It's obvious that the word 'freedom' has a range of meanings and applications, but what does 'freedom' mean to you personally, be it politically, economically, sexually or existentially?

"Freedom is always the freedom of the different thinking"

(...and I fucking don't care, dear bebeslut, if this is English enough for your understanding...)

PoppingTom: "Freedom is always the freedom of the different thinking"

'The freedom to think differently', perhaps? Is that what you mean?

Well, it's a quote of Clara Zetkin. But she meant "the freedom of those who think different"

But to me it's the same....

The freedom to be different, to not conform to the norms of society nor your peers, and to avoid censure for being different.

We have a long tradition of eccentrics in England. As long as they don't frighten the horses, they are generally tolerated.

I know this from England, and I wish sometimes, we would have such tolerance.

We have eccentrics, too, but the pressure to confirm to the rest of the society is sometimes inevitable.
