I just submitted my first story the site and was wondering if anyone could tell me about how long (on average) it takes to hear back?

I'm more nervous than I thought I'd be about this. I've been writing erotica for years and sharing it with friends. I thought this would be easy for me, but *gulp* it's not as easy as I thought!

Thanks!

For me, it took 3 1/2 days.

I submitted my story on a Tuesday night; it was published the following Saturday morning.

Yeah for me it also took a couple of days

I was surprised how many people have viewed it- lit certainly gets a lot of visitors

no need to be nervous though :) If you've been doing it for years then you're probably a lot more experienced than a lot of people who post here!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, curiousjen. I'm trying to just stay busy and keep my mind off of it!

It has taken up to a week for mine to go through. My latest was five days. Patience is a virtue.

No problem- if its any help the story i posted was only a very rough draft and i've not had any horrible feedback or anything- i actually think the majority of people around here are very nice and constuctive. Maybe I'm naive....but it helps me worry less :)

That's really good to know (about not getting horrible feedback). I think I'll check out your story after I get back from the bank. How do I look for specific author's story... ?

Very nice, CuriousJen... I liked it a lot. Do you have anything else out here?

Not yet...I'm working on a novel right now...so not a lot of time for short stories but will do sometime soon!

Thanks for reading

:D

It takes forever!

I mean, my first story, it took three painful days!!
Well, it seemed like forever. As it was, I didn't realize it was posted until I logged on and had 60 new emails in my inbox. Unfortunatly, I haven't been able to repeat that level of response in any of my other works.

To search for stories by a particular author, go to the Story Index page. About 2/3 of the way down, just about the "Adult Headline News" section is a section titled "Search The Site". Click on "Search Stories". There's a text box to enter the author's name.

However, I usually use the link to "Search Members". Entering the member's name will take you to their profile. It's lists their stories and more info on them as a person. And sometimes, even a picture!

My last story took 18 days!

Of course, there was a problem with the "Submit" button, and I had too much HTML formatting in it. They have been running from 4 to 8 days lately from what I've read.

It can depend on how you submitted it also. If you emailed it in Word, it will take longer. If you used the submit form and text or simple HTML, it will take less time.

Oh, the agony!

My story was rejected this time because I didn't break my dialogue up. I need to fix this and re-submit. Thanks everyone for your kind words! I guess I'll re-submit today and hope that it will out next week sometime.
