I think I have to get shot of my PC running XP pro, and get Win 7.
One snag is that I use Outlook Express for my E-mail. I'm told that this does not work under Win 7.
I do not like "editing a wall" like Gmail, I want the messages sent into my machine so I can take my time doing the necessary for replies.
So what do I need, please ? All the adverts I see do not explain it very well.

I was running Win7 Pro - but I recently updated to Win10. That was a bit of a drama - but I'm getting used to it. Slowly. The 'secret' to 10 seems to be to disable everything that you possibly can.![]()

Microsoft...always willing to fix things that aren't broken, break things that work fine, add new useless crap to make your less-than-brand-new computer run slower...and call it "improvements."

I had a
Win 7 install on one of my other PCs. Naturally, without being told, it converted to Win 10. I just had to pop in every now and again to let it run the "upgrades" provided by the score;' it took night on a week.
But I would dearly love to know how to switch off all that unessential crap.
The concept of "getting it right first time" seems to have escaped them completely.
Which Redmond moron imagines that all PCs are operated in a business environment and thus has a "system administrator" - as opposed to teaching the owner-operator how to do it themselves.
Anybody for the IT Crowd? I adore Moss.
