Some time ago there was a study where they showed men pictures of women (clothed), and women pictures of men (same), and traced the movements of their eyes as they looked at these full body shots.
The idea was to determine which parts of a woman's body a man looks at first and vice versa. As I recall, the pictures were about life size, or at least big enough that you could trace the eye movements as they scanned over the picture's face.
Both men and women looked at the face first, but it's what happened next that I don't quite remember except for this: The women's second look was at the men's shoulders.
We can probably guess what the men looked at second, but as I recall the hair was surprisingly near the top (NPI) of the list.
I also think that the women looked at the man's eyes when they went to the face, but the men looked at the women's mouths.
Does anyone remember this study?
