Is that where we get Devonshire Tea? What makes it special?

One of the things that makes Westward Ho! special is that it's the only place name in the UK with an exclamation mark! :) But I suspect that you can also get a Devonshire Tea there. Now, do you want cream first? Or jam first?

Talking of unusual place names. How about the small coastal town in Queensland Australia named after a year? Seventeen Seventy...because Captain Cook named the cape there.

And here's another (I think) ... from the Beautiful South's 'This Old Skin'

'It was '96 in South Carolina,
That's the place and not the goddamn year'

Of course, I could be wrong. Good song though. :)

Not necessarily unusual town names but the county I grew up in Ohio had so many little villages, burgs, and wide-spots-in-the-road with official names that we held the record for getting "Saaaaa-LUTE's" on the Hee-Haw show.

It helped that Connie Smith was from there and appeared on one of the early episodes and they "Saaaa~LUTED" her hometown that night. (Warner, Ohio ~ Population 68)

Just a few years earlier, she used to change my diapers. :D

I wonder if she regarded her life as 'better' afterwards ?
