mayuka. Mayuka, this is who you've been waiting to meet." Sari introduced, as Sari returned her focus back to the window, while eating and playing with her food.

Tanis looked up from his meal, seeing the blonde feline humanoid, and tilted his head, studying her for a moment. He nodded slightly when he was introduced, and took in her appearance, her voice, and everything else. Then he frowned, data passing before his eyes. "That's not what you really look like."

It was a statement, an observation, not a question. His eyes had compared her physical form to something that showed up, seeming to be under it, and his ears had compared the frequencies of her voice without his conscious effort. Both were clearly fake. And he wondered why such a thing would be allowed.

Sari looked up from her plate to Tanis in confusion. "What do you mean that's fake? Mayuka has always sounded and looked like this. So, why would you dare question it?" Sari asked, as Mayuka giggled lightly and her ears twitched in annoyance.

"It's all right, Sari, dear. He is entitled to his opinion. As are we. I must be going now, since it's time for sparring practice. I'll catch up with you two later." Mayuka replied, as she stood up from her seat and casually walked out of the cafeteria.

"You know...that observation was a bit rude." Sari remarked, as she stood up, cleared her plate, and decided to head to her quarters, for the fear of anyone else showing up to make her day that much more fun.

Tanis raised an eyebrow,w atching the two leave. He frowned again, then turned his attention back to his food. He finished it quickly, and then stood up, taking his tray and disposing of it. Then he headed for the dorms to find his quarters. He carried his back as he walked quietly through the halls. When he found his room, he was surprised to see that it was significantly larger than he was expecting. More than that, it was a suite setup, which would mean roommates. He regarded the door that already had his name on a plate on the door, and looked around the main room of the suite. It was fairly well furnished too, he noted.

When he finally opened the door to his room, he looked it over quietly, and set his bag down on the bed. He stood there silently, before opening the bag and starting to remove things and place them in specific spots. It took him about an hour to get the room properly organized, before he heard noises from the main room. He stepped out the door to his room, and regarded his new roommates. Several looked human, aside from strangely colored hair or eyes. Not all were male, either, which meant coed dorms. He frowned at that thought, then shrugged, looking at his watch.
