Shall we pop over to Trafalgar Square and do some people watching next?

.

The best reason to pop over to Trafalgar Square is to pop around the corner to The National Portrait Gallery. One of my favourite galleries in all the world. :)

Given the latest "terrorist" incident, I think going to London is not a viable option at present.
(See Here )

I don't live anywhere near it!

All the more reason to go there. Support freedom.

I moved to London in 1982. I hadn't even finished unpacking before the IRA set off a car bomb in Horse Guards Parade. The following week I was at a conference in Paris when someone blew up one of the Metro Stations. And the week after that, I was in Rome when another group of terrorists set off a bomb on the steps of The British School. I was inside the British School having supper with the Director at the time.

The week after that was a bit quieter.

They were exciting times.
Not that I was inv0olved, you understand, but it hardly seemed a day went by without some rotten, misbegotten oik deciding to detonate something highly inconvenient for someone.

Oh goody! A new vocabulary word! Or even better yet, a new way to refer to our so-called leader: President Oik :D

Obviously, I'm not eligible to vote in the great US of A. But how did you guys vote for someone who spoke a different language from the rest of you? The notion bogilates me muchly. :)

The mind doth surely boggle.

Trust me, guys, the majority of THIS country is trying to figure out the definitive answer to that question also. Personally, I've decided it happened for the same reason millions of people believe whatever a used car salesman tells them each year too.

I always thought that there's a connection between a salesman and a politician.

Ah, an old favorite book by Heinlein might prove relevant, Job: A Comedy of Justice.

Though I will say that the last time I picked up a Heinlein book, the style wasn't as good as I remembered it from my college days.

I used to enjoy his books when I was younger (my 'college years' were spent doing military service).
I trust you & yours are well ?

I don't want to say it's been a l-o-n-g time since I was in college, but it was back when you could still get a new car with a factory 8track built into the dash.
