What's that, Lassie? Loquere has fallen in the well?

.

In the TV show, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo used a similar routine. Skippy, who used noises made by his mouth to explain what he saw (lawbreakers mostly), could be understood by the National park rangers.

Good morning, y'all.

And a 'Good Morning' to you.

I do not know the name of the idiot who designed Oxford Rail station, but he/she obviously had no clue about the unfortunate logic of putting a collection of occasional tables right next to a sliding door. Ye gods, that draft was cool!

Ah yes, memories of 2002.

Thanks to an "Oops!" in planning, making the trip from Odense to Amsterdam left me trapped in the Hamburg Eurail station for about half the night. The only semi-reasonably comfortable seating was located in a similar position next to the main doors. Between the chill of the late November air blasting in and the screaming kids coming through the doors from the bars, sleep was not a viable option.

Finally fell asleep on the train the next morning. I'm lucky I didn't end up in Madrid.

Been there, done that, too!
:)

Yes, but did you buy the tee shirt or end up in the rock video? ;)

I was once on a slow train with a 'standing ticket' because no seats were available, from Guangzhou to Shanghai (about 20 hours). It's good to be a foreigner sometimes. Several young guys (students they were) got to talking with me (practicing their English) which led to us playing musical chairs with their seats; we'd each take it in turns to sit down for an hour or so. It was still a tiring journey, but made more bearable.

And no, no T-shirt.

I got lucky when I did Eurail the last time. Travelling across nine countries from Hungry to the Netherlands during the off-season (late November) often left us with private cabins and more than a few times entire cars to ourselves.

The night run from Budapest to Vienna had maybe nine people on the entire train.
