This is going to piss off NN but I can't seem to hotlink these correctly so you'll have to push the links.

It all started in this shop in the middle of the woods:

Hotlinks appear to not have been forged of the same stuff. :(

Not working.

I drew the shape of the knife I wanted on the metal and then cut it out on the wheel.

Can you see them now? This is going to take a long time. Sorry!

See them.........Good job

I watch the show regularly think about selling my woodworking tools for an anvil and furnace.

Attachments are a different thing. I look forward to this thread.

The Dolf trick is to edit your post using the LIT address for the upload in the IMG code.

I had a hard time deciding between a hollow blade or a flat blade but I really prefer the look of the hollow blade.

I put in holes for the pins to hold the handle and also holes to reduce weight.

I cut out two knives, one in stainless and one in 1080 steel (carbon steel) the stainless has to be heat treated in a furnace but the 1080 I heat treated with a torch.

Also: the stainless is air quenched and the 1080 is oil quenched.

I love that you got the chance to do that. It's something I've always wanted to learn.

Now it's time to wait. So I went shed hunting with the pup.

Nice!

Final edge sharp enough to shave the hairs of the back of your arm with?

This is way cool.

How does this all work? Is it like a class at the art's center? Pay a fee, learn to forge?
