Right, I've been posting a lot on the "Irish" thread recently about European football (That's soccer to all the Americans out there) and I've decided to start a thread on it. There's really no set guidelines for it, just discuss anything pertinant and relating to Football (Soccer) (Futbol) (etc.).

Right I figure I'll just start it off with a question: What are your thoughts on Sir Alex Furgeson's, the head coach of Manchester United, decision to bench David Beckham at the start of the Champions League match against Real Madrid on April 23?

I think Alex Furgeson is a lowly piece of scum who's tearing Man U. apart. I can just tell he'll be auctioning off all his players in the off season to the highest bidder. I wouldn't be surprised to see David Beckham playing with Real Madrid next year. But I digress from my question. His decision to bench Beckham was just one of the many mistakes in a game full of mistakes by him and the Man U staff. Benching Beckham was a horrible idea, since he was able to score two goals as soon as he went in. In hindsight (the best sight) I see no reason for it. I was thinking at the start of the game that he was insane for doing this.....ugh....I hope he gets fired....I really do.

It was a bloody odd idea but there's one shit load of tension between Mssr's Beckham and Ferguson right now so it's not too surprising.
As for getting fired, can't see that, Ferguson is like the 3rd most successful manager in the histroy of English football, and really due to reire whenever he feels like it, Man U won't sack him.

Hmmm Ok Morgan,first off Beckham cannot play against Roberto Carlos,as he,s too quick for him and stuffs him everytime,then Man.Utd have had 240 corners this year way far above every other team in the premiership.

Of the 240 corners not one goal has been scored by Man.Utd which is the worst record in the league.All his crosses are too low and always hits the first man

Another point is if they can get £38 million ($57mil US ish) they should take it

OK, so they don't score off corners. That's a fact. But when they put in Beckham against Real Madrid he scored twice and Madrid didn't score at all.....makes you second guess that call of not putting him in....

Too bad that Furgeson won't get sacked. I think he's just a large piece of sheit. Oh well, here's to hoping!

And as for Leicester...don't worry, they'll be back in relegation soon enough my good man
