Hi there casper!!

I just had a look at the 5 day forecast and we are suppose to be in the 90's all week. Looks like summer for us is here to stay!

Am I the only one here from the Naples/Ft. Myers area? I'm retired but still get a bang out of living, Bring on the heat baby!

Funny you should mention that Wintermute, as I myself am part-owner of an IT company down south near Miami. I too have put in long hours, though not quite as extreme as you've descibed. It's difficult to compose the words neccessary to verbosly elaborate on my own work ethic. Basically, I just feel that no job or career is worth the sacrifice of one's happiness- or the one they so care about. Don't get me wrong, however, I enjoy engineering, but some things I feel should always come first. Right now, some of my peers are prepping themselves for 70-hr work weeks at Intel. That's fine if you have no other love, but some things in life just seem a bit too unique and special in their own ways to pass them by. No, I wish it were a matter of being a workaholic, but I think I just need to keep on meeting more people.

I'm in a bit of a rush now, but I have an interesting thought I'd like to post next time.

Guys.. I was a restaurant manager for about 7 years from the time I was 23 until I was 30... I learned the hard way that those kinds of long hours are not worth the sacrifice, unless you are doing them for your own business. Even though experience prepped me for what I'm doing today... if I had to do it all over again...I wouldn't! I lost friends and loves due to those jobs and looking back..it wasn't worth it. Maybe what I mean is not that I wouldn't do it again... but I would do it differently. Tell the peolpe who wanted me to work 125 in one week with no over time pay involved, on several occasions...NO F'N WAY!

Oh honey, I would never deliberately neglect you......um......I mean ya'll.

In all honesty, when hubby is on a job like the one in Crescent City, it makes me nervous. His job is very dangerous! I have to do something to keep busy and so I paint or build something. LOL, when he called to say he was on his way home the other night I told him the house was a different color than when he left and to not miss his turn. I am in the middle of painting the exterior before it gets too darn hot.

hot tubs and mimosas

...and the best part of all- there won't be any rowdy college students there. At least for 2 nights or so I'll be able to get some sleep. Ok, I admit, I'll just re-word that in to being "relaxed in or near a hot tub" for 2 days. Relaxation is something she and I will need after being busy for the next few months between work and school. Just the kind of place we'd both like. Again, thanks for the scoop. For the immediate future, I'm counting the days until I can cruise down to Miami and return to my temporary occupation as a beach bum. Friday afternoon. So close, yet so far- only 2 exams to go...


My inspiration for how to study for my exams. If it were only that easy.

It was hot as hell in town, but the beach was AWESOME!! Nice breeze.....lots of afternoon sun!! LOVE IT!!

It was hot here this afternoon, too, but has cooled down nicely.

Haven't been to the beach in a while, though. I only live 5 or so miles from it. You would think I would be there everyday.

Yep..I live much farther from where I go, but I make the effort to go every day!!!
