Union and their senority let them pick their dates. Of course in the mill, departments had "utility" people who knew all the jobs, to fill in. That was me.
About the 5th highest paid hourly in the joint.

I checked outside a short time ago. UPS and even the USPS will leave boxes outside the front door. I need to remember to fucking look this time of year. The other day, Monday, the maintenance folk came over to install a setback themoset and they handing me a box that was outside.

I think UPS left it Saturday evening while I was at church, I come in through the garage. I didn't check Sat night or Sunday.

Anyway, before I started jabbering, I did notice the temp and how warm and all it felt.

Lots of government contracts that require prevailing wage and such. That work gets done here, but they were already cheating on that while I was still there.

Heh, my average work week was 55 to 60 hours. And you know how much those big hospital/office doors weigh. We earned our fucking money.
