I think you can make a solid case that they're better known now than they were 40 years ago. I don't think they were ever much more than a cult act (except in Washington, where they were inexplicably really big) when Lowell George was alive. But since then, so many acts have cited them as an influence that their music keeps getting re-introduced to new audiences.

Yeah, Little Feat's not really forgotten. I read the name The Godz a long time ago. This is the first time I'm hearing it. He sounds a bit like Alice Cooper, but better.

So I got a PM from someone telling me that X wasn't forgotten. Of course they weren't, not totally. I don't pretend that I'm the only one with a memory. What I'm trying to do here is pull up bands that had impacts on other musicians. Bands that no longer get air play.
