No, it's the tuition curve. Foreigners take the engineering and hard science courses, Americans take women's studies, sociology, and such. Not enough cross-overs to blow the grade curve.

The foreigners take the classes that give them good degrees, the American's take the minimum effort classes so they can have a degree. In America the paper seems to be more important than the substance of the degree. Besides why would an American want to take one of those hard classes, it gets in the way of the parties and the sports.

And they do pay cash, but so does the government re. the student loans. As far as the schools are concerned it's a wash.

On the degree programs, you have that nailed. Why do you think we issue so many H1-B Visa's? Or why so many 'Classical Studies' graduates are unemployed and living in their parents basements?

When you give money away for education there seems to be a growing tendency for the US student to take the easiest path without any great consideration of the future. Sad state of affairs.

Again, I will ask, how is this the foreign students' fault? The American people have taught their children to take the easy way out. It's not the foreign students fault per se', merely a consequence. Universities are NOT charitable organizations, they are business's. If you make the money available, they are going to make certain that as little, if any, is left laying on the table.

It's like going to your lawyer or accountant, you can sit there and talk about your family or your business. Makes no difference to them, they're still going to charge you $250/hr (+/-). In one case you wasted your money and time, in the other you may have gotten what you paid for. Personal decisions every one. You sure as hell didn't waste their time, they billed you for every increment.

However, this is off track. Kerry is still a bloviating piece of shit. Dollars to doughnuts that those 'foreigners' that are afraid to attend US univ. are mostly those that can't afford to do so anyway. When all else fails, deflect. Political pap from a political hack.
