must be a Brit thing to know this...Beano never made it into Oz.

Three Billy Goats Gruff:kiss:

Yah it's a Brit thing, LOL.

The three little pigs, LOL.

My porker comes home from cub camp this afternoon - hopefully exhausted after tying Akela up in knots.

BDSM in the Girl Guides?? hmmmmmmmmm

She is in the Cub Scouts, not the Girl Guides.

Both Girl Guides and Scouts practice tying knots. They should be in the Ranger Guides or Venture Scouts and over 18 before they start knots with each other.

But a Girl Guide, who must be female in the UK, or a Scout who can be male or female, have had plenty of practice in knot-tying before they became 18. They start at 18 with a significant advantage in BDSM.

LOL, one of our friends here recently posted on how grateful she was to the girl guides for their contribution to her knot tying expertise.

This is the friendship knot. I have to learn to tie this in Piglet's bandanna. As well as sewing on several more badges. Sigh. (She did sew one badge on herself.)

...

In 1957, the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scouts, the Scouts and Guides where I was then living had a joint display in the local park.

In those days both Scouts and Guides continued to older ages than they do now. Senior Scouts were 16-18; Rover Scouts 18-21 and Guide age limits were similar.

Apart from some displays that wouldn't be acceptable now such as demonstrating how to trap, kill, skin and cook a wild rabbit, the older Guides in the privacy of their tent demonstrated knots on a few Rover Scouts. At least that is what they said they were doing. One unpopular Rover Scout was exhibited tied to a flagpole.

What happened to the popular Rover Scouts? I don't know. But they didn't emerge from that tent for several hours...

LOL, all good early training for upcoming Stag nights!

 Ogg, thank you for posting lovely women players in Dampy's new thread!

Stags nights? Is this what you had in mind, Honey?

Keep your stags. If you've never had the pleasure of sitting around a campfire and listening to these guys bugle I truly suggest you try it. Most awesome sound in the world. I have heard two bull clash not fifty yards away fro wher I was sitting waiting for first light on opening day. An experience I'll never forget.

Wow, how exciting! Stags and elk. Makes me think of John Buchan novels, especially John McNab with its accounts of fishing and hunting in the highlands, and its intriguing portrayal of class politics in full swing.

We had poached venison at my sister's wedding - I don't mean it was cooked by poaching ;).

And perhaps poached salmon - in both senses?

'Lo Sugar! :)

Mmm, you are making me think of my Kitchenaid cakemixer cook book! and the recipe for salmon poached in champagne, LOL. (Never mind how you poach a salmon in a cakemixer ....)

They also have a recipe for chocolate mousse ... with lapsang souchong and single malt whisky! :nana: That book was obviously personally authored for me. :)

How on earth do you poach a meat dish ?
Like; as in, boil it ?

:D:D:D

OMG! where do you find these things? That's the best parody of Michael Jackson style music I've ever seen!

You've never seen Wierd Al Yankovich before? Try this one.

Spend my nights with a roll of bubblewrap, hope no one sees me gettin freaky...
No one might see it but we damn well hear it. Now when I hear popping plastic air blisters I am gonna think of sex. Damn list of non sexual things is dwindling. :D
