I was starting to get worry about him, so I called. Art passed away last Wednesday. Just wanted to let you know. This is not a story either, I loved him. He was a very good friend of mine.

yes he WILL be missed He was loved and respected by alot of ppl..he had no family left tho ..wife passed away 20 yrs ago and he was my last online love...He is in a much better happier place now full of love ,happiness , and joy

I made some observations and comments about Artful a while back that I know bothered him. Artful didn't respond or try to flame me. After thinking about them, I felt that I owed him an explanation and an apology, which he graciously accepted. We actually corresponded quite a bit via pm for a good part of my time here at Lit.

From a completely selfish perspective, I am glad I was able to fix things between us, as we often did agree on a variety of things. It is quite rare to be able to fix things between people.

However, the reason I shared this is more to let people know about the kind of person Artful was. He always took the high road, he never retaliated against perceived insults and he always made the time for his friends as well as those whom he didn't even know.

ty and all who have posted.. Raw ?/ Art was diagnosed with possible cancer 3 mo's ago and he also had a bad heart as well .
I talked to some ppl last night who said he still loved me even before he passed away and that meant alot to me..they lived with him.. He was a wonderful , caring man and a good Master as well, he will now get to be with Betty , his late wife of 20 yrs so I can picture him being at peace and know he would want us all to continue loving and NOT HATING one another .. ty

A great loss

Art befriended me on the Midwest thread when I first came to Lit in July. And, although there were times when we strongly disagreed on some subjects we always kept our respect for each other and our friendship in tact.
My fondest memory of Art is one in which he came to me for advise, even though he hardly knew me. That started our 'real' friendship and although we didn't talk as much after that I still counted him among my friends.

So long, my friend. You will be missed.

I had a feeling that something was wrong before I PM'ed you my gosh I hadn't realised until I saw this thread.

I only met Artful briefly, certainly not long enough to consider myself as one of his friends but I would like to say for the record. Artful was always the gentleman when it came to articulating himself in words. He never lost his temper and always listened to what I had to say. Whilst his lifestyle choices may not have matched those of my own he never imposed his views. I can recall several long PM's which we exchanged last year and his words were always kind, supportive and intelligent.

For those that loved him as a friend and those who knew him better, his loss to you is beyond words. Although he is not with you in person his spirit lives on around you and here at Lit where his words and conversations, shared with the people that he loved most, are recorded for all time as a memorial for those that knew him.

I didn't know Artful but I did read some of his posts. Angel, sweetheart, my heart cries for you. I know that a while ago you were concerned about him then. I know you are hurting. Please remember I am here for you. Dream...I have read your posts and i know that you loved him very much. My heart aches and cries for you as well and all of his friends. But like you said, he is in a better place where he isn't sick or hurting anymore. Just keep him in your hearts and remember all the good things about him.
