The Galaxy Police. An organization spanning hundreds of worlds, protecting the galaxy in combination with the royal military of the worlds of Jurai. They protected the galaxy from pirates, from threats, and even from bad fashion. However, they had a code that meant that people from less advanced worlds had a strict no contact policy on them. There were people from thousands of species working in the Galaxy Police. Many of those species were humanoid. Many even looked human. Most were altered biologically to deal with the stress of the job. Using state of the art technology, high speed ships, and a variety of combat techniques, a Galaxy Police officer is trained to deal with threats of all shapes and sizes.
Among the planets on the list of Noncontact worlds was a young planet, a mere six billion years old. The natives of that world called it Earth. They had many legends of contact with aliens, ancient lost civilizations, and other things. It may very well have been possible that the legends were true. If they were, it didn't matter. The current civilization wasn't supposed to be contacted. In fact, their contact wasn't scheduled for at least another hundred thousand years. But things always have a way of going awry. Sometimes, not very often, the Galaxy Police make special cases. This is the story of one such special case.
Tanis Flynn was your average college burnout. Brilliant, but couldn't handle the pressure of all the tests and research papers. Having a name like Tanis was a bit odd to begin with. He got a lot of odd looks when he signed his name. His parents had named him after a character from the novel series Dragonlance. It had given him nothing but trouble.
One day, however, he was assisting one of his former professors in the excavation of a set of ruins when part of the ruins collapsed. He fell five stories. He passed out before hitting the ground. And when he came to, he was staring into the eyes of what looked like a person. Except it wasn't a person. Whoever it was, they were unmoving. Impaled on some sort of throne, with cables and cords running all over them. The professor and his students were looking for him. Unfortunately, something else found him first.
A demonic presence rushed him from several sides. He had been deemed something in the way, and they were to eliminate him. The tall man with silver hair that ordered them to attack couldn't seem to care less about anything, but in his eyes was madness. Tanis wasn't entirely clear on what happened next. It seemed hopeless to him. He knew he was going to die. But then he tripped on a cable, resulting in a slash that was intended to sever his head from his neck only flinging him onto the throne behind him. That was when it went strange. The throne...the things that had seemed to impale the person on them simply passed through him as if they weren't there. There was a strange sound that he couldn't place, and colored lights. And then came the pain. An instant of completely obliterating pain that should have killed him.
As he rose from the throne, however, it was clear that he wasn't dead. No, in fact, he felt stronger than he would have thought possible. The person on the throne had vanished. It hadn't been a person at all, but a technorganic weapon system. A biological android, built for combat. And now that android had merged with him, changing his body. More than that, altering his entire existence. In what seemed to last no more than seconds, but felt more like hours to him, he moved. When he stopped moving, the demons fell, their bodies disintegrating. The silverhaired man's disapproval was evident in his withering scowl. But as Tanis started to move forward, the man vanished in a flash of light. After that, Tanis passed out.
When the professor and his students found him, Tanis was unmoving, barely breathing. And they were accompanied by men and women in strange uniforms. When Tanis finally came to, he was no longer in the chamber. He was in a small tent, laying on a bed. He sat up as two men and one tall woman stepped into the tent. They all wore similar uniforms, and acted like military, which immediately made Tanis tense up. But the woman's voice was soothing as she explained what had happened.
The man who had attacked him was named Kagato. He was a notorious space pirate, and had been after an autonomous weapon system that was left over from an ancient war fought in the skies above the planet. A weapon system that had inexplicably bonded with Tanis, turning him into the biological equivalent of a battle android. Which led her to her next issue. She made him an offer. She suggested he join the Galaxy Police. She explained that normally, those from underdeveloped worlds were left to their own devices, and contact was forbidden. But in his case, between the meeting with Kagato and the weapon system that was now an integral part of his existence, an exception could be made for him.
A few days later, he was standing on the observation deck of a spaceship headed for Galaxy Police Headquarters. He stood silently, staring out at the inky blackness of space, a frown on his face. He could see his reflection in the artificial viewport he was staring through. His hair, once short and brown, had grown long and a silvery blue. His eyes, which were once brown, had become red. His body, once thin and tall, had become the long, lean musculature of a dancer or swimmer, but with more to it. His pale skin had tanned, his fingers lengthened. And he could see, almost, the multicolored lines of organic circuitry under his skin. He sighed, and shook his head, hearing the announcement that they were approaching the station.
OOC: For now, this will be one on one, to a gal playing the role of his commanding officer.
