Freedom of speech

Like the central character in my Pathfinder story, I prefer to stay out of politics unless absolutely necessary.
 
I've always wondered, do you prick your thumbs to summon something evil, or do you feel a prickling in your thumbs when something evil is coming?
Generally it's more likely to be a mild to moderate dampness, generally correlating on how brutally Kate Winslet is using me...

I think the Weird Sisters were pricking their thumbs as part of a magic ritual to either foretell the future or to summon eldritch power, not sure which. Probably the former.
