I experienced a similar thing -sortof- after I migrated to a CommonWealth country. Former brittish colonies are much more traditionalist and brittish than the brits., so they're very careful about and sanction (informally) any form of non PC or rude talk.

It's great in a way, because everybody is considerate and you don't have random people being rude and insulting you in your face, like in other countries,
But it makes it harder to detect or deal with their own bigots and h8ers, who adapt and become much more cunning and manipulative (ie they often use the PCnness against their targets).

As for Youtube, they are perfectly free to delete any videos they want since they aren't run by the government.
Some videos they are required to remove due to the DMCA.
There are probably others they are required by law to remove, like national security related videos.
