Flameout Prediction Thread

He told my friend on yahoo chat that F4f was his alt if it wasn't obvious anyway. I think nov 30 is the default birthday if you don't give one though.

Ah okay. I had him on ignore for the majority of the time, so I missed some stuff. -But seriously...he told someone that he was using an alt in order to fluff his own threads?

So are we to expect the same song and dance from yet another alt?

Seeing this same thing on boards before (not to this extent, thanks to our idealism of free speech which I thank Lauren and all for), we will be "graced" by an alt or two for a while but this guy thinks he is/was the real deal so any reinvention of himself will be the same psycho bullshit that will appear and disappear just as quickly.

I don't always agree with everyone's opinion here, but we should all be able to express our opinions without being chastised for thinking differently.

Thank you for returning this forum to where it should be.

Thinking differently is fine. Being a verbally abusive asshole because everyone doesn't agree with you is not fine.

I don't think he is a deliberate troll, which is the accepted definition - somebody who fucks with people to get a rise out of them. I do think that someone who stirs up shit, gets us all riled up, isn't a participant in the board except for their own discussions, and has a one-track mind with an inability to see other points of view is a troll, though.
OK, 'fess up...you looked BLoved up in the forum use dictionary to find such a perfect definition, didn't you.:D

Heh, see below, that got posted a few times and received a friendly mod warning on the dangers of developing a flood:
That was actually a complete fabrication. Although that is the ban message created by vBulletin when the built-in ban system is used, it is not used at Lit. Banning here is done by usergroups, not with the built-in ban system. There is absolutely no way anyone, BLoved included, could have received that message from the Literotica forum.

It was, instead, completely made up by his persecution complex. By posting that message, he hoped to gain sympathy from those who think it's real. It's not. He knows perfectly well why he was banned, and he made up that message, or copied it from when he was banned by another vB system.

I think it was the multiple postings of pm's that sent him over the edge though. Etoile can explain. She put up with the nutter's abuse, she deserves some cookies. :D
That was indeed the final straw. He posted a PM I sent him to three threads within 10 minutes; all were immediately edited by myself and Laurel, and down came the ban. In that PM, I had mentioned that he knows the rules, and he should stick to them. He chose not to.

As for putting up with his abuse, it's part of the job, I guess. I like being a moderator, even though you sometimes get shit for it. His stuff was more vicious than any I can remember, but I had the comfortable position of knowing I was in the right at all times (I repeatedly confirmed this with Laurel via PMs), and that any mud he was slinging was untrue. It was a little odd that someone from SF jumped in on me too, claiming I'd made up the rules, but of course that person had their own motivations for doing so. As the ban has shown, I made up nothing whatsoever - Laurel verified every warning I issued.

Now, is it just the sn that gets banned, because I think WriterDom may have been correct that F4f is an alt.
Yes, flesh4fancy is almost certainly BLoved's alt. And you are correct, it is only the BLoved account that has been banned. In fact, I think it's only been banned from posting - he is probably reading this now.

If he returns, he can expect the same thing that has just happened, to happen again. Despite all of his rage (and his claims to the contrary), I really harbor no ill will against him. I agree that he probably has some issues, but of course we all do. I don't even care enough about him personally to want him banned, I don't care enough to think about him at all. I care about Lit remaining a positive place for everyone who uses it, and the rules are designed to keep Lit a positive place. If you break the rules, everything goes to shit, and that's what I was focused on.

Yes indeed. If he does find his way back on, he will be immediately identifiable, his style is unique. I think he knows this, and he knows what will happen if he comes back.

Forget the hokey pokey folks, this is what it's all about. :rose:

Actually, I'd like to amend my definition to include pitting longtime users against each other. We had "ignore him" and "he's funny" camps going for a while. Also something I don't like to see on a forum like this one.

Yeah you are! I was checking out the new AV. Gorgeous pics! How long did it take you to get completely made up?

About 90 minutes, but part of that was because it's not easy to stuff my fat American ass into the kimono :)

:rolleyes:You look frikken awesome. I bet it takes just about anyone a decent amount of time to don such elaborate clothing, makeup and hair.

I really love the picture(s) where you can see the back of your neck and where the makeup ends/begins. -That carefully drawn flourish...It's subtle, and sexy.

Oh it does take a long time for everyone! But I'm serious about cramming me in. Japanese people are just not as big as Americans. There are some fat Japanese, and some skinny Americans, but the kimonos were built for skinny Japanese people. Do you know how tiny their Big Macs are?! They're like Medium Macs. :D

I have been stalking asian shops around here so that I could get a manderian style dress with out having to make it. (some things I'd just rather buy) But even a 5x is too small! and those are hard to find even.

I'm going to have to break down and make one some day.

Dude, that stuff is CRAZY tiny. I remember a Japanese shop at Epcot and I couldn't fit into the 3X stuff. It's insane. I have finally learned to completely ignore the clothing shops when browsing here. It's not even worth it.

That was true.

And every time I thought about chucking him on ignore, I'd glance through and realise that some people were making some really good points, and I didn't want to miss that stuff. :(

Trolling refers to behaviour online with the goal of making others appear foolish online.

You may do this by subtly confusing the fuck out of everyone. Alternatively, be a rampant shithead and incite anger. The first one pops up, makes a topic and leaves. The second type stays and spouts nonsense at a prodigal rate.

Ohhh! there is a web store that sells used kimonos, some of them are pretty resonable. I bought one to swan around in at home and it's lush. and really big too ;)

Um..what's a troll?

heh... that is normally the first post a troll makes :D

No, the second. The first post is what triggers someone to out them as a troll.

In my definition, a troll is someone who likes to cause problems, just for the sake of causing problems. They are always contrary to others, many times they can be hateful when confronted for their narrow views, and they seek out threads that they can disrupt by posting snarky dribble. And they seem to thrive on how much they disrupt a forum.
~smile~

They aren't there for any constructive reasons. Many times it's just a bored 14 year old with nothing better to do with their time, or just seem that age, because of the way they act. But, they must have a certain amount of intelligence to be able to act trollish without being too overt. Their stay in any forum is dictated by the amount of trolling they can get away with.
~smile~

Basically, a troll's only purpose is to cause problems and piss people off. The more successful they are, the happier they are. They feed off of other posters who try to chase them away. So above all, remember this...and this goes for some of the regulars, too... No matter what, Don't Feed the Trolls.

Of course, this isn't the only definition of a troll, so your mileage may vary. There are posters who are not trolls, but because of their personality and posting methods, can act like one. Those are the most difficult to point out as well as to cull.

Dude, I couldn't fit the clothes there and I was 21 years old and almost ten pounds lighter than I am now! When I went to a shoe shop, I was told my feet were so big I would have to special order from Tokyo...I am a US size 7 1/2.

Ok, so this'll teach me to ignore threads about bloved. He got banned!?!

I've never known someone to get banned. That is SO cool. :D

That said, I think he wanted to be banned so he could feel martyred. He could have kept being a pain in the ass and he wouldn't have been banned, but he went and deliberately broke forum rules over and over. This is like those people who deliberately break laws to go back to jail.

Wow. Someone who's actually been banned. *shakes head*

Hahahaha can you imagine if for some reason I just had to buy shoes when I was in Japan? My feet are a US 10 1/2 to 11.

Kinda what I was thinking. I'm US 9 1/2 to 10.

Well, things might have changed in the past 20 years, lol.

But it was always funny when we'd go to a public place - like the hospital or something - where you had to take your shoes off and put on slippers out of the bin. I would always have to go to the men's bin and sometimes even then I couldn't find a pair to fit! I felt like a giant.

The last time my Oba-chan went to Jappan, she found a summerweight kimono that fit me fine. Apparently, the big people are all on Hokkaido. While Grandma was your typical teensy Japanese woman, my grandfather (6'3" and probably 270lbs when they met in the 50's) was simply large. Anywhere else, he'd be brobdingnagian.
