I thought for sure I'd need a canoe to get to my little truck. I looked out the window and the parking lot was nice and flooded for a while. Stupid drainage. The rain makes me sleepy. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Don't do that! I'm already starting to doze off *grins* There's no need for a canoe, this is Florida. You should be dressed in flipflops and bare legged so that you can wade from place to place :p

Still no rain here but I'm sure my yard is flooded.

But it's so much cooler to be in a canoe. Plus the gators can't get ya. lol

The sky is about to open up AGAIN here. I'm really over this rain.

Oh and for those who remember me not finishing my scuba certification, I've signed up for the check-out dives this weekend. Please think happy thoughts that I make it this time. :D

Ah, I'm sure that's what the gators want you to think too ;)

If finally rained long enough to make things wet and slippery. I'm not looking forward to the drive home. :(

Probaby those mean bastards. lol

Not a pretty drive home at all. They have snow days up north, why can't we have rain days?

Hehe...

We do, they're called Hurricane Days. It's where you get chased out of your home on to a gridlocked highway to nowhere...

HAHAHAHA I haven't the luxury of being in gridlocked traffic. Almost in 2004, but that middle hurrican (Francis I believe) took a slight turn so we stayed home. I have however suffered the aftermath of the storms since I work in an insurance agency. That is SO much fun.

I've not had that luxury either. I prefer to ride out storms, being at a somewhat safe distance from the Gulf and such. The aftermath is a real pain mainly the gas shortages usually because the tankers that are enroute to refill the gas stations are stuck in the gridlock.

I HATE the lines at the gas stations before and after the storms. Also the ones at the grocery stores. I'm not a line person and I lose patience really fast. It wouldn't be so bad if people weren't rude but because I always get stuck around the rude people, I get in a sour mood.

Ditto on the lines. Why does everyone wait until the last second? Unlike earthquakes and such, with Hurricanes you usually have a several days warning that it's going to hit. I usually get stuck in line with whiners. And usually they're not even from the area. They're almost as bad as rudes ones

Exactly, it's like YOU'RE the one that decided to vacation during peak hurricane season, not me so SHUT UP!! lol And we can't forget those heavy sighers. Like that is going to speed anybody up. It'll speed up my urge to bitch slap you. lol

Hehehehehe :D When I encounter such people, I purposefully slow down. I take my time unloading my basket, often arranging and rearranging things on the checkout belt. I wait until the total has been rung up before I swipe my card. Then I take my time entering my pin number. Etc.

On the other side, how about being stuck behind the talkers. The ones that know the cashier and gab away about absolutely nothing while the line grows and grows. Those drive me as crazy. If this was a sunny day and the line was short and I didn't have anything perishable, sure, no problem. After all, this is Florida. But when the line needs to move fast and my ice cream is melting, I don't think it's appropriate to waste time talking about your favorite brand of denture cream

*thinking happy thoughts for Sweetie*

OMG do I agree

Rude people must be breeding because they are every where I turn. Since I'm usually out within the public working I can't find any place not infected with them. Roads, Shops, Malls, Restaurants, Parks, Beaches... They're everywhere, They're everywhere!

I'm off work for a few weeks to recoup from a nasty fall. I might even like people once again after this time off...as long as I hang out it Lit for these weeks off.

If not, then we'd be siamese twins... Though, I've always had the feeling someone is looking over my shoulder

Breeding? More like spawning.

*nods* no one teaches manners in the home anymore. It is terrible and is part of the decay of our society.....

This is me jumping in! :)

A nasty fall? Ouch. Hope you have a fast recovery. And don't bet on liking people. You might THINK you like them until you get back into stupidville, then you'll remember why you liked your house. lol

That's another thing that irritates me. Parents aren't parenting anymore. I look around at these teenagers and their little attitudes and I KNOW we didn't act like this. I know this because my parents would have beaten my ass for talking back to adults. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......

Jump in anytime!

Thanks Sweetie. I need all the good thoughts I can get too. 5 weeks so far and if surgery then 2 more months . Never tear an achilles!

You are so right. I will probably miss this when back in Stupidville. I think if stupid hurt my life would have been much easier all along!

By the way my mom pulled hair since I used to be able to sit on mine. But you are all exactly right on the lack of parenting thing. Somehow I never got the memo that we no longer have to be responsible for our kids, our jobs, our actions.
