You'll have to check this thermometer here in front of me to see if the water's warm enough. I suppose you could fool it though, by sticking it into some place warm instead. Apparently thermometers react to that sort of thing...

You can tell by the hills around the river that this is desert...yup--desert in Oregon. My skin is too fair and I get fried as it is...just what I need...a 125 mile ride home with a sunburned backside and other parts! (And that river is about 50 degrees...dang cold! ) LOL

You could write a book about what I don't know about Oregon! I have been to Denver and that's the furthest west that I have been. It gives me something to look forward to! Your descriptions and pictures make me want to get in a plane and go west!

I work for the Agriculture Dept--I do identify insects and make recommendations for eradication.

alwaysawake, don't be pulling my leg! I learned how to fly fish on the Matolious River in Madras/Bend Oregon! (sorry about the spelling, I'm most certain I have it spelled incorrectly).

I went to college in Bend and kayaked the little and big Deschutes whenever time allowed.

*ahem* You are right, I've never seen anyone fly fish with just a set of waders on but damn, a girl can dream, can't she?!
