1968? I remember it being earlier than that. Perhaps I was ahead of my time - as opposed to some of my friends who were heads of their time.![]()

Sunny Goodge Street
(I was there a few months ago...I think it may not have changed much, particularly as I dined in a Hawaiian themed burger shack on the street)
Ah, a time of civil unrest (particularly in Paris).
I was in the Air Force in Foreign Parts, and we were taking it real serious
(Double the guard, and so on) . It was not an especially happy time.
I'd never heard of it!
Goodge Street is just around the corner from Goodge Street Station on Tottenham Court Road below Euston Road. The "Sunny" is a descriptor, not part of the name.

the Canberras were next door.
It was a while before we in the UK heard of "Duck & Cover".
It made us laugh in good style (well we reckoned if we got 4 minutes warning of impending doom, we'd consider ourselves lucky).

I think we all finally decided that there must be some kind of special protection from the radioactive fallout due to all the gum stuck to the bottom of our desks.

'Gravity's Rainbow'
I didn't know there was a connection between Gravity and a Rainbow.
Something like R cubed, perhaps ?
"Gravity's Rainbow" by Thomas Pynchon, 1973
Never heard of it. Sorry.
I can do E=MC^2 on a good day.
I seem to recall that gravity's rainbow was a reference to the parabolic trajectory of a V-2 rocket after the motor cut out, HP. It has been a while since I read it.![]()

Didn't one of the "Moon men" say something similar ?
