After reading WriterDom's list of questions for subs, I thought it would be interesting to hear responses from the Dom/mes here.

What sort of response from a sub gets your attention?

What sort of response from a sub turns you off?

Do you post the ad just to give a potential sub something to read about you when you make contact or do you actually want a sub to contact you first?

Have you ever struggled to find the right words hoping to inspire a response from a potential sub?

How much weight do you put on appearances if the sub posts a pic?

Politeness & good manners.

I like it when someone asks to chat/respond to an ad I have posted. Direct and to the point.

What sort of response from a sub turns you off?

Sexual innuendo and pics of naked body parts

My ad's sole focus is to give subs who are looking for my kind of Dominant a person to apply to. Everything else comes later in my own good time (if they make the cut).

Have you ever struggled to find the right words hoping to inspire a response from a potential sub?

I would not post if I did not know what I wanted. I am not browsing.

How much weight do you put on appearances if the sub posts a pic?

Hardly any. At best I look for personal pride in whatever God gave them. I like a good smile.

I've never run an ad, nor can I imagine doing so... but somehow this doesn't surprise me, that there'd be a disparity, I mean.

Thank you for the responses.

Eb, I must be figuring you out because I wasn't at all surprised by any of your answers.

Richard and Sandia, I'm not surprised at the disparity either. I suspect a fair number of female subs are reluctant to reply to ads because of our nature. So, hypothetically speaking, perhaps you could answer the questions?

I am a simple, shy unassuming Domme, with simple unassuming tastes....NOT

Thanks Des!

I occasionally get contacted first, but it's usually someone that's 1000s of miles away. Instead of writing a narrative, I usually will put up a poem which I guess is a little unusual.

What sort of response from a sub gets your attention?

Any response gets my attention, since the majority don't bother to respond. The more attractive they are, the less likely it's seems that you'll get a response.

Perhaps I should put more effort into responses, but that could also lead to a cookie cutter response, that would fit anyone with just a parameter change here and there.

It's a little fustrating because sometimes it seems that the pickings are pretty thin, and it's hard to find someone on even a bordering state that I haven't contacted.

So usually I just browse the pics once in a while from all over just for fun. Some of the naked ones are entertaining. Or look to see if there is any fresh meat close by.

I asked about lines because I used one last night. This lady is far away, probably wont lead to anything, but I found her very attactive and loved what she wrote. I sent her a one liner "you are the reason men write poetry" And it just melted her heart. So today she gave me her email address and yahoo id. I am breaking one of my distance rules, but at this point I'm just looking for a friend.

WD, as Shadowsdream says, distance is a factor only if you make it one.

And I have found that to be true. When I contact all who interest me no matter how near or far they may be, it opens the universe for me. Next thing I know I am hearing from subs from 20 miles away. I think it was I just opened myself to any possibilities. Try it, it can't hurt.

WD, thanks for the response. If all you get is a friend, it will still be a plus. You never know what the future holds.

Long, steamy letters usually get my attention, particularly if they are out of the blue from someone I've not met.

It Depends. But I do enjoy it when the quiet grrl in the corner whispers in my ear.

Have you ever struggled to find the right words hoping to inspire a response from a potential sub?

Struggled for the right words? That's funny!

The same as in IRL, no more, no less. I dont think I'm any more superficial or shallow than the other devilishly handsome international playboyz.

I don't know what you are looking for, WD, but if you are interested in a LTR wouldn't willingness to relocate be more important than distance?

When I met my partner (online) she lived 5 states from me. We met in the middle and both of us relocated.
