Exactly. Personally, I have raised a few thousand bucks myself and used that to contribute to Ukrainian fundraises, as well as donating needed equipment to Ukrainian army units. Early on, when their Army was short of basic stuff like winter kit and body armor and medical kits, I bought things like winter sleeping bags and medical aid kits. as well as the small stuff you need like tac gloves and boots, and contributed to fund raisers for things like body armor, night vision equipment, helmets. I even have a miniscule share in the contributions towards buying 60 Spartan IFV's. LOL. Nowadays, I contribute primarily to fund raisers for drones, altho there are still many Ukrainian army units, partifcularly the Territorial units, that are still short on some of the basic equipment they need.

I can do far more to help Ukraine by raising money and contributing to fund raisers for essential equipment like more drones than by running off to join their Army. They're perfectly capable of fighting for themselves, and want to do so - unlike every other "ally" we've supported in the last twenty years (except maybe for the Kurds)

At the close of 2024, the Ministry of National Defence of Portugal delivered eight SA-330 Puma helicopters to Ukraine as part of a military assistance package. The delivery to Ukraine has now been confirmed and these helicopters are now in service with the Ukraine military.

A feature of the Portuguese SA-330 Puma is the use of advanced fire control systems, which enables the launch of Exocet anti-ship missiles. In the nose of the helicopter, there is an ORB-31 X-band radar, which can be tailored for different helicopter models. This advanced system is designed for detecting and identifying surface targets, providing weather alerts, assisting with navigation, and supporting fire control to engage both surface and submarine targets.

Like the British and German Sea King helicopters that have been transferred to Ukraine, the Portuguese Pumas are quite old, having been in service from 1970 to 2009, and were actively involved in operations in North Africa during the colonial wars.

Even if we assume that Putin is 100% a bad actor, it doesn't change anything I said. Russia has taken control of tens of thousands of square miles of Ukraine. That's WITH at least $150billon in US assistance. If your only solution is Russia being pushed all the way out, how do you accomplish that?

Keep in mind a number of things, and #1 is, this is Democratic Party accounting.

The US has allocated about $119.5 billion since 2022, with a further $5.1 billion committed but yet to be allocated. So $120 billion. You can play with the numbers, add in stuff, take stuff out, but $120 billion seems to be the real number.

A little more than half of this, or $67 billion consists of military assistance, with the remainder made up of humanitarian and financial assistance. The military assistance estimate is broadly consistent with the US government’s own figures, with the State Department reporting in January that the US had provided $65.9 billion in military assistance since February 2022. So of that $120 billion, half was humanitarian aid. That can be cut - other countries will front up for that - Japan, for example, which does not provide military assisstance but can front up for those kind of efforts. Now of that humanitarian aid, we can pretty much guarantee that s substantial amount was Democratic Party grift that, as Zelensky has pointed out, never even reached Ukraine.

Of the "$67 billion", military assistance, again, this is Govt Accounting Scam 101, deliberately miscommunicated by both the Democrats and Trump for their own purposes.

- What we have sent was NOT new equipment. We sent old end of life Bradleys, Strykers and M1's, old gun, and old ammo and missiles that was reaching it's use-by date and would otherwise have had to be disposed of. This old stuff was all budgeted at Replacement Cost. Let's emphasis that. REPLACEMENT COST. That means we booked it at what it would cost to replace the old stuff we sent to Ukraine, and that old stuff had a book value of, essentially, zero (for things like the Bradleys, Strykers and M1's sitting in the desert waitimg to be recycled). Old Bradleys are constantly being sent off for recycling. They are worth their value in scrap metal.

- We booked those old Bradley's at replacement cost and that was what was budgeted and approved. What happened to that money, because we're sure not building replacement Bradley's? Only the Pentagon and a few politicians likely know. BUT Ukraine did NOT get $67 billion of weapons. They got maybe a couple of billion dollars worth at best - remember, scrap metal value. As for the ammo and missiles, almost everything we sent them was end of life or near end of life. That stuff is toxic, and we pay to dispose of end of life ammo. It's not cheap. Sending that old ammo to Ukraone actually SAVED us money. Let me say that again. WE SAVED MONEY by sending that old shit to Ukraine and letting them dispose of it on Russians for us. Win-win.

The true cost is likely a few billion - and a lot of "replacement cost" dollars pumped into the US defense industry, no doubt with kickbacks to politicians of both parties for working so hard to pull off this giant scam. Sure, there's some real costs in there, but that's the few billion.

In return, we have been given access to a huge amount of intelligence and real-war experience which has saved us from what would likely have been an inevitable defeat at the hands of the Chinese military, because we are in no way, shape, or form prepared for the kind of assymmetric warfare China would use (and as Ukraine is showing, a $500 drone can easily take out a $1,000,000 tank). We no longer have to learn that rather costly lesson ourselves.

We could easily give Ukraine all the military equipment they need to win this war - a 1000 Bradley's at a real cost of zero (scrap metal, remember) and a 100 old F16's out in the desert (book value, zero) - someone else would pay to refurbish them - and intelligence (we capture that anyhow). If it's Kursk you're talking about, you've been listening to too much Russian propaganda. Twin lightning bolts my ass!!!!!! Stay away from the RT and Telegram channels. The best way to approach this is to follow ALL perspectives - Russian, Ukrainian and neutral. I like Tom Cooper myself - he supports Ukraine but is not afraid to crticize them and point out their shortcomings where appropriate - and the ZSU does have a lot of shortcomings. The Russian forces re-initiated their offensive and took Lebedevka, placing them within 6 km of the main road to Sudzha. Over the last four days, they’re assaulting from the north-east in the direction of Sudzha. Within the frame of this effort, on 8 March the Ukrainian reports have it that the Russians attempted to use an underground portion of the local gas-pipeline (east of Bohdanivka) to infiltrate troops into the town: The Ukrainians claim these were detected (apparently by the 95th Airborne) and an entire unit of the Russian DShV (1st Volunteer Expeditionary Assault Corps) - some 80 troops - killed.

At the same time, the North Koreans took the ZSU by surprise, crossed the Psel River to the south-east and drove about 4,000 metres (4 kilometres) deep into the Ukrainian rear, almost reaching the international border and threatening the Ukrainian secondary supply route. The ZSU claims to have hit them hard with cluster ammunition, and stopped this advance cold. But, there’s no denial: this accelerated the Ukrainian withdrawals from Pogrebki and Cherkasskoe Porechnoe….

With limited space to evacuate casualties and bring in replacements, ammo and food, it became extremely difficult to supply the Ukrainian forces. Russia is also constantly bombing and shelling positions and supply routes inside Ukraine. This is why the ZSU has evacuated some of units out of the bulge, and then withdrawn others to the railway line north/north-east of the town.

ZSU GenStab-U stressed, ‘Ukraine will not abandon its gains in Kursk’, but the fact is that by withdrawing from the northern side of the bulge and consolidating its positions closer to Sudzha, the ZSU reduced the threat of getting units cut off, and also reduced the pressure upon its logistical system.

As for drones, the Rubican Center of Advanced Unmanned Systems is an effective Russian drone unit that operates in Velyka Novosilka and Pokrovsk but is most heavily involved in Kursk. Their drones are not the cumbersome fiber optic drones but are extremely hard to jam. They’ve taken a heavy toil on Ukrainian logistics and directly contributed to the current situation. Rubicon hasn’t released new videos so Ukraine may or may not have adjusted.

No, it's not a bloodbath. Yes, it is a heavily contested battle zone and one the Russians are focusing everything on. Which is what Ukraine intended when they went in there. Now, a caveat: The Ukrainian EuromaidanPress is claiming that the ‘US provided all the intelligence information to Russia on the Kursk region. Which explains the instant and stunning success of the Russians in the Kursk direction.’ No idea if that is true, but if it is that's a stunning betrayal and places America squarely on the side of Russia. It also instantly removes the USA as a neutral arbiter of any peace / ceasefire negotiations. Going forward, it also means Ukraine and it's new intelligece allies (France and the UK) need to cut the USA out of all intelligence loops.

The USA's former allies (that's what they are now, even if ties have not yet been formally dissolved) are now reconsidering what information they will share with America out of fear it will be shown to Russia. Trump already revealed highly classified information to Russia eight years ago.

Chuck Grassley (R-IA) made bombshell claims after reviewing an FBI FD-1023 form that documented the informant’s allegations of an alleged bribery scheme involving an exchange of money for policy decisions between now-President Joe Biden and a foreign national. Comer disclosed the informant tip is dated June 30, 2020.

Ukraine Industry Produced 154 x 155mm Artillery Systems in 2024​

The President did not specify which systems he was talking about, but it is likely to be 155-mm 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled howitzers. "This is a record. In our opinion, 154 systems in a year is more than all NATO countries did together last year. This year we will do more,” President Zelenskyy added.

According to previous official statements made in May 2024, the Ukrainian defense industry had reached a production rate of 10 Bohdana self-propelled howitzers per month. Later, in October, it became known that Ukraine was producing up to 20 Bohdana self-propelled howitzers per month. Thus, the total production of 154 self-propelled artillery systems is quite realistic. The production is financed both from the state budget of Ukraine and under the so-called “Danish model.” For 2025, it's quite likely that 20 per month will be exceeded, meaning at least 250 of these guns well be manufactured and supplied to the ZSU for use in exterminatng the Russian infestation.

In October 2024, a prototype of the Bohdana-B towed artillery system was presented for the first time. It is built on the carriage of the 152 mm 2A36 “Giatsint-B” gun, with structural modifications. If this also goes into production, this will make more artillery available to Ukraine. Worth noting is that 154 guns is more than all the NATO countries produced together.

For this reason, they decided to deploy elements of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division to reinforce their defenses in the city. Units of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division have been engaged since the beginning of the war, with their most recent deployment being at the Pokrovsk direction, where they sustained severe losses in manpower and equipment. Their deployment for urban fighting in Toretsk means they will sustain even heavier losses, as this Russian contingent of forces had already depleted its combat capabilities in Pokrovsk.

Overall, the Russian defenses in Toretsk keep crumbling with continued Ukrainian territorial gains and desperate attempts of the Russian command to salvage the situation. The deployed Russian reinforcements are inadequate for countering the Ukrainian advance, as they consist of already depleted forces, which will result in fragmented Russian operations at Toretsk. This will allow the Ukrainians to maintain the tactical initiative, tightening the noose around the Russian-controlled center of Toretsk.

With Russian reserves committed to Kursk, and no other reserves available, the Russians can only counter this by drawing units from other areas of the front, weakening those in turn. The Russian front is an increasingly thin shell.....

Yes, we all know Putin thinks Ukraine should be part of Russia, which is what your linked article says. You claimed Putin plans to invade Europe (or at least Eastern Europe. ) The article you linked to says nothing of the sort.

Putin may have plans to invade New Zealand, but he's neither suggested that he will nor has any logical reason to do so. You don't have to agree with the justification for the invasion of Ukraine that he provided to Carlson, but Putin seems to believe it. That rationale is inapplicable to any NATO country.

It also makes no sense. Russia clearly lacks capacity to go to war with NATO. Whatever you think of Putin, he's not a fool. Hitler has good reason to believe Germany could conquer and hold Europe militarily. If he'd avoided war with Russia, he might have been right. Putin has no reason at all to believe he could attack a NATO country. This is true regardless of what happens in Ukraine.
