I'm sure this must have been discussed at some point, but I am sure I cannot find it. If this is a repeat, please feel free to flog me.
I would like to talk about all the greatest Daddies/Fathers/Papas etc. there are out there, preferably in the public's eye so that I can take a peak as well. So, public figures, literary, movie stars, I don't care, just talk to me about the best Daddies!
(Feel free to tell about your own Daddies too, if you are so inclined.)
I'll go first.
I think these fellows make surpreme Fathers. I am quite jealous of the girls who were raised by these men.
Pim (Otto Frank) - Anne Frank's father. The most romantic and bittersweet Father-Daughter relationship I've ever read about. Anne truly adored her Papa. I am jealous. He was such a perfect father, a very real gentleman. I've him up on the highest pedestal.
What a darling!
Then we have Matthew Cuthbert, a ficticious literary figure. Although he wasn't actually a Father at all, he was a terrific Father figure to the orphan, Anne from Anne of Green Gables. What a sweetheart. But he could be stern as well, when needed.
We simply cannot forget Atticus Finch. What a smart Daddy!
Finally, we have a very enviable Carson Drew. I always thought there was a little more going on there between Nancy and her Dad.
