Take a good look everyone - (especially our resident RWCJ) - at the G.O.P. clown car circus.

Look at the qualities they bring to government:

Chaos, incompetence, obstruction and gridlock.

Take a really good, long look, and you will see exactly what decent intelligent people saw all along.

Not an “I told you so” moment, but rather a “wake the fuck up” moment.

But, like what we knew about Donald Trump even before he ran, we've known this about the Republicans back to the Tea Party days.

Sad thing, but there are a lot of people--mostly people who really need the federal government support--who prefer the entertainment value of this crap to services that enhance their lives.

They’re conditioned / addicted to “the new G.O.P.s” WWE / soap opera style presentation.

SAD!!!

It goes back farther than that. I'd go back at least to when Newt Gingrich was minority whip in the early '90s.

The seeds of the trees that are producing this current crop of rotten “republican” apples were planted long before Newt. But yeah, Newt was definitely a notable contributor to the “fertilization” of “the soil”.

I would say post Eisenhower(Joe McCarthy), the “republican party” quickly devolved into paranoia and blatant racist, xenophobic, ideological sociopathy.

Truly pathetic and……

SAD!!!

There were good, reasonable conservatives in this country as recently as the mid-1990s, and there are still a few of them out there. We just need more of them to speak up. Sadly, the extremists have taken over the Republican party and pushed out the conservatives and moderates. For the most part. For example, Idaho's representative Mike Simpson is still a good conservative with reasonably fair and rational views, even though I don't agree with everything he does.

Matt Gaetz pounded his fist and bent the knee for Jim Jordan, then for trump today…who’s next?

And the “look at me being sincere about caring about our citizens” speeches are delicious to watch.

Exactly.

The American people (most importantly, moderate “independent voters”) have an unobstructed view of “the new republican party.”

It ain’t pretty.

How long before Mike Pence is nominated for Speaker?
Won't ever happen. Democrats had a chance to change this narrative but chose instead to laugh at the GOPs failures. Now...the House will be run by 20 denialists. Now they start offering Committee Chairs to 4 votes

Nah Dribbs, the Democrats played / are playing this just right.

First the Democrats gave “the new republican party” the stage all to themselves, where “the new republican party” promptly exposed itself, and, by extension, “the old republican party” as the party of chaos, incompetence, obstruction, and gridlock.

Next, the Democrats will allow “the new republican party” to further damage their “brand” as “the new republican party” conducts their farcical “investigations” with some of the most repulsive members leading the clown car parade.

America is getting / going to get a real good unobstructed view of “the new republican party” over the next several weeks, months, and years.

Enjoy the show.

And in 2 years...the GOP will control the Presidency and the Senate and more women's rights will disappear. I strongly disagree with your view. I do not think you comprehend how strong the Republicans are in the majority of the US. Let's come back to this in 2 years shall we? If I am wrong...I will openly admit it. I expect the same from all the apologists

And it is only 2 Chairs that have to be offered. The reason they are waiting until 10PM is for 2 members to return

Did you predict a orange man second term in 2020 and a red wave in 2022???

Let it play out and enjoy “the new republican party” clown car parade.

Why should the Dems have to save the GQPers from themselves? The Republicans won the majority (albeit only due to gerrymandering), they're the ones who need to get their act together. The Dems, by contrast, have been united in their support for their own leader.

Not if our side votes.

If it were that simple, they wouldn't have lost the popular vote in all but one of the past eight elections. Besides, they're tapped out in the areas where they do dominate - sooner or later, the pendulum will have to swing back. The more they make fools of themselves in DC, the sooner that will happen.

Same, though I don't consider myself an apologist.

I’m keeping an eye on the turnover(attrition) among republicans and the trending of young voters towards the Democratic Party.

Combine that ^ with the current republican clown show and their continued radical positions on women's reproductive rights / LGBTQ+ rights, and I see no need for Democrats to change anything about their policy platform or their reasonable opposition strategy towards the obviously incompetent and unhinged “republicans”.

The Speaker vote could be seen as delaying work that needs to be done. But we don't need either party. There are faultlines and tensions running through both. If they are both ripped apart, then sequentially may be less of a mess than simultaneously.

No I did not. But I did predict the Republicans controling the House. Do the Democrats control the House?

You are missing the point. Democrats had no reason to lose the House. None. Fuck...an insurrection happened. The Supreme Court took women's rights away that WE MAY NEVER REGAIN. And yet we lost. You are glad we didn't lose as bad as we could have? And that is ok with you. Know why we lose? Know why we will keep losing? Because Americans are stupid as a whole and they believe the Republican message more than they do our message. We have no message beyond Republicans are bad.

Your response proves to me you don't understand the political reality the Democrat's are facing. Tell me bright one. If we win the popular vote...and we have the fact that they attempted an insurrection and they took away women's rights...why did we lose the House?
