Well the story so far: I am at 5000 words and the scene is set, but now I have got writers block.

My other stories are short, sharp and written in the first person; this one is attempting to develop character and dialogue.

I had a volunteer editor who baulked at my technical errors - (okay, they needed fixing) but now realise I need more help with the content.

As it is work in progress I can't say where its going, or the theme or genre as only our female protagonist has got her clothes off so far! She is currently lightly bound and gagged with a naked bloke called Syd taking macro lens pictures of her tits!

Any help gratefully received, but I'd welcome you read my other tales so you can get a measure of my style.

Thank you in advance,

EOM

Not sure this is the kind of help you're looking for, but I'll share my procedure for writers block.

Put your story down. Work on something else. Come back to it later when something inspires you.

For me, plots are like butterflies. There's no sense chasing them. Better to lay real still and let them come.

For what it's worth, here's what sometimes helps me. I launch Word along with a simple game. Maybe solitaire, or other types of games that are not intensive. If I find I can't write, I play a game or two, alternating between Word and the game.

Sometimes I don't even write about the story I want to write, but something off-topic. Just writing, something, anything, lubricates the stuck gears.

Just a thought.

Sometimes I'll read and edit the story up to that point and the momentum will give me an idea or direction to follow.

go jerk off. works great for me.

also, letting it sit for awhile while you talk to yourself about. out loud. seriously. it may sound crazy, but it often works. why? no idea. it just seems to help things make sense. maybe it's just me, but, hey, it's worth a shot, right?
