Forgetting "to be"

There is a trend to shorten speech by leaving out the verb "to be"

For instance:

"The floor needs swept."
"My ass needs licked. "
"My cock needs fucked."
"My nipples need pinched. "

I find this lazy speech objectionable, and indicative of the moral decay of society. Frankly, I think we all are going to hell.

What do you think?

I think I don't need to think. I think I need a drink. No, I'm convinced.:)

I'm not bothered by grammar that is intentionally mangled. What bothers me is the fact that some people think that is correct English. One should learn correct English first--then mangle it. ;)

You're scaring me.

I think it would be:

I ask or not. That is the question.

Those are all things that need to be done. I was thinking more along the lines of just being...as long as my floor isn't swept, the rest could just happen while I be...substitute "Loooovve nest" for cock.

My fourth grade teacher taught us that it was correct to say "I am going to clean house/wash dog/wax shoes." I argued endlessly with him about this, I mean there's an article missing (THE, duh), but he insisted that in the annals (huh huh, I wrote 'annal') of the English language, it was unnecessary to use an article in this situation. I hated him. I think he might go to hell.

Did he open annals of english to show you? (intentionally leaving out the article preceeding annals).

I am certain he has gone to hell already anyway.

Everyone needs to believe something.....I believe I'll have another beer

This would make a great name for a tv show then:

Who wants a millionaire?

Or a name for a song:

Born Wild

Thanks for setting that straight, dood. Let me add as well - so as to avoid confusion for English speakers in the future - the major pronouns:

I

You (singular, plural)

He

She

It

We (royal, plural)

They

Next week: object pronouns, possessive pronouns.

Are you calling me possessive ? Or an object worthy of possession.

I think you are infinitive.

And I am just grammatically correct.

Hmmmmf.
