It's kinda nice not having the sort of heat we've been experiencing, but I know once these rain clouds dissipate, it'll be hotter than the hinges of hell.
>>sigh<< Summer's here.

~kym~ enjoying the 'coverage' :D

Yes...only about 8 1/2 months of summer left, kym.....:p  :rose:

is it sunny at least? im coming down this weekend to swim in the ocean!!

Wellllll yes, its sunny, but its that time of year too

Beco, it's the time of year when the thunderstorms roll in off of the swamp dring the day and give us quick showers along with some lightening that is gone as quickly as it arrives. Nothing to concern yourself about.
Now the sea lice are another issue. You'll see the warnings if you go onto the public beach. I haven't been to the beach swimming since they were first reported. It's not worth the risk as far as I'm concerned.
Just an added note.... you can drive down to Deerfield and swim sea lice free.

~kym~ swimming in the pool until the critters are gone :D

what are sea lice? can I swim in Delray Beach???

Sea Lice are juvy jellyfish that are swept into the Delray area by the Gulfstream at this time of year. In the past, it was called 'Bather's Eruption' (I'm not kidding) and what it entails is the jellies bury beneath the skin, much like Red bugs and itch like mad for about a week. Some are more susceptible to them then others.
The worst part Beco, is that they bury in those bits that are generally covered by one's swimsuit. Its as if they take refuge there so they have the time to bury themselves. Or.... It could be the evil intent of these critters. Either way, they are a nuisance!
Some have suggested swimming nude, but there again........the risk of them burying in the 'folds" of one's skin are there. If you get my meaning?
Beco, the pool at the Marriott is nice, and there's a bar there so you won't be thirsty. :)
Enjoy your stay. :rose:

I'd suggest Deerfield, Boca you go south.
If you drive along A1A south, after you pass the Hillsboro Inlet(about a 1/4 mile) you'll see side streets on the east side of the road. There are some metered public parking areas along that strip and its a nice beach.
Gotcha on the pool thing. Its my only option here :(

there's always making fun of yuppies in ybor. Remember when Ybor was actually a cool place to go to, and the parking lots weren't lined with beemers?

there's always the beach though....
