I am wondering how many Military personnel (past or present) we have on LIT.

I was raised to be proud of all our different Military branches, even though my father, paternal grandfather & grandmother, maternal grandfather, great-uncles, etc. were all in the Air Force.

I hadn't seen a post about this, so decided to see if it would get any response.

If there are any Military personnel here, I would like you to know that you're appreciated & respected.

Poem I wrote:

"To Our Soldiers"

You're protecting our freedom
Though many may not understand
In a show of gratitude
I give you my hand

You are our warriors
Though some will not say it aloud
Hold your head up high
For you make me so very proud

Thank you for what you've given us
Our freedom for another day
You are our Soldiers of America
Of the Great USA

I'd like to hear what anyone would like to add. Thanks.

THANK YOU, SWEETIE

I served in the U.S. Navy from 1988-1996 as a broadcast journalist. I was stationed in Crete, Japan, Diego Garcia and the Naval Academy. I got out as an E-5, air warfare-qualified. I loved every minute of it and would do it again, if I were younger and didn't have so many bills :) What a great idea for a thread. It was an honor and a privilege to serve my country.

I would like to add....

I would like to add my personal thanks for the men and women (past and present) of the armed services who protect the very rights and freedoms that I and many others hold so dearly. I know that at times that this country gets involved where it shouldn't but our soldiers go in and do the job regardless. For this all I can say is:

Thank you!

Thak You

Served in the Marines more years ago than I care to think about and it feels good to hear people saying good things about the military personnel. Again, Thank You

THANK YOU, DEVIL DOG!

Thanks, to all of the military folks and the family members who support them, also. Thanks, Monster. Some people don't understand that it's the military that protects the right to post on a site like this.

Happy 4th, everyone,

WG

I have had relatives I think in just about every branch, not sure about the air force. I have a cousin that is a navy seal and I know he was just over in the war. Don't know if he is still over there, but I do know that he is ok. I like so many others seem to take for granted what our country has and forget that it is our armed services that protect our rights until the wars, 9/11, military honoring holidays,etc... remind us. Even sometimes those just seem like another day. But when we watch the movies depicting the wars,etc.... we realize just how tragic war can be. I work with lots of veterans. I salute and honor all the ppl who are serving or have served to protect our country/rights.

Mitary

US Navy, 1966-1972. Not a good time for a kid to be in the military :(

The recognition and remberance, not only for us but for those still in harm's way, Sassy, is much appreciated.

Thanks, Everyone.
It's wonderful to know that there are others out there who realize the importance of our Armed Forces.

No matter whether they agree with the "why" of where they are, our Military get in there & get the job done. I know Vietnam was misunderstood & cannot believe how OUR military was treated when they returned home... my dad was over there, I know how he was treated when he came home & it sickened me!

They put their lives & limbs on the line daily for what? Us. They do it for those of us who are safely at home living our everyday lives. Why do you think we feel so safe on our home shores? Because of them. They protect our freedom. They fight for our freedom. I for one am greatly AWED by their unselfish acts of bravery.

To Our Military: You are LOVED & APPRECIATED
:rose:   :rose:

I was in the Navy from late 95' to early 03'. I wanted to thank all the people on here for giving a shout out to all the military members. It seems that some just don't understand the price of freedom that so many take for granted. Thank you for your support! :)

USN, 87-93 loved the job...too bad the pay sucks...great experience..:D

I would like to honor our military men too!

But I would enjoy honering them in the privacy of my bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc.

I just have to add that the best sex I ever had was with a Navy man. He had a great body and he told me how great I was to serve my country in such a giving way!

& THANK YOU, Navalsailor23, for your years of dedication.

Yes Sultry, my dear

You are a darling little thing...

Well as a ex soldier (U.S. Army E-5,1965/1968, 75th Infantry, Veit Nam holder of the Purple Heart) I may not support the president but my heart is with the great men and women of are armed forces. I have a pretty good idea what they face every day and understand their bravery. So from one ol'e soldier I salute you and the fantastic job that your doing. My house will wear a yellow ribbon and the flag until every one of you are home safe. Thank you and GOD speed....:D

When you asked about past or present, I fit that catagory. I was in the Navy from '77 to '83. I enlisted last year into the active reserves as I felt that there was something I could help with. September 11, 2001 has changed a great number of minds about militay service.
:D

THANK YOU, JADED

I appreciate your sacrifice and the pain you went through over there and coming home.

Ahh if only I could find that man again.

I talked to him a couple months after are meeting. He called me. I tried to call him back a month after that and his cell was disconnected. Don't know if he had to go fight, I am assuming he did but I wish I could find another lover that giving. Cutest thing was he had this southern accent going on so whenever he said something naughty it just made me gush twice as much.

LOL. That's a cute story. I hope he is safe, if he's still over there. It figures you Jerseyites would be suckers for southern accents.

I thank you. But you see my war is over. This is not the same country that I fought for. It is of my opoin that the true Amercians (the people) no longer have any say in this great country. Way to much power has gotten into the hands of the politicans. We are simply dragged around by are nose ring. The true Americans have to reclaim this country. Now this is only my personal opion!

Well, it appears that you are speaking your mind right now. True, we have given up too much of our lives to Federal control, but that's what the ballot box is for: to change what you don't like. Personally, I love and support the president. He's got a tough job and a lot of messes to clean up. The country will never be perfect but we can all do our part to elect leaders who value individual freedom and don't tax and regulate our lives into a socialist state.

And when was the last time that you honestly feel that your vote counted.... Do you real believe that there is any differences between the two partys? In its present direction you are headed for a police state. Once again this is only my own opion!

All I have done was to give you something to think about! Before individual opions will no longer be allowed!
