The General Board

I go to the GB solely to participate in the Death Pool. From everything else I've ever seen there, I'm not sure they make restraints big enough or strong enough to cope with that gang. I'm not too certain a nuclear weapon would even be enough.

as opposed to Specific Ignorance?

Considering the current political state of affairs here in the USA, could you be just a little more specific about the word specific? (the ignorance part is easy. ;) )

I thought 'specific' had something to do with Gravity.

I must confess that I tried to read it; struggled in places; enjoyed the bits I understood immensely; and promised myself that I would try again. And now I will.

But it must have had an influence ...

Small-town eyes, watchful;
Hatful, brimful, peaceful.
The garden bath beckons.
Bathing beauties flock in
And take their turn.
‘For my first thong …’
With the votes all counted,
Flip flop, the B-side bombed.
A bunch of pop eyes
For the winner which is over
And the spring which is sprung.
And the blackbirds strut their stuff.

etc :)

Hi Sam!

I read it every couple of years, and bits of it in between. Each time I find more in it. I enjoy writing in that abstract expressionist mode of wordandthought play now and again. Here's a bit I wrote a few years back by way of "Confession" in the SRP lounge for AususGirl13 (Ausus = risk, one taking a risk, one prepared for dint of battle.

"Blesse me Mither fer I have grinned. It’s bin a forthright of ages and aeons since me last confusion, end long I’ve bin led down the primrosest path tween devilfish and their deeperbluesea.

Yea, 13 times hath that audacious Ausustrian girl dared me heed the longpast participles of her audeamus et gaudeamus and risk readying meself for the sin and din of battled sexes reviberating in untolden measures of unfolden pleasures when thighs will be undone. And yes, me trice-holied Mither, it was meself who did the dark deeds in thought and word and meself alone who bends in blame while yet inflamed by her bends and sways. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxwellhouse cuppa, and by Java! By Joe! I’ll take her in tow to the theater’s back row at the end of the show to atone her with a very-firm-purpose of Amen-meant as we strive and scrive and shrive for a simultumultuous organum!

And what then, Mother-confessor, wouldst thou have of penisance from me, a most denoted pairisonher?"

Hello, Tio

It worked for me :)

Very good Tio! I broke up with the line:

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxwellhouse cuppa, and by Java! By Joe!

I just had a hot cuppa Earl Grey - from a small box of selected teas, including English Breakfast (they are finished) to Darjeeling, Lady Grey and Prince of Wales.

Oh Yes!
What magic words upon the screen I see.
Tio, that was damned good!

We need something to along with all the coffee and tea...

...may I suggest a couple dozen, fresh, warm, Krispy Kreme donuts?

.

May I have a simple English jam doughnut ?
I'll put the kettle on, then. . . .

Let me get those chocolate-filled, chocolate-iced ones out of the way so you can see the jam donuts, HP.

Now how about a little more of the continental breakfast fare that makes trips to Europe so enjoyable? Would someone pass me the basket of rolls and the butter?

They look absolutely decadent!

Hot fresh rolls and butter..mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so simple, and I would kill for a basket of them right now.

Thank you kindly.
My local bakery makes doughnuts like this:-

They have jam squirted into the middle and when good and fresh, are simply the best !
I suspect that the 'ring' doughnut, as illustrated, has a different formula for the dough.

Oh dear, a I feel a visit to the Baker coming on. . . .
