I received it yesterday, got it framed today. It isn't hung yet, but it looks so beautiful and I'm so proud to have it as my own.

Thank you Gretchie.

I am sort of in shock. It looks sooooo amazing.

I am so happy right now I could cry, just because I know how much you love it, and that you are happy. That is all that I could hope for.

:D *sniffies*

Fishie? You are an amazing artist. I fully expect this piece to be worth something some day (and before you die). ;)

Here is a shot of where it will live.

OMG! Just the idea that my first professional peice was going to such a neat, wonderful and cool lady, was enough, but that she has impecable taste, and she has made art with art has me reeling with a buzz unknown to me before now.

The way you have displayed it with the colbalt glass bottles makes it come alive. That is something.

My jaw won't shut.

I was just telling Dave...

There are only so many really great things that happen in a persons life.

This is one for me. It is an amazing feeling to know that something I made is that cherished by another, and that it is expressed and displayed in such an artful, and unique way.

I am truly feeling fullfilled and happy right now no matter what the future brings.

Fishie, I collect old, blue glass jars and bottles. That is where most of them lived before. Do you think I should keep them under your painting?

I'm happy that I've made you as happy with your art as you have made me. *smiling*

By the way, where it will be displayed is the most visible art niche in my house. Your painting will be the first thing anybody sees as they enter. :)

It's just beautiful, Ruby! You've got to be very, very pleased with this painting.

Fishy - it's wonderful!
What a gorgeous use of color...

Stunning.

Ummm...
what's your going rate?

I might make a clean sweep of all the artists at Lit.

Got a Myst Original.
Someone else here is a published writer... i'm first in line for one of their books, signed, i hope.
Someone else here is a jeweler of international repute and will be making me something. (Also signed?)
I think i need a Fishy Original to add to my small but important (to me) Lit Collection.

Is it my imagination or do sexually open and aware people also seem to be unusually creative?

Sooo... who else is an artist?
Come out come out where ever you are...

I can't draw a line to save my life but i can appreciate a well-drawn one when i see it... and i can buy it, too.

Cym, I have to rave about Myst too.

Here style is so amazing. I get a sort of impression from her work that I don't get from any other artist. It is truly good stuff.

Maybe we need to start an artist community in Montana? *oh, to dream of it makes me swoon*

I want to see more of her work for certain.

I appreaciate all of the compliments, but I am thinking I am just now letting it truely sink in.

The excitement is overwhelming.

I think I need to have some raunchy, wild sex to bring me back around!

:D

I love it! I love the art niche and the cobalt bottles look like they were collected to go with this piece.

This is wonderful:) It is good:)

Fishy is going to love art school! :)

Very nice picture, congratulations!

the title "artist"

would be more than I would admit to,

Come out come out where ever you are...
but if you need a gallerie designed to hold your collection . . . (well, the AIA professional ethics guidelines still don't allow for advertising or other shameless self-promotion) . . . Then there's the campus for the Montana artist colony.

And yes, very nice, Fishy--I was naturally drawn to the architectontic qualities--congratz to artist and "patron" as well.

The cabin is open to you, hon. The key is under the 4th shingle to the left.

I'm thinking of glazing the wall behind this painting. Look at the second picture I posted in this thread to see the space.

Does anybody have any color suggestions? I was thinking of picking up the deep green. What do you think?

Has anybody ever glazed a wall? Any suggestions for me there?

I'm not an art critic myself...

...but I expect that one would say that this is a charming work, showing excellent draftsmanship, and a vivid blast of color. I suspect Rubyfruit has made a very good investment.

If you are going to hang the picture there *and* put the blue bottle collection under the picture, then I would suggest a color that compliments both the painting/frame and the bottles. Deep green won't do. Maybe a light grey to make the bottles and the color of the painting to stand out. If it was *just* the painting, and not the bottles, I would suggest a middle green...

Very beautiful picture, btw, and that's a very tasteful place to put it. :)

There is certainly a plethora of talent to be found among the member of this board!

Ruby, you've made a good investment in our Fishie!

Cheyenne, I am so looking forward to going to school. I can't wait to learn all the things I will, and can't even imagine right now.

BR, I agree. It is nice to see artists coming out more. Our member brushstroke is another very good artist here. I love the animals they do. I am impressed with them.

I have been trying to sketch everyday, and trying to draw things in a rough way so that I focus on form, more than detail. I have no problem with detail usually. It is overall form I tend to need to focus on, because I feel that I can't do well put together compositions without developing the skill of choosing forms that work together. I want to learn different ways to draw, to a degree, but I am painter, not a drawer.

I am pretty psyched right now. A few days ago I published my website through 8 major search engines.
Now you can find my gallery by looking up 'Starfish's Art' or my name on Yahoo, and on Google for certain, but the others I am not sure of yet.

:D

Okay, before I gloat more, I will say that I have to start a thread adressing those who want to know about buying my art, because I know I've neglected to answer or adress several inquiries.

Thank you all for the support, but I am seriously not letting it go to my head. I want to remain focused, and learn what I can. School is the most important thing to me right now.

Happy Valentine's Day!

My love to each of you. :rose:

This just makes me nervous to pick a good spot to showcase my Fishie original....... What to do, what to do.......

:rose:

And as to the artist community, my wife's an artist and I can trim bushes quite well. Am I in? :D

Yes Storm. I think we can fit you in. ;)

It might be kind of tight though!

Fishie, what do you think about the color for the art niche? I don't want anything too bright. I'm thinking that the darker, muted green would be good.

Black bird said he didn't think the green would go with the blue glass, but I actually love green and blue together. I won't be going with grey - that's for sure (sorry bird). I can't stand grey - reminds me of battle ships.

tight fit??
