So is that just losing your virginity, or can it be your first time doing anything. E.g. first time having sex outdoors (not that I am working on such), or first threesome, etc.?

I'm always surprised by how much non-ordinary cherry loss (m or f) there is in the category. Some of it makes sense to put in FT (eg a lesbian first time giving a man a bj of which there seem to be a lot ). Otherwise first time anal would be better in anal AFAIC First threesome in group etc.So is that just losing your virginity, or can it be your first time doing anything. E.g. first time having sex outdoors (not that I am working on such), or first threesome, etc.?
First time anything is OK, I think--IF you make that clear in the story description slug. I think most readers do come to it with the understanding it will be first-time penetration. So is that just losing your virginity, or can it be your first time doing anything. It could mean the first time for that particular couple. I just did one of those, and the participants are not inexperienced. The readers accepted it.OK - cards on the table.
This is my contribution to the “on the job” event. It’s straightforwardly EC type stuff, but I never get anywhere with that category. So I was thinking of alternatives. Is first sex at the office sort of FT, a stretch, right? Probably a bad idea.
Just EC hates me *grumble* *grumble*

That was the original intent, but it’s drifted since the site started. Not as much as LW, but still. It’s mostly about first times having sex, but you’ll regularly see first time cheating, first time with a man/woman, first time as a hot wife, etc. And those stories can still do well there, sometimes better than in their “main” category. So is that just losing your virginity, or can it be your first time doing anything. Is vaginal sex and a hand job OK in Romance? I get so confused.IMHO, you might want to give Romance a roll.
Oh and female masturbation. Is vaginal sex and a hand job OK in Romance? I get so confused.

Of course, hunI'm considering a story about my "First Time" spanking it to tentacle porn. Does that count?
I just assume Romance to mean that. A romance. Is vaginal sex and a hand job OK in Romance? I get so confused.
Where is the user guide when you need it?I just assume Romance to mean that. A romance.
Some people who are romantically entwined have sex. Strange though it may seem -why would anyone have sex inside of a Romance after all- it happens. So I could easily see a story that was in Romance having sex in it.
My new 'How I met my Naked Alien Girlfriend' story is tagged with Romance, so it shows in that category. Even if it is a story about a human and a nonhuman, has sex, and is CMNF.
I think it would pass the test. Although, I have a hard time imagining anything sexy about tentacle porn, but that's just me.I'm considering a story about my "First Time" spanking it to tentacle porn. Does that count?

As @Djmac1031 says, I did my best:I think it would pass the test. Although, I have a hard time imagining anything sexy about tentacle porn, but that's just me.
Subtle but difficult questions. In my own experience, my stories in EC, BDSM, Toys and Masturbation, etc., almost all have some emotional connections; they are not just hook-ups. I know Romance readers hate breakup stories, but most series have to end with one. (It isn't 1910 any longer.) I'd say anything where sex is described but not depicted (it happened in the past) or is going to happen in the future but is not also depicted fit best in Romance. Certain factors - like BDSM, homosexuality, etc., - would override that and probably go into their respective categories.Oh and female masturbation.

There is a user guide on here somewhere. It was done by one of the writers, not the site itself.Where is the user guide when you need it?

So it’s a love story. But (as this is the real world and the 2020s) it has sex in it. Actual described sex and referred to sex.Subtle but difficult questions. I tried, but I still didn't get it. It's a subset of science fiction I guess. The average octopus or squid doesn't care at all for humans. The ones the Japanese invented seem oversized, but I'm not a marine biologist so I may have missed something. You haven't read Em's story then lol.
Here's the guide someone wrote:So it’s a love story. But (as this is the real world and the 2020s) it has sex in it. Actual described sex and referred to sex.
It only features sex between two people and it’s not a sex romp at all, but it has graphically described sex, shafts glistening with pussy juice etc. etc. Semen is swallowed.
I guess it’s EC. But I kinda like the idea of Romance.
