Former student (please pm first)

"You're the one that popped me with the towel while my back was turned. No point in playing fair if you aren't going to."

Smiling, she was aware of the situation. Here she was somewhat pinned on the counter with the Coach standing between her legs. She could feel the heat between them, and it excited her. Biting her lip she thought a moment as they looked in each others eyes. She felt an almost instant bond, but she shouldn't do this. She was about to be working with him, and anything beyond a friendly relationship could make things awkward.

Sighing softly she slid her hand down nonchalantly, pulling her skirt down between them.

"So umm, how about that pie?"

Cory was looking right at Aubrey as she bit her lip. It was obvious the attraction was there between them. Her hands reached down and tucked her skirt down in the front. Cory had been unaware that if he would have looked down he would have seen the little lacy white panties she wore.

"pie sounds good." Cory said his eyes not leaving hers. He wasn't moving either. As the words came out of his mouth Cory went for it. Leaning in towards her a little more he lost all control and as he drew closer his lips pressed against hers softly. Hoping she would embrace him back.

As he leaned in, kissing her she was surprised. Taken back a second she allowed her inhibitions to leave her, leaning into the moment for the kiss. Then she backed up, breathing. Placing her hands on his shoulders she looked in his eyes. She was enamored, confused, and she thought perhaps slightly buzzed from the wine coolers.

"I can't.. I'm sorry, Coach I."

Sliding off the counter she fumbled with her bags.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have. I mean... if we are going to work together I can't."

She held onto her purse and the bag with her cooking utensils and apron.

"I will see you Monday Coach. I'm sorry, I hope you enjoy the pie."

She turned and went to her car, determined not to let him see her cry for feeling she had hurt him. She wanted to stay, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. He had been her teacher, her mentor in a way, and she couldn't violate that trust between them. It had to be the alcohol, right? She couldn't go through with things between them and feel like either of them had been taken advantage of in a drunken haze. It wasn't the right moment.

As she pulled away tears began to stream down her face. She never intended to hurt him, but to her this just wasn't right.

As she pushed him away and left Cory felt like a complete idiot. "what the fuck are you doing?" he said out loud when he saw her car pull away. Cory went outside and sat down and began watching the game but all he could think about was the stupid thing he had just done.

The next morning (Sunday) Cory woke up and met the coaches for the weekly golf game at the country club. The coaches met early Sunday afternoon to talk about game plan for the next week and make sure everyone had the film for the next week. After leaving the golf course Cory headed home. Once home he put the DVD of last weeks game in and graded it. Followed by the upcoming weeks opponent to prepare for practice Monday afternoon. Cory tried to stay lost in football to keep his mind off the stupid thing he had done the night before. Oh how Aubrey must hate him now. He thought to himself

After getting home Aubrey crawled in bed trying to recollect herself. it had been a long and fun day until things went wrong. Sunday she spent with her parents, deciding not to talk about anything that happened the day before. In her mind it was easier to push aside the fact that anything happened then acknowledge anything went wrong, or that she screwed anything up.

As the day passed into night she got her things together for the following day, selecting a nice, but modest, dress for the following day and her first day as a teacher's aide. If he can bear to look at me after I hurt him. She set her alarm early, intending to get there early to talk things over with the Coach before classes started, to make sure everything was fine between them. If not she would spend her time tomorrow talking to a few other teachers when they had time to try and get a place helping another teacher.

When Monday morning arrived she was up before the sun, getting herself ready for a new day. After getting a cup of coffee and a light breakfast she made her way to the school. When she got there the doors were open, but the halls were mostly empty. Reminiscing about days gone by she caught herself smiling about the good times she once had in the school. After a few minutes she found herself outside the Coach's classroom door, his office inside. He hadn't arrived yet, but she knew it probably wouldn't be long, so she leaned back against the wall, waiting.

Cory had gotten to school early to work on football planning. about 15 mins before the bell was to ring Cory made his way through the hallway. Cory knew what had happen was over and was ready to put it behind him. Making his way down to his classroom Cory saw Aubrey staring there. Walking to his door he grabbed his lanyard from his pocket and found his key opening the door he smiled. "good morning Aubrey! Are you ready to see what teaching is all about?" Cory grinned and walked in the door.

Turning the lights on Cory walked to his desk turning on his computer and setting his desk for the day. Walking back around his desk he grabbed a marker to write today's objectives on the board. "there is a table in the back there you can use as your work area." Cory turned and began to write. As he was writing with his back to her "I figure today I will just let you observe kind of see how things run an then we will work you into the mix of things. How does that sound?" Cory asked as he turned around after finishing writing. Cory showed no sign of emotion or concern about what had happen last night and that is what he wanted. Cory wanted Aubrey to see his mistake the other night was not bothering him. Even if it was.

As she walked in behind him Aubrey listened intently. Heading towards the table she sat down, a comp notebook in front of her, pen at the ready to take observational notes about the teaching, the class, and the students themselves, making sure to take note of the ones who might be problem children. As Coach prepped the class she waited to see if he was going to say anything about the other night, but he said nothing. Part of her felt glad that he didn't, but part of her wished he would. Just to get it out and talk about it a moment, and see what he felt. She decided not to dwell on it, but thought maybe when he had a moment during a free period or lunch. Maybe then they could talk about things.

The bell soon rang and the students began filing in. As they set down they went straight to work. Cory not only enstilled coaching techniques on the field but in the classroom as well. It was pretty simple the students knew what was expected of them and Cory presented it in a way where it seem like work as much as fun knowledge. Everyday the students came in and copied the NORAD down of interesting fact. What most didn't know was the fact was something to do with the listen Cory just presented it in a fun way.

The students all finished and Cory stood up to begin his lecture. Looking over the class "guys this is mrs. Crest. She will be with us for a while aiding in the class. I expect you to show her the respect you show me. And no Jeff that does not mean you can throw paper at her." Cory threw a joke in there to make the kids laugh. After that he went straight into his lecture. Not only was he very passionate about football but history as well. Especially American history in which he taught. Cory taught the entire period but it seemed like only a matter of minutes as he kept everyone so engaged and interested. As the bell rang to end first period the students began getting up. "for tomorrow be ready for chapter 3! If you thought today was good wait until tomorrow!" Cory exclaimed as the students filed out and he waited for the next set to file in.

While watching the class Aubrey took note of how much more comfortable the Coach was teaching now then when he first started. The whole class went smoothly, and everyone kept actively engaged in the conversation before them. As the first couple of classes went through she found herself surprised at how easy it was to get lost in a well taught subject.

As the pre-lunch class filed out and to their lunches she got up from her table and walked over to his desk.

"Well Coach I can honestly say that you are a wonderful teacher for these kids, and I can see how comfortable you've gotten teaching since you started. Its inspiring, really."

Taking a breath she made sure she was looking into his eyes as she continued.

"Look.. about Saturday. I'm sorry I kinda freaked out, I just. I didn't mean to hurt you Coach, but I didn't want things to be weird between us while working together. I also didn't want either of us to be regretting anything later if we found ourselves wondering what happened while we were more than a little buzzed."

Setting her hand on his a moment, she smiled softly.

"Its nothing you did, I'm just not one for jumping into things so fast, and I didn't want to jeopardize a good friendship with alcohol soaked feelings. I truly am sorry if I hurt you."

Cory sat down at his desk as the students filed out the door headed for lunch. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Aubrey approaching looking up he smiled. "so what you think?" Aubrey stated how great of a teacher he was and the inspiration hebeas giving her.

Cory thanked her for the compliment. Then Aubrey brought up what had happen on Saturday night. Before he could speak she was apologizing where there was no need to. Not wanting to interupt her Cory let her finish. As she did Cory looked at Aubrey. "look it's on Aubrey. I was in the wrong and acting on emotions I shouldn't have. I take full responsibilities for what I have done and totally agree with what you are saying. Let's just forget it ever happen and I promise it won't happen again." Cory had thought about the situation and his feelings had not changed. However, he knew he couldn't press the issue. Cory figured from now on he would be the one who was going to play hard to get and she didn't bite well then it will be left at that!

As they hashed things out Aubrey felt slightly better. She was still dealing with the thoughts in her head after that night, but at least now she had some footing to stand on and work from.

After a bite of lunch she settled back in at her table, ready for another wave of students and eager to see how the rest of the day went.

After lunch they settled back in and finished the day. Cory continued to teach in his comfortable manner as Aubrey observed. As the afternoon began the last two periods of the day approached as the children walked out of the room. Cory went to his desk and closed the book he had been teaching from. "well that id a rap!" he said with a grin. "the last two periods of the day I have planning and football so I normally scat out of here to the field house. So if you want to go it is totally up to you."

Cory collected his things grabbing his bag. "so I will see you tomorrow then?" Cory looked at her as he put the strap on his shoulder. Cory didn't know what else to say or do. He still felt like a jack ass for the other night buy didn't want her to see that.

As Coach packed up to go Aubrey got her things together.

"No offense Coach, but I think I'll stay out of the field house. Football is nice to watch, but I don't feel the need to be involved in strategy planning for it."

Walking over Aubrey decided it was worth taking a leap to repair any hurt feelings between them. Hugging him tightly she gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

"Thank you for the opportunity to learn from you Coach, I'll see you tomorrow."

Aubrey smiled then headed out the door. She was tempted to turn back around though. When she hugged him she had felt the same flutter of feelings pop up from the other day. She knew in her heart she was falling for him, she just wasn't sure it was the right thing to act on those feelings.

Cory felt her hug him tightly and press against him. He them felt her lips press against his cheeks and thank him. Cory couldn't help but think of the other night when she did this. "why is she doing this to me?" Cory thought to himself as she turned and walked away. Cory headed to practice.

As practice ended Cory hopped in his truck and drove home. Once at his place he made him a make shift dinner. After cleaning up Cory opened the fridge and saw the pie that Aubrey had made.. Taking it out Cory cut him a piece. Cory's mind filled of thoughts of Aubrey and the kiss on the cheek she had given him earlier. Fighting the urge to do it but losing Cory grabbed his phone. Snapping a picture of the pie he placed it in a text and sent Aubrey a picture with the text "this pie is amazing!" Cory pressed send and then set down on the couch. His kind wondered what she would think of the text and what she was doing?

After dinner Aubrey's phone beeped. Looking at the text message she smiled, texting back "I'm glad you liked it!" Sitting down on her couch with her notes from the day she looked them over and thought about her day. Sitting there relaxing her mind wandered back to the Coach, trying to sort out her feelings and thoughts about them.

Cory finished the pie then heard his phone beep in reply. Glancing at it he smiled at her response. Trying to fight the urge to reply Cory again failed. Looking down at the phone he typed. "there is plenty left if ou would like a piece?" Cory said there debating to push send or not.

After a few moments of pondering he built up the courage and hit send. He sat the phone down and wondered what she would think. Trying to get his mind off the subject Cory turned on the tv and tried to get lost watching game film to take his mind off of her.

Lost in her thoughts Aubrey jumped slightly when the phone beeped, pulling her out of her head. Looking at the message Aubrey bit her lip. She was still torn slightly, between feelings and ideal situations. Sitting back against the couch she looked at the facts. Saturday may have gone by horribly, and possibly alcohol fueled, but she still felt something even now. Regardless of what she may want ideally she couldn't deny the fact that she had fallen for her old teacher, whether it was love or lust at the moment she was unsure. She just knew that she couldn't deny it. Grabbing a few things she sent another text. 'Sounds like a plan Coach.' Then she tossed her notebook and a small 'just in case' bag in her backseat, heading out to the Coach's place.

Cory heard his phone beep as he had gotten lost watching film. A few moments later the phone beeped again. Looking down it his eyes opened wide. After reading the message Cory knew that meant Aubrey was on her way.

Jumping from the couch he quickly threw on a pair of gym shorts and a tshirt. Not very fancy but considering he was in only boxers before he figured it was an upgrade. Looking in the bathroom mirror he checked his appearance real quick and theme headed back to the living room landing back on the couch and turning the film back on.

Aubrey pulled up, and sat in the car a moment longer. Gathering up her nerves she got out of the car, leaving her bags in the back of the car. Walking up to the door she knocked.

Corybheard the knock at the door and jumped up pausing the game film. Making his way over to the door he opened it. Smiling "well hello there. I guess you came for that piece of pie?" Cory stepped back and welcomed her in.

Cory didn't know why but he was now very nervous and seeing her again outside of school sent that feeling of lust and want through his veins again. However, he knew that he couldn't be the aggressor any more. Cory's plan was to let her make the move that way if something did happen it would be instigated by Aubrey.

Smiling softly Aubrey enters the house.

"Yes, I came for the pie. Sorry if I interrupted anything." Nodding slightly to the door. "I see you have game film in there, always working huh Coach?"

Getting a plate and a slice of pie she followed him into the living room, sitting next to him as he watched game film. Football may not have been her sport exactly, but growing up in a town where the high school team was the big fall and winter event she knew quite a bit. Every so often she would see something that Coach had missed, and pointed it out to him.

Age she cut her a piece of pie they made their way back to the living room. "you know me I am a perfectionist! So yes. I am always working." Cory smiled and sat back on the couch. Playing and rewinding plays Cory was impressed by the knowledge Aubrey had of the game he loved. On a few instances after she figured out what he was looking for she pointed out a few spots he missed.

"look at you eagle eyes. On top of things aren't you?" Cory smiled and kind of nudged her with his arm as they sat side beside on the couch. "I may have to get you a headset on Friday night and let you sit in the box and watch. " Cory laughed playfully. As the film ended Cory pushed the tv back over to the cable channels. Flipping through the channels Cory then handed the remote to Aubrey. "ok we watched my show. So I guess it is only fair to let you choose one now."

Laughing softly as he hands her the remote, Aubrey flipped through a few channels. "I don't watch much tv Coach, but who knows.." As she flipped through a few more channels she stumbled upon the fact that he had the premium movie channels, finding a showing of 'The Usual Suspects' she set the remote down.

"Here we go..." Aubrey smiled, settling in slightly for the movie.

"the usual suspect huh? I do not think I have ever seen this." Cory said smiling settling back on the couch. Leaning towards the arm rest Cory stretched out placing his feet up on the coffee table. "so are you a big fan of these types of movies? Or did the name just get ya?"

Cory laughed a little and stretched out a little more. "you need a blanket or anything? You comfy?" Cory was still a little nervous but seemed to be settling in slightly.

Smiling Aubrey relaxed on the couch. "I love this movie.. Kevin Spacey is awesome." Watching the Coach put his feet up she giggled slightly. "No, no blanket, I'll be fine. Thanks for asking though." Watching close she kept herself from mouthing her favorite lines along with the movie.
