It's about time for him/it/her to show up again with a new nick to start bumping threads.

I wonder what tonight's screen name will be? any guesses?

I can't keep track of usernames. I also thought this was going to be about facial hair, like beards, or scruff, and a five-o-clock shadow.

And does facial hair really grow that fast?

If you use an electric razor. NCOs in basic could tell if you were using a forbidden electric or a required razor by days end. For the high testosterone types anyways. Takes me 1 month to grow a proper beard or moustache. I shave off my moustache for Movember and figure it is back in 4 weeks.

Have a blond haired baby faced buddy who after two weeks looks like he has a bit of dirt smudged on his face.

no, not about beards, although, it's an idea

Someone has been bumping old threads recently, making up new accounts each time. From now on, they will be known to me as Five O'clock Charlie

That was from M.A.S.H. right?

Yes. The pilot who sputtered through every day dropping bombs that never hit anything. I just dated myself, didn't I? lol

Mine does. It showed a lot more before I became more salt than pepper.

When I was young I would grow a full beard in three weeks.

What is wrong with more salt than pepper?

On some men a beard makes them look better. More manly and shit. But not a grey one. Just makes you look older. My beard is damn near full grey at 54. Adds ten years to my age. Doesn't match mostly dark hair either. Short hair and shaved can pass for early 40s. Bearded in need of a haircut look in my 60s.

Maybe some men can get away with it. But most it just makes them look older. Has to be fine smooth beard hair. Usual beards are thick and coarse. Mine is very thick and coarse haired.

This, ^^^^ too.

It's just that when my legacy from my father who actually has a Harry Morgan in his family tree was still dark, the contrast was much more noticeble.

Mine was thick and would curl in irritatingly. For some reason as it went white it went straight and seems softer.

I haven't really had occasion to let it go for more than a week or so since I started shaving my head consistantly, so I have no idea what it would look like, now.

I had a goatee for a while when I first started shaving my head 15 years ago. Would probably be a lot different now. Last I saw it it was white with a gray Van Dyke.

I understand the whole grey makes ya look older. But as long as you aren't sportin that mountain man/biker dude beard that reaches to your belly with accompanying ponytail, I bet it's not as ad as you think.

It definately is. I care a lot less about looking my age now than I did when I was having my out-of-sequence misspent youth.

Again I think it's in how it grows. Coarse and wiry or smooth and soft. Coarse and wiry is hard to get looking neat. Hairs stick out at odd angles. Sean Connery can pull it off. I can't.

You shave your head so you don't look greying and balding guaranteed. You care!

Had a look at the top of my head the other day. Wow! Holy thinness. I'll be bald up there by 60 I'm sure.

Oh, for sure!

I still think I look better this way. I used to care a lot about that, now I mostly care about looking tidy and professional.

I'm sure if I grew my hair I'd be full-on Friar Tuck. Not having that. Worse still would be a comb-over, or Trumpian Swirly.

They go on ignore without my ever opening their thread/post. I can only hope that they become an early entry in the "Darwin Awards."

From what I've seen they bump other people's threads. If you have the original thread starter on iggy, you'd never see the bumping.

I see the flood and build a dam. Hell, for the most part the nick is enough. No need for research.
