Is it soccer or do you have a bunch of meatheads running into each other after pigskin?

But I can't decide if I'd rather watch naked women playing football more than I'd rather watch naked women playing american football. Naked women's basketball is a must see. It's great being Gawd, I have something like xray vision.

Gawd, why are you asking us questions again????

I just don't understand, YOU'RE supposed to have all the answers. Not us.

I'm beginning to think you're not really Gawd after all.

Weird Harold, can you help Gawd, he's forgotten some of the answers already.

Of course I'm Gawd, peach. I just wish you people would make up your minds. Is football soccer or is football that thing Americans do? Could you imagine Pele playing for the Saints? Me neither.

It depends where you are. If you are in Canada or the US, then Football is what we americans do. If you are in most of the rest of the world, then football's what we americans call soccer. Follow these simple guidelines and you will live a prosperous, peaceful life.

no offense, hopefully, but....

I have played football and I have played soccer. Football requires toughness, enough intelligence to understand the intricacies and variations on each formation and each play offensively or defensively. It requires a higher courage and spirit than other sports and produces more camraderie among its teammates. That is why it is so special to North Americans.

Soccer requires stamina. The team I played on was mostly football players and wrestlers trying to keep in shape and a couple foreign exchange students with a little talent. We destroyed any team that had skill and talent because we just knocked down their players as soon as they crossed midfield. They tried putting moves and fanciness on us and got slide tackled or run over for their trouble. We won much more often than not.

Rugby is the closest thing y'all have to football and it's a lot more fun...actually takes more skill than soccer.

I loved playing soccer though because I got to hit a lot of people who thought they were the shit.

rugbys a lot more fun than soccer...nothing compares to football, especially if you're in a high school or college that cares

The saying is something along these lines...

Football is a gentlemens game played by ruffians
Rugby is a ruffians game played by gentlemen.

But female rugby..... that's something else :):)

i disagree about what you said about "soccer" ... yes different people will argue which sport is better thats just a matter of taste

but football is alot more complicated then you made out ... im a girl and i play football against guys alot stronger then me (and they do tackle rough against me even though im a girl) ... but skill can always win (i bet i could make you look silly sometimes rambling man :) ) ... thats why players young as 15 or 16 can still play top level football and do very well ... even though they have less stamania and strength ... also soccer has a high degree of bravery if you want to do well ... putting your head where other people are kicking or clashing your head against other players ... theres alot of times when soccer players do things where they know they will get hurt and they dont back down

also there was the famous goal keeper that played on even though it was later found out he had broken his neck :)

definitely today

when I was 18 maybe so maybe no....no one on our team would have hit you or tackled you...we were backwards in a chivalristic kind of way, the best way to be backwards I guess

We played against our share of foreigners, though, even some that played in college. Rough play seemed to really frustrate them. If I were playing against you, I probably would have placed myself in a position to cut you off wherever you wanted to go and if you came into me, just nudge you off the ball and get it down the field. Now if you were a guy, you'd be on your ass one way or the other.
You didn't prove the complicated nature of soccer. As far as being complicated, I think football (American) has to be one of the most complicated and intricate sports designed.

Yes you do have to be brave to play soccer, if you're a little guy. When a team played against us, their offensive players had to go against the starting defensive tackle and defensive end (me) the all time winningnest wrestler in our school history, and the second string football center. The goalie was a crazy motherfucker who just liked to break people's legs. Our plan was simply to beat the hell out of and knock down the opposing offensive players no matter what. More often than not we had them on their heels five minutes into the game attempting shots from 30 yards out. It was not pretty soccer but it was very effective and a helluva lot of fun.

Now like I said, rugby really kicked ass although I maintain if you play both of the sports correctly, football hits harder than rugby

yes rugby has no pads, but the object is to stop the other player, not kill him. Also, your team physically supports and cushions you if you are exposed when you receive the ball..that is if the team plays right

In football, if you play right, there are bone crushing and destructive hits you just do not get in rugby. A quarterback hit by a man weighing 300 pounds and running a 4'7 in the 40 on the blind side, that's a hit...going back and running the next play is courage...same with a receiver catching a pass over the middle and saying hello to Mr. Free Safety as he buries him. And don't even tell me about kickoff team. If you have never seen football, visualize two medieval armies in their armor running into each other in battle at a full run

i must be the blonde in the middle grabbing the other girls bum :)

my point rambling guy was that in soccer strength isnt the only factor and it doesnt matter how tough or strong you are a smaller more skillful player will have a very good chance against you

i think in soccer too there can be just as many painful hits as in rugby or american football :) ... but i wont argue american football / rugby are the more physical strength sports ... soccer is more balanced between strength and speed and skill ... im a girl and i can be a very good soccer player against men that are stronger then me ... this wouldnt be the case in rugby or american football and thats why for me its intresting ... and i also doubt when you did play these foreign students that they were english ... english soccer has the best mix of strength speed and skill ... some of the other countries are more skillful but england has best all round balance i think

fair nufff

I did enjoy playing soccer and I always had a good time. Let's play someday! You just have to give me a month or so to get back into form!

In the meantime....Let's GOOOO Mountaineers!!!!!!

hehe i wont play you at american football though i dont want to be flatened

i think you could.....many girls play american football at the high school level..they play wide receiver or kicker, usually...my old coach used to try and recruit fast girls from the track team

you sound tough enough to play...besides, there are very few guys who would try and flatten a girl in a game..at least where I grew up anyway

is awesome

I never was a jock for team sports- rather I enjoyed surfing and skating.

The exception is football.

I LOVE FOOTBALL!!!!!
