... have you ever seen the classic stereotypical pin-up type Flight Attendants? I haven't flown since the late 90s , but all I recall were typical, more or less frumpy working type women you might see in any other job.

Well they certainly don't dress this way any more but there are no shortage of sexy women as flight attendants.

Just flew last week and all the female attendants had on pants, but their backsides filled them nicely!

I used to fly a lot for work in the 2000s and 2010s, and even then I'd say that your typical flight attendant was no more attractive than the women I'd see working any other job. Did I see some great-looking ones? Sure, but I've also seen a lot of great-looking office workers.

I have flown a lot for a number of years. Most FAs flying for legacy carriers in the US have been older and tend toward the frumpier but also tend toward folks who don't appear to like their jobs (not always true). Some newer airlines will tend to have younger, attractive FAs. Foreign airlines are much more likely to -- some airlines have forced retirement ages and weight requirements. One of the Vietnamese airlines had stunning flight attendants.

I fly…a lot. To add a few more things to what has been offered above. Most of the legacy carriers early on tended to hire young women. At the dawn of the Jet Age, this was typical and usually the standards were high for looks and body type. These women usually were married (by pilots for the respective company sometimes) off and starting families hung up their wings. In the early 70’s things started to change and these women, and sometimes men at this juncture, started hanging in there and making it a career. Good thing as quite a few more experienced Flight Attendants have been credited with saving lives in emergency events (think the DC10 crash in Sioux City, Iowa).

Fast forward to where we are today, as the luster and prestige of flying has dulled, the job still attracts a certain look, but now in our PC culture, the looks standard is a thing of the past. It is still enforced in Pacific Rim Airlines though. They even have a mandatory retirement age that is in the early 30’s if I’m not mistaken. Virgin AL’s, Lufthansa, British Airways Jumbo crews still have plenty of eye candy though. Sadly the US would be ranked in the bottom of any “looks” for crews.

Cathay Pacific (at least on the long haul flights) we’re all very attractive. The closest I’ve seen to the retro pics.

For about 20 years I think I almost lived 'up in the air'. But since I normally turned left on boarding the aircraft, I seldom saw a flight attendant under the age of 35. That said, some of those older girls who ran things in First Class and Business Class certainly knew how to make you feel welcome. No complaints from me.

Flying on Southwest recently, I saw a couple of very attractive flight attendants.

On a flight with my ex before CoVID we had exit aisle seats. One of the flight attendants was in a jump seat facing us from across the exit aisle, our side of the plane.
She was close to 6ft before heels, and was wearing 2.5 to 3" heels.
Thin pencil skirt with legs up to there.
My ex is a boob man, but this flight I don't think he could tell you if she had boobs or shoulders or a head.

Deltalina. Always look for her cameo in the safety video. Otherwise, most of the flight attendants I've seen recently have been attractive people in different ways.

It is hard to characterize a career type judgmentally in my opinion.

I used to live in the air myself, and found that as a whole, flight attendants had very low wages compared to what was asked of them. I think that contributes to their frumpy look, but then again so do the demands.

They get up all hours of the day and night, have to live in hotels with the barking dogs, ice machines, and people next door having sex when all they want to do is get some sleep. Add in the fact that the whole world is shorthanded on employees, and they are overworked, but expected to put on a smile and be nice to passengers in a world that is getting more coarse, vulgar and demanding. And then there is the repetitive nature of what they do. This includes those same rude passengers that somehow, they think their coffin-sized carry-on bag is going to fit in the overhead compartment, which they have to address... with a smile mind you.

As for their more modern dress; that is interesting. They do not actually wear "pantyhose", but rather compression hose that is a little different. This is to help with the constantly changing air pressures they are subjected too. For those that make a career of it, they would be smart to wear them for that reason, and why the pencil skirt and compression hose look was part of the dress code for so many years. There is an argument that it can be burdensome too, because in an accident, like what happened in Washington DC, the flight attendant received severe buns to her legs because her mandated compression hose, melted to her legs during the ensuing fire. So the argument is thus: What is worse; the possibility of blood clots from constantly changing air pressures, or burns from a fire in the case of an accident?

All I can say is: no wonder they look frumpy.

The skies are still littered with horny FA, do not worry. There are experienced FA out there that know how to wind a passenger up for sure, there are also the younger FA in the skies. Me I am a simpleton and prefer experience FA , Way more fun and less up tight

I have a friend who has been a FA for many years (very much a MILF). I seem to recall from a few full body pictures that she and her female colleagues wear skirts, but more knee length than the minis shown above. They probably have choices between skirts and pants. I'd imagine the specific attire just depends on the FA and maybe the airline.
