they instead, show up as a *******'d word.

for example:

David Tennant, a frequent subject here,
when misspelled with an 'e' rather than an 'a'
appears as - - - David ******t

the ten-en part is auto redacted... +++ thanks, no doubt to (ms.) k(ar)en...

Burt Bacarac(sp.), a less frequent subject here,
when properly spelled
appears as - - - Burt B******ch

the ach-ara part is auto redacted...
why?
some butt hurt person with that name?
who knows...?

there is lore of other lost words here...

post on this thread when you find an auto-redacted word on the boards
i'm curious;
not just to know the words,
but to decipher the buried stories.

when spelled as in the color

it's a website. i know that much...
curious what's there...
what it has to do with lit?

but the hyperlink - when attempted in the example above - also auto-redacted into stars

Links to websites which are known to spread malware and worse are blocked by the admins. This sometimes leads to unintended consequences, such as common words disappearing in the post.

The links were mostly from sites trying to lure Litsters away, to visit some other site, or someone trying to
flog some kind of wares.

Ah! Since Firefox came into my life, I have not been to pop-up extravaganza, in a very long time.
Not to mention strange keyboard malfunctions. I am happy, not to be forced to know what other
tricks are practiced on the unsuspecting.
(L&M provide part of the protection, I am sure. They run a pretty clean, dream machine.)
