From each according to means, to each according to their needs

There is no other way. Deal with it.

Of course there is. Euthanize the needy humanely of course.

Oh, and who gets to define the individuals needs, and who is the arbiter of this re-distribution?

Ishmael

Well, he did say "there is no other way."

Time for him to fork it over. Common decency demands it.

If he's judged to have more than he needs, and objects to being stripped of the 'profit', well, just put a bullet in the brain stem and take it all...........it's the communist way.

Ishmael

He obviously lacks a brain stem.

Like in the womb? Is that how you did it?

These are the rules laid out to achieve the utopian dream.

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public
purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank
with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the
State.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the
bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally
in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for
agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of
all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the
populace over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s
factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial
production, &c,&c.

Good news you Communists, you're almost halfway there.

Ishmael

There is another way, the American way.

Dude, it's not like you don't have a wealth redistribution leviathan o'er there. It's just that it's a disorganized, chaotic, and ineffectual one. Not that a Soviet style ditto is any better - hamfisted, oppressive, and in the end even more ineffectual.

I need to transfer my old files...

;) ;)

I had a saying for this, something like, when you think it is okay to loot those above your station in life, then everyone below your station will believe that it is proper when they loot you.

Additionally, in such a system, those at the top end up with everything, while those at the bottom end up with whatever is left over. The historical and current examples of this are in abundance, and yet with regularity the brilliance of those who care the most about their fellow human beings convinces them that they can make it work; the old see the evolution of technology and assume then that its implication is that society has evolved and human nature abrogated.

Do these ideas germinate in our fertile countryside and in the rural mind?

Or do they originated in a more urban setting where everyone is super-specialized and dependent upon others for everything outside of their specialization.

Do they originate in flyover country where independence and the ability to perform a variety of tasks are all but mandatory; where Church is important, community matters and there is a vast cohesive community that tends to take care of its own from its traditional obligation to charity?

Or do they originate in a more urban environment where religion is anathema, where personal interactions are more limited to the workplace and where participation in outside "charity" tends to focus not on the poor and needy, but social justice and protest? After all, isn't it the job of government to take care of the poor and needy? Isn't that why we pay taxes?

The utopian schemes of leveling [redistribution of wealth] and a community of goods [central ownership of the means of production and distribution], are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the Crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government, unconstitutional.

Samuel Adams

when those 1%ers who bellered about how the 1%ers need to pay more, open their wallets fire their tax attorneys, and stop using the tax loop holes to their benefit, then I will take seriously their bellering. Until then, it's just talk.

1. Uh huh

2. Sounds good.

3. Now yer talkin'.

4. Oh, whoa. Well maybe if it's for the greater good.

5. Yep.

6. Take that climate change.

7. On a roll.

8. Whoa, whoa. Uh-uh. That is a no go.

Ishmael

Dude, it's not like you don't have a wealth redistribution leviathan o'er there.

I didn't say there was. I said Marxism isn't the only way to do things apparently in not such a cogent manner. I apologize if I lead you to believe I was saying something else, but I wasn't.

If I were talking about wealth redistribution I would be saying that it's a wealth concentration problem not a redistribution one.

Our government doesn't support equal opportunity or allow people to do things for themselves anymore. You need a permit to wipe your own ass much less make a living for yourself and you can only get one if you're rich and well connected!

Otherwise fuck you and get back to your 9/hr job you fuckin' slave, it's for your own good....because that's progress!!

It's just that it's a disorganized, chaotic, and ineffectual one.

No, it's very well organized and extremely effective.

It's just made to service the elites, not the country.

If an American goes and makes money for themselves without the consent of the competition and they'll have an alphabet agency SWAT team blowing their doors off by the end of the day.

We shoot lawn boys in CA for fucking with big contractors bidnizz and urban farmers cutting into WholePaycheck Foods profit margins.

California treats entrepreneurs like fucking terrorist.
