Another Saturday night with no one to spend it with. Even the other Floridians have gone off on their own.

I guess I can include myself in the Florida Directory, at least temporarly, since I'll be in the Orlando/Kissimee area on vacation for 10 days, starting Thursday June 10th.

So I was wondering if anybody here could give me any hints to places to visit while I'm there? I've of course already planned to go to Disney and NASA.

Oh and do some of you know if there are any public places where I can get wireless internet connection? I just have to get my internet fix while I'm there ;)

Well since no one else has offered up any suggestions,,,, other than SK :p . & I wouldnt want ya thinken all florida people are just redneck porn hounds.(which doesnt mean I'm not. ;) ) but.
I check in here every now & then & recognize ya from ,,,around.
so.....
while in orlando, there's a couple different disneys. (I'm an epcot kinda guy) dont forget city walk but thats pretty much a walk. If you dont know who emeril lagguassie is. He's got an awesome / expensive resteraunt at begining of city walk. does a show every nite here on the cooking channel.
there's pleaSURE island there in disney also, its a big party area....never been there but they tell me its nice.
sea world is in the orlando area, again aint been there but I really hear its a good one.
Some body help me with the REALLY good water park, again aint been. & I'm just north of daytona.
skip silver springs,,,aint all its cracked up to be. nice clear spring water & you get to see a few gators but,,,,,,not worth it in my book.
Next the coast, with nasa,(btw is about an hour drive from orlando, with out traffic) I imagine you mean cape canaveral. I could spend days there at the astrounauts hall of fame or the site seeing rocket area with the bus tour!!!!!!!! (I think that one spot they say a gator, is a fake one!!!! Eagle nest is real though)
the hall of fame is a few hour ordeal, & I think the spot back farther, were you pull in & the SPACE shuttle is right there, is an almost three quarter day deal. & the bus tour only runs so long.
Now if your into checken out some partying on the coast, (i dont know of the orlando, or canaveral area) but if your into a ride about 45 minutes north on rt 95. You get off at rt 44 head east till you hit the semi world famous PUB 44 on the left side. (bike week it JAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)))))))) & it used to be if you followed that road to the end of rt a1a you hit a nude beach..... dont know if it still is allowed. even though a long haul fer a sherriff to even werry about.
If you decide to try a little farthe north to ,,,,,,,,,daytona ,,,,, still just over an hour from orlando..... well there's the race track.... with the little museum of sorts next to it. but dont be dissapointed at how slummy the area is just not too far from the track or the actual beach. But while your there you may want to try driving on the beach. Heck a rental car, why not!!!!!!
Now if you want to , cause youre there type of thing check out a truly famous biker bar would be the IRON HORSE on rt 1 just north of daytona.
so much fer now

Gooood evening Florioticans and honourary guests.......Just in from another evening 'round the hot town tonight! *L*.. of coarse its only nine PM. Gawd........the exciting life I have, huh?

~kym~ no matter where you might be, enjoy that moment in time :)

Trying again....

I was looking at St. Augustine's site and researching some of the various tours. I saw that there were two "ghost tours" on there.

Not that I'm a believer in ghosts, but I do enjoy the history lessons that come along with such tales.

Has anyone been on either of those tours? Which one is better?

(The two I saw were "Ghost tours of St. Aug."--That one has been featured on several national broadcasts, and "Sheriff's Ghost Walk)

Thanks!

Jeff

Sorry Jeff, I can't help ya. I'm way down here at the bottom of the state and am not familar with St. Aug. Its been years since I was there.
That being said, I'd imagine they'd be like any other ghost walk. Full of myth, legend and history. Why not do both and compare the two?
Personally, I don't do ghost walks. My thoughts are if a ghost wishes to be seen, then it doesn't take a walk to see one.
There's s'posed to be a ghost at the pub I go to in my town. The pub was shipped here form England and the ghost is a woman who was killed by her lover. I've yet to see it, but who knows??

PJ, my question is...... What's a zephyr and why are they only in hills? ;)

~kym~ ghostly thoughts this morn :D

Partly sunny skies here in S Fla today

It's kinda nice not having the sort of heat we've been experiencing, but I know once these rain clouds dissipate, it'll be hotter than the hinges of hell.
